Re: Lets Get Back to the Arena for next Season - Gimme Shelt
A return to the Arena would be a sad day for me as I would break my connection with the club. If the history of the place, which is well known, isn't enough to convince people DFC didn't belong there then nothing will. I maintain my belief that going back there would be like back to a doctor who re...

Re: Arena news article
I think people will be surprised at how well Mowden will do a the arena, just m opinion of course cage running costs are nowhere near as bad as people think, There's no thinking going on. We've already been told it's £270k a year to run + the stadium is due maintenance. For example, every nut and b...

Re: Anyone used TransPennine Express before?
You turn up at the station, get on the train, put your case in the ample luggage facility (no, not a guards van, they don't exist) and sit down and watch the countryside and maybe have a cheeky drink, before you know it you arrive in the airport complex, get off and walk to the checkout. Lost on wh...

Can't see mowden park going to the expense of building another smaller stadium when the arena is there? The fans who watch mowden park won't be bothered where they watch them at, just as long as they're watching their team

Re: West Auckland double their ticket prices...
I'll be boycotting this game and I hope every other darlo fan does the same. It'll send a message out to any other unscrupulous northern league club thinking of taking the piss out of our supporters. I hope they have a big bill to pay for extra staff and security and no extra income. Cheeky bastards...

Re: Paying back Creditors
as you have argued many a time, we are the same club. so those creditors. I argue that we are the same club, but many people won't accept it. Not least the FA. "You are a new club" they say. "The FA say you are a new club" they say. Well people can't have it AND have it! They can't demand that we a...

Re: Charity Partner
I'm with Tori on this. It's a great cause and it's Darlington based. It's also not as well known as the other charities mentioned so we could be making even more of a difference to them and if we've let them down once we should try to make amends. Take a look at the link that Tori provided to see wh...

We've got to have Darlington in the name as that is our identity and where we're from. I don't see what's wrong with just Darlington or afc Darlington.

Re: Marske Ticket Prices - Idea of other club charges
I think our ticket prices have to be comparable to the rest of the northern league. As we are now a community club we should be trying to attract supporters through the gates, not alienate them.

Let's get ourselves a manager and a squad of players who are proud to play for the black & White shirt and get back to where we should be as quickly as possible. We should use this injustice as an opportunity to get behind our team.

Re: Darlington Arena running costs
It is expensive but in mitigation it does provide an income from carveries, car boot sales, weddings etc. Although at the level we are at it is probably too big of a risk to continue at the arena. £25k at shildon provides a definite amount that is affordable and you can budget for.

Seats for disabled / elderly
As there are only a certain number of seats, will there be any put aside for disabled fans or OAPs who are maybe unable to stand for the 90 minutes? We do have a large number of older supporters who could be put off going if they think they may have to stand.

Re: The Arena
The fact that tesco or any other supermarket can't develop the arena site has nothing to do with covenants. It is because it contravenes national planning policy regarding retail development and they wouldn't be able to get planning permission. So that idea is dead in the water

As far as I can see, when the stadium is open it makes money due to events etc. Why cut off a revenue stream and mothball it for six days a week.
