Re: Democracy under threat.

I've seen Switzerland mentioned in several forums as an example of a successful European nation not in the EU. But Switzerland has an agreement with the EU. They are a member of the EFTA (European Free Trade Area) - as are Norway - which has an agreement with the EU. They are in the Single Market an...

Re: Football abroad

Don't know how easy it is to get tickets for Bayern. All games seem to sell out and although they might keep some for football tourists I suspect these might go to specialist companies. We quite often get parties at Haching because they couldn't get tickets for Bayern. Could be worse though 3rd divi...

Re: The world cup

As I said though it's not always easy to change when you've ran yourself into the ground for 80 minutes. However I agree with you - I never understand why teams pull everyone back and leave no-one up front except in the last minute. It just means that any clearance comes straight back. Talking about...

Re: The world cup

Germany look in dire straights, as they're reduced to 10 men and only drawing 1-1 with Sweden. This comment just goes to show yet again you know absolutely fuck all about football. Sweden were chasing the ball for 75 minutes. For long spells of the second half they had no out ball and every clearan...

Re: The world cup

My problem with VAR is its application. It was used in the Bundesliga last season and there were a lot of controversies, not least the penalty that was awarded after half time when the teams were already in the dressing room. I would prefer the referee to decide whether to use it, like it appears to...

Re: Sporting Village

It does seem a bit incongruous that 4G pitches aren't allowed in the football league but are allowed in International football. The Wankdorf stadium, where Young Boys play, has an artificial pitch and was used in EURO 2008. Young Boys won the league this season so it will be used in the Champions Le...

Swiss Challenge League (2nd Division) Aarau 4 Vaduz 1 (notable for being Franz Burgmeier's last professional game as Vaduz were already on the beach as they say) Men's toilets in the away end. 9 pissoirs no roof no walls! I wanted to hear him. Didn't care whether he gave us money. I wanted him to stand up and tell the 'full' story that he keeps saying we don't know. Face the fans and explain why he did what he did.
Then leave and never darken the doors of our club again.

Nuneaton v york on saturday postponed due to international call-ups of three nuneaton players. You really couldnt make it up... thought it must be april 1. No doubt they'll be playing for some obscure international teams like Gibraltar or the Faroe Islands. Talking about internationals playing for ...

As an exile I don't get to many games so can only go on the radio, reports and social media (including this message board) but it seems that Wright can't win - no pun intended. People have been crying out for us to tighten up and grind out results and it seems that is what we did today. Had we gone ...

Or a long bike ride? Maybe we should set up an old gits banter topic. Don't bring up Merlin and Snowscape. Or perhaps do, could do with a laugh. Indeed. I have it in my mind that Singh decided which players to pay dependent on how he thought they'd performed. If I'm not wrong where's the explanation for that?

Re: Portsmouth FC - Fan Owned and Billionaire Wanting to Inv

There's a bit more to the Tin Cans than that though. It's a marketing strategy. Leipzig had to change their name - used to be Dynamo Leipzig I think - and play in Red Bull colours. Before Leipzig, Red Bull were interested in investing in my team Unterhaching when we were really struggling in the thi...

In fairness, in this thread you've asked for an explanation from me on a criticism, then ignored it. And you randomly broug...

I am struggling because to me "rent an opinion" means that an opinion will be given for money. So are you saying that you believe that Gary Lineker will give an opinion for money?

So what does "rent an opinion" mean? As far as I am aware Gary Lineker is not only a former Leicester player but also a fan and as such his opinion on Leicester City is valid.
