Re: Darlington V Telford

After seeing the highlights we have nowt to whinge about. The ball had come to a stop before the lad took the free kick and the goal scorer was definitely onside and ran in behind while Storey and Laing were stood with their mouths open catching flies.

Re: Darlington V Telford

Was that a little bit of a retort by AA in the post-match interview, when he said Justin Donawa didn't impact the 2nd half one little bit. Markedly different words from saying that someone faded a little. Sounds like he's saying 'That's why Donawa doesn't start. I thought Armstrong was out of order...

Re: Darlington V Telford

The nature for those goals were absolutely indefensible, every one of them. And every time there's a game where we concede those infuriating goals where the centre of defense disappears and the striker ends up with an eternity to pick his spot one on one, there seems to be a common theme.

Re: Darlington V Walsall Match Thread

Thompson was "disappointing"...playing out of position, won and kept about 75% of balls to him when outnumbered, battled against 4 full time football league defenders for 90 minutes, beat centre halves twice his size in the air at times, some lovely touches, turns and link ups...disappointing!? No c...

The 192 online tickets were gone by 1 minute past 10! Can’t help but worry this has been one person intending to sell on at a profit. Hopefully someone will check the validity of the purchase if so. Already seen someone on Twitter attempting to resell at a large profit. It boils my bones. To be fai...

Re: Full blackwell

Surely just segregate from the fence near the changing rooms to the 18 yard line on the pavilion side of the open end so away fans can have those turnstiles without giving up the full away end. We can reserve a small section of the seating stand for any older/disabled Walsall fans that need them and...

With regards to the money, surely lets just treat it like its not even there until the end of the season. Al has done a great job of sticking to the budget so far and building us a very good foundation to build on next season on the pitch. Stock pile it and add it to what the fans raise next season ...

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

The mood among fans is probably a lot more positive in general than I suggested initially, I suppose I'm just overly excited having wanted this for years and am surprised there's any "meh" about it at all! I get preferring a home game for convenience but at the moment big games at home have the oppo...

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

Are we still entertaining the notion that Blackwell Meadows isn't absolutely rubbish for anything more than our standard league crowd? A big away crowd is always a cracking atmosphere, especially when the home crowd aren't arsed and are easily drowned out. We're not capable of a big home crowd. Our ...

All the people whinging about the draw, seriously, what are you on about!? The odds on us pulling Pools or Sunderland were extremely long. Re: Darlington V Boston

When you take into account Boston are a solid side and likely playoff contenders and our bench resembled last season with how few players we had available, the way we played and won that game was extremely impressive. We're really starting to see the character and togetherness this group has. Thorou...

Re: Darlington V Boston

The ref really wasn't bad today by Conf North standards. Missed a couple of things but got everything major right, he booked the challenges that needed booking. Boston didn't take the piss with the phsyicality either. They're a rough, hard team but were never downright dirty the way Alfreton appeare...

It's really sad that the signing of a Darlington lad should have turned into this awful saga. Whatever the rights and wrongs, thank God it has finally been brought to an end. We should not be offering 2 year contracts to anybody, ok Galbraith and Thommo are exceptions but this has been worse than t...

Unfortunately I think the plans to add another striker now have to take a back seat to address the defensive crisis if Laing's injury on Saturday was anything more than a bad cramp...we're not even down to the bare bones anymore, the vital organs are exposed!

Re: Darlo v York

football really is fine margins. There were a few things that didn't go for us: 1. The ball hitting the post and bouncing out. Centremetres one way and we'd have been 1 up 2. CB getting injured. This meant that we had 2 left footed CBs, with one of them only being 5'10 or 5'11 i would guess (up aga...

Hatfield should have been man of the match he never stopped running afraid I don`t know why Thommo get`s it as in recent games don`t think he has been up to his usual standard. Re: Darlo v York

Was probably the most positive I've felt after a loss yesterday. Some of the criticism is predictable but unfair. We're going to be down to non defenders playing in defense, we can't get a steady back 4 together and confidence is low, as well as still struggling with the after effects of the absurd ...

Lot of people taking the easy option and bashing Heaton here. He's been no worse than the other two preferred choice centre backs this season. He's been hung out to dry a bit. Armstrong couldn't wait to jump to Laing's defense when he got a bit of stick early doors, but has himself put the boot into...

At this point we can safely assume Burn is going to shithouse a wage for the full season before going and finding his true level in Sunday morning football. This will be the last season we have anyone stuck on the wage bill playing this game at least. Armstrong seems to have been much more careful w...

Don't buy into the Campbell bashing, think AA got a bit greedy wanting to accommodate all 3 of Rivers, Thompson and Donawa and Campbell just will never suit being on his todd up front. Another lesson, probably had his hand forced a bit with 2 games in 3 days in this heat too, imagine O'Neill was fee...

Liam Watson seems to suggest that they lost because we adapted to the wind better and they didn't come to terms with playing on a wide pitch. I think it was more that we played the better football and were just, well, better all over the pitch. Their only tactic seemed to be long throws and belting...

I know it's early in the season but just for a bit of continuous comparison, am I right in thinking that we have more points at this stage than at this point last year after 5 matches? I expect we'll have a better season than last season across the board so would expect most if not all "then vs now...
