Re: Spennymoor V Darlington

They are not our local rivals. They never have been and never will be. A local rivalry is deep-rooted, historic, cultural, religious, political etc. We share none of that with them despite their desperate efforts to create something. Please don’t pander to them. That is a ridiculous statement. You ...

I think that 2 and 4 will both see us needing a third kit unless we wear the home kit for more away games than we have this season

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

Barrow plays well as a left sided CB, but that means moving Hedley back to LB. I thought Hedley was excellent at RB last night. I’d definitely look to keep him if we drop to the NPL

Re: Managerial records

Who has the best worst I wonder putting our 3 managers side by side ? Obviously Gowling impacted by Armstrong leaving a mess and Watson impacted by Gowling and Armstrong leaving a mess but all 3 records pretty miserable Maybe Armstrong had the best of the 3, that would be jumped on by his fan boys ...

Beaten again by a rubbish team who are near the playoffs, deserved a point but yet again cannot score.Have to admit we have no chance now and doesn't help when we cannot bring players in. Sent from my SM-A145R using Tapatalk Yep agreed Ron. Today pretty much confirms it. Angry and sad that the deci...

‘Without getting to much in to it, that mentality of being minnows, or the unlucky club, or the no money club, needs to stop right across the FC. We are Darlington Football Club, backed by a fantastic fan-base that provides the club with adequate resources (in terms of voluntary hours & financial su...

Great interview and nice to hear Ray sounding really enthused as well. Shame we have left it till now but never mind. I think we have given ourselves a fighting chance. Looking forward to see how we line up on ‘Satd-eh’

Re: Good luck Steve Watson

It is pretty widely accepted that Armstrong didn’t (wouldn’t/couldn’t ??) coach players. We often saw pretty poor sides do a job on us simply because they were well drilled/coached and had a simple game plan that their players understood, bought into and executed. He does have other qualities like m...

Re: Who next?

And Spenny have now got shot of Dickman. Wonder if they've got Fenton lined up already. I'm afraid skint and probably relegated Darlo are maybe at the end of the queue. It's looking like we had our big chance and a clear run at the managerial market when we sacked AA. Now the water is muddied. I'm ...

Re: Who next?

…or we will get our man that DJ had clearly already been in contact with 2 weeks ago (at least). He takes two training sessions this week, changes the formation to make us more direct. We snatch a late winner at Kings Lynn and become a horrible team to play. BM becomes a hostile fortress that teams ...

Re: Who next?

Well a lot of people seem to think we have a good squad assembled by Armstrong who would have turned it around so the next guy should be ok given the great platform AA Set in between moaning about the budget   Armstrong absolutely would have got more out of this lot in the last 16 match...

Re: Who next?

Unless the new guy has funds to strengthen the squad then think it’s game over for this season. These players are not good enough for NLN. BM is an easy place for teams to pick up points. We lost key players this time last year and replaced them with players of a much lower standard. Without Beck an...

Re: Who next?

Fenton was a previous Hodgy signing…him to manage with DH as DoF? Why would we bring in a Director of Football, considering we're already way over budget on management costs? Fenton has plenty of experience. If it were to be him, there'd be no sense in bringing someone like Hodgson in. There's been...

Looking more likely it’s Hodgy as interim manager.
We could do a lot worse and it would generate a buzz and a bit of PR for the club.

I’d love to know who his number 2 would be! Any clues?

Martin Gray can come back and bring along his mate Raj Singh, who having eventually disposed of Hartlepool, will have the money to invest in the club giving us a record budget which AA can come back and spend by giving Andrew Nelson a new 10 year contract.

I think there’s a recognition that this appointment needs to be one that fans will get behind and galvanise support in the run-in. I think Hodgson will be involved as a Director of Football with MG as manager. If not him then maybe AA. Hodgy’s presence will swing the doubters and help to generate a ...

His team talk the other day, with the f word every other word was embarrassing. Not that I'm a puritan, but if you're swearing every other word, you're not communicating effectively.
Watch it and look at the players’ faces. They’re not buying into his nonsense
