Re: Over the years ~ In what position have we had the best players?

Special mention for Carl Shutt 😀 My favourite emergency goal keeper. He pulled on the goalies top 2 or 3 times and didn’t stand for any nonsense.

Re: Over the years ~ In what position have we had the best players?

Yes, off the top of my head, Collett, Preece, Gerkin, Moilanen. We've had some great goalies.

ps and Stockdale.

Re: Reff Gareth Thomas

The ref could have given a penalty to P'boro in the first half. I thought it was touch and go and he made the right decision to go and have a chat with the linesman then place the free kick right on the edge of the box. I think because there was a bit of doubt he didn't give the penalty, which was g...

What’s happened at Scarborough?

In their last ten games - no wins, 3 points, and they’ve scored 1 goal. :o

Barrow

What a great player he is, he handled every situation, took numerous hits and IMO should have been MOTM.

Sounds like it. If we want to manage risk it feels like we need another striker through the door. What about what's-his-name? If he's not fit now he never will be. :? Even if he’s fit I cannot see the point in playing him as he will be miles short of match fitness with only 7 games to go.Such a sic...

Re: 2022/23 FINANCIAL RESULTS

Yes, we should be able to be competitive in this division.

What didn't help was the previous policy of lowering of expectations by the powers that be - talk about shooting yourself in the foot. :(

It reminds me of that Ratners jewellers thing, when Mr Ratner said that his products were total crap.

Re: Blyth V Darlington

Nice to finally be out of the relegation zone! Still a way to go, but the way that we are playing now I am confident we will carry on picking up points. 7 games to go and we need - maybe about 10 points? That feels very doable, as long as we can keep key players fit. I do worry what would happen if...

Re: Saturdays flare incident

Some of the supposed fans who turned up and caused trouble on Saturday were not even proper Darlington fans. I remember having a conversation with one of these supposed fans who was off his face on something, asking me, 'How are we doing in the league this year and how many points are we off playof...

I find it hard to imagine that someone could chuck a flare on to a football pitch and not be noticed by others!

Twice in a week too.

Re: Saturdays flare incident

There were searches pre match, we got searched, but on saying that it would be virtually impossible to find a small flare hidden on a person determined to get it in.

A witness to it would be the only way.

Worried with how knackered they all look. Desperately need some new bodies in but doesn't seem to be any whiff of that. We're a Cedric Main injury away from disaster.
I was thinking that about Main yesterday. If he got nobbled we would be in bother.

Re: Spennymoor V Darlington

This will be my first time since Fencegate.

I’m hoping that with the ticket situation and better organisation from S’moor, it makes it a safer and better experience than what happened back then.

I’m also hoping that the over-pumped attitude of some of their players will have cooled off.

I thought the same thing last night re Watson. If he pulls off saving Darlo from the drop then it looks good on his CV and he could well get some interesting offers - and who could blame him for considering them?

That’s as maybe - right now staying up is paramount.

Re: Darlo V Scunthorpe

Our players looked to be enjoying themselves on Saturday. The passing was good and we looked fitter and more positive than we’ve been for a long time.

If we can take this form to Tuesday night we’ve got every chance of another win as top team Tamworth didn’t look anything special when they turned up.
