Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

There is one good thing about being drawn away again it means the rugby club don't get to sponge another thousand plus off us in rent for this same reason I hope we emulate that league cup result from ten years ago without the need for a replay. The nasty rugby club charging us rent to use their gr...

Re: Tamworth

I thought there fans were very gracious in there applauding of O'Neill as he was substituted & at the end it was noticeable that a group of fans stayed behind to applaud our team, now that doesn't happen very often does it? Good luck to them & I hope they manage to get promoted. This was something ...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington Match Thread

This is getting silly - as said previously on this thread, we are not some Micky Mouse club, we can safely put on a game with 3000 fans - let’s hope w3 get the chance.

Re: The Darlo Fans Radio Podcast

Sadly, with my laptop speakers at 100% I could barely hear what Kev Luff, Craig Stoddard and DJ were saying. There is also no way of turning it up on the page either. I could hear the other two guys clearly (Michael Price and Stuart Armstrong is it?) - so what is going on there then? Can everybody ...

Re: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round - Away to Tamworth or Hereford

If we win on Saturday, we could get through to the second round without playing a game. The last team out in 1st round draw is given a bye through. This covers Bury not being allowed to take part this year. And, £36000. THIRTY SIX THOUSAND POUNDS   Guaranteed, without a ball being...

Re: Darlington V Boston

Campbell V Styche anyone? Two very different type of players but on reflection is Styche such a big miss? Yes, when he was in the right mood he did score the odd solo special and power his way through on goal, but after his call up last season he didn’t seem to look anything that good. Campbell mean...

What's really impressed me about O'Neill during his loan spell so far is his attitude. He has obviously decided to get the most from his time with us and to grasp the opportunity for valuable experience in a completely different world to what he has been used to.

Re: Tommy Wright Stratford manager

Some people are suited to football management, others not. What kind of player you were seems to have no bearing on this. If we say that there are 7 good leagues in England (that's including 3 National leagues) this means that there are less than 175 pro standard managers in our country - so quite a...

"Victory for football" Bedaledarlo's infamous line from years ago - :) But it's a good point, we wanted to play football, they wanted to get stuck in as much as possible, break the game up, commit niggly fouls and nasty fouls too. Saturday was a huge change from the previous home game V York.

Re: Alfreton V Darlington

The fact that Alfreton played midweek was pivotal here. Halfway through the second half they visibly faded and couldn’t maintain their hard physical tactics. Credit to our players who kept on going, as it was a bruising encounter. Also, what is going on at Alfreton. Their support was terrible for a ...

There are some brilliant posts here, and I echo the sentiment of "enjoy it" which is written above. I enjoyed the early years a lot, much more than I expected. One thing I would like to add is that Raj Singh (previous chairman and mostly to blame for our demise) attempted to buy his way back into DF...
