Re: Motherwell game

Me and Quakerman had a good chat with AA after the match. To summarise: Hatfield is a key signing (a ‘nasty t**t’ that he was missing at Blyth). Work to be done with Campbell after his years as a winger in the FL. Pace and movement cause chaos in this league. Big forwards are now hard to find/expens...

Re: Motherwell game

0-1. Keeper sliced backpass behind for a corner (looks a good shot stopper though) They scored a rebound goal from the knock-down. Playing well, looking fit, solid at back/defensive midfield (Holness and Hatfield). Good going forward but wee Campbell too lightweight/small for this league?? Early day...

Re: Motherwell game

Initial thoughts...the Bermudan CF is a big unit. You can see Burn’s ability in the warmup. He owes it to himself to perform. We also look a lot leaner than we did at PSV. Some of the impressive bellies from Lanarkshire would have fitted in well at that game. Oh yeah.. and Campbell is much smaller t...

Re: Trying to find a 91-93 Hutchison Telecom Blue away shirt

I remember it well. The belly struggled to fit in it at times. Vic I wore it when we played Kirk Douglas’s team on that Sunday morning when we had huge bellies and monstrous hangovers...I scored a cracking volley to put us one up but it quickly unraveled as the opposition worked out that they’d giv...

Re: Trying to find a 91-93 Hutchison Telecom Blue away shirt

I used to have one with the 3-D no 9 on the back. I think I got it (and the red/black ‘Brasso’ away one) direct from Jack Hatfield’s shop in Middlesbrough

I doubt they’d be able to afford a legal battle given their current plight. As one fan on their Facebook page commented, they’ve gone from being in with a shout of NL football to this exodus in just a few days. I’d say the faux outrage is a diversion tactic to deflect from the true root cause of all...

Seems odd to be in "advanced talks" abut a new contract when we don't have a Manager yet?
Maybe the manager is doing the negotiating? (AW cough cough)

I’m shocked that Alan White has got 5 votes! Surely part of the problem rather than the solution? A team who couldn’t defend for s##t all season I voted for him...natural leader, FL/local contacts, great defender, strong links to town and club, good work done with Academy. I’d also say that a) we d...

If you want a budget option then go AW with Thommo as assistant...30 years old, senior pro and all that. That would save a fortune

Re: New Manager Poll

I think style of play is something we need to look at. I'd like us to be a lot more direct and hard working than we are at the moment, with a midfield which is fit, strong, and wins the ball back, and at least one defender who will happily chuck some opponents in the air. I think, given our budget,...

Re: Who do we fancy then?

Look at our goals of the season...some of our football was mouth watering. We just needed to back up that attacking flair/intent with some bite in midfield and we’d not be far off. I think AW was right to say that. This is a part time squad, so inconsistency is to be expected. I’d rather watch an in...

Re: Who do we fancy then?

It’s odd that DJ has come out strongly Re AW staying put as assistant. Maybe a replacement has already been identified who has OK’d this? If so it could be someone who has worked with/knows AW. Or...AW is being kept on as he knows the club/area whereas our new No1 is more left field and from outside...
