Will the match be on?

Hi all, with all the rain this week I’m worried about the match being on, this would be the first home game of the season, sometime in August.

Is there anyone local who could advise to the condition of the pitch ... but please type slowly as I can’t read very fast.

Re: Jordan Nicholson released

Nicholson is a good player and scored some tasty goals, but the times when he shone the most were the times when we were weak up front and there was no one else available to cut through opposition defences. In some of the later games of last season it seemed our only tactic was to get the ball to hi...

Is it Sotnick using a changed name? If so stand by for an increase in pie prices.

If we are to look into the Northern League, Mark Fitzpatrick of Dunston or Michael Sweet would be good picks!

When I saw Michael Sweet last season (at Bishop) he didn't do much then got himself needlessly sent off!!

Re: More signings pls xoxo

It’s not a nailed on fact that Spennymoor will have a good season. Things can and do go wrong. Bad vibes, injuries, loss of form and waterlogged pitch are some potential issues. I mean, with all this money being spent on players, will the ground improvement fairies be able to produce results?

Re: Notes from the fans' forum

A good post w’quaker.

It’s a grand plan but it is possible. DFC have always been the bridesmaids and never the bride regarding our stadium.

Now that we are fan owned and no longer at the whim of any potentially dodgy geezers it would be great to have a proper home we could call our own.

When we played at Spennymoor last season I didn’t spot one policeman inside or outside the ground, I remember commenting about it on this forum. No one watching out for flare throwers, searching would be suspect flare throwers - or protecting regular Darlo fans from aggro.

This is a good thread to read for anyone who feels jaded that our “fan owned” model holds us back. I take no pleasure at all by seeing clubs screwed over by dodgy people but it’s a reminder to us all that it can and does happen. I think it was our learned friend darlopete (amongst others) who was ke...

That’s too much. The York fans love to moan and this will certainly get them going, and don’t mention the parking, I’ve heard that it’s going to be £10 at the only car park so far arranged.

Unfortunately Blyth have had to readjust to their current circumstances - it happens to all clubs from time to time and it's happened to us twice recently.

They need to accept reality and stop moaning on.

T.W referred to Ainge as his "talisman" :wtf: (thought to have magical powers and bringer of good luck)

He'd be good in defence IF he's happy to be at Darlo and playing in that position.

In our last away game at Guisely, Ainge looked bored and out of sorts - he was just going through the motions, but not very well. In fact the situation that day reminded me of the final games of Andy Crosby back in 98, a good player who wanted away and quite simply couldn’t be arsed. The game that ...

Can't blame the lad for that. I wonder if he really did enough to get noticed by a league side though?
Not to me he didn't. If our new manager fancies giving him ago then so be it - it will be interesting to see what happens.

If they applied for the job and took the job at DFC, and resigned from their current jobs, would we still have to pay compensation? I guess their current employers could refuse to let them go in theory, although in practice none would. Perhaps we'll agree to play a pre-season friendly with them. :r...

Re: Chorley V Spennymoor

It’s a brutal way to finish a season. On just one scored or missed penalty.

I remember going to Rochdale in 2008 season. Kennedy hit a weak penalty, and that was it/End of!

I suppose Chorley finished 2nd, so it was kind of their spot up for grabs.

Battle of the plastics at Wembley today.

There is absolutely nobody there. Pathetic.

Hazard a guess at around 8/9000 as the attendance :wtf:
The biggest match in both clubs history and there’s an empty Wembley. Two clubs with no interest - I’m not sure if Fylde is an actual place.

We can discuss Spennymoor Gow, nothing wrong with that. I’ve just tuned into the Salford/Fylde play off final, two mega moneyed teams and I’ve never seen Wembley so empty - it’s all based on pumped in money, but I can’t imagine Spennymoor ever being able to compete at this level, so in turn I can’t ...
