Re: Hodgy
I'm not sure Lo. If we go down it will hit us in many ways, attendances just for one - and then of course there's that word "should". There's so much that can go wrong during the course of any season (in any league) that there is no guarantee we would could come back up within 2/3 years. To drop out...

Re: Hodgy
I actually think his positivity would have been a good antidote to whats gone on the last 12 montsh or so--would have been a real feel good story had he succeeded I can see your point but it would have been such a strange thing to do. I’m a Hodgie fan but sometimes the past is best left in the past.

Re: They don't think much of our chances
For statto types only. Because we have a few draws I took a look at the league table then rejigged it using the old pre 80s scoring system of two points for a win. Surprisingly it makes very little difference to the whole table. None of the top ten move out of position and none of the bottom seven m...

Re: Hodgy
Says he was offered the managers job following AAs sacking but turned it down as he thought Alun was hard done by. Strong suspicion that "recollections may vary" on this one... It's a strange one this, I wonder if he was offered a caretaker role straight after A.A. went? I think this might have bee...

Re: Hodgy
As a Hodgie fan I too would be concerned about how long he's been out of management. He'd maybe make a good "caretaker" type manager if we ever get stuck - probably better than roping players in.
Darlo-Pete however will be frothing at the mouth.

Re: They don't think much of our chances
What a terrible year it's been! I'm not sure I've seen such a bad run of form stretching out over a calendar year before. Usually seasons divide things up but this year it's been the same s***/different day. The way last season petered out - then the way this season has been so poor, and...

And how's this for a stat? AAs last five league games (3rd, 7th, 9th, 11th, 14th) - W1, D3, L1 - 6 points from 5 - GF 6 & GA 10 JGs last five league games (23rd, 20th, 15th, 12th & 5th) - W1, D2, L2 - 5 points from 5 - GF 5 & GA 14 Stats are funny things though :) If you go to the last 6 games it p...

I’m not mentioning any names but the anti Gowling lot are doing my head in. Everything is bad, everything is negative, they never give up, it’s moan moan moan. What do they hope to achieve? Do they reckon that their constant bad vibes are going to help the players in some way ? Yes - we are in a re...

Hodgie put the whole squad on the transfer list once, it doesn’t mean to say they’ll all go, or even one will go.

Are we forgetting the whole - "I've never lost by more than two goals" statement? And all is not what it seems regarding the Sukar situation either. Excuse us for not accepting things on face-value. I missed most of the fans forum with the live stream issues but I did hear Gowling clarify that he c...

Re: What do you like on TV at the moment?
That James Bond themed quiz/adventure show on Amazon tv is/was surprisingly good.
Like James Bond itself, I can be a bit daft, you get to see exotic locations, the challenges the contestants undertake are pretty scary.
“Road To A Million” it’s called.

Re: Jacob Hazel
Aside from the Kit Man and his assistant, I would expect all of those mentioned to attend training out of necessity. We have no idea who is being paid to do what, but I'd be shocked if we didn't have the Manager, Coaches and Physio attending when Armstrong (or anyone else) was in charge, and analys...

So that's your proof? Completely ignoring any other mitigating circumstances such as DFC rejecting any offers/Taylor rejecting offers/deals falling through? I never said it was "proof" 09. If you want to play that game where's your proof we tried to sell him? If it's a fair assumption we tried to s...

Except if Gowling had got his way, Sukar would have been away before Burton was recalled. For me you’d have Burton in the side all day before Sukur Agreed, I would. But he was always liable to be recalled so why try and shift out the person you would have to rely on should that happen? Sukar AND Le...

Drifting off topic slightly but Gabbiadini didn't look anything special when he first rocked up at Darlo.
But for those of us lucky enough to see him, when he got going he was immense.
What a player.

Yes 100% as the rot started post Xmas last season You've said 100% to something that has already happened and we are no better off. We are 2-4-7, and now we are back to playing four of five players that JG tried to get rid of. i still maintain that a good coach would have stopped the rot and made o...

Re: Darlington V Rushall
I know you don't like it 97 but Gowling is the manager. Managers pick their best team from the players they have available, depending on fitness, attitude, who the opposition is, all sorts of stuff. Players have to constantly work to try and keep form. Players get picked and dropped from time to tim...

Re: Boost the budget
Looking at the official DFC website I think I can answer my own question.
4 players are signings (IMO 2 good and 2 pending)
The other 5 were loanies.
ps, Lucan you beat me to it.

Re: Boost the budget
How many of these 9 were loans? Does it matter? It shows he really doesn’t have an eye for a decent player with the odd exception. We were warned by Hereford fans that we would see lots of coming and goings on the loan front, players making the odd appearance before disappearing again and it’s exac...
