Burn did play at the weekend when they were tonked 4-1 at home by Bishop.

Re: Durham FA Challenge cup

Whickham, fifth bottom of the Northern League despite all their spending for a "new era", described tonight as a "huge game" against National North side Darlington. Our side included Elliott, Bascome, Donowa and Bell, the rest youngsters, although there is a player called Steve Johnson on the bench....

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

Sensible that the price is dropped given the likely low level of interest in this tie among the disgruntled home fans. They obviously feared a very small crowd if it was pitched at the normal price. Shame there is no TV coverage but I guess they concentrate largely on the games in which non-league c...

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

Getting bigger home crowds is crucial to our future. The people we need to attract regularly in the main don't travel to the Midlands etc.

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

I guess I was hoping for a better reward, as in a home draw, having done so well in battling through three away ties, although I realise things don't work that way. We really could have done with filling BM for a big clash that the waverers could get to and with a much improved chance of winning. Ge...

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

No they won't sit at home sulking. 408 of them got off their arses and went to Tamworth. But this is still an uninspiring, s*** draw. Anyone in the draw at home would have been better.

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

If you want to get an idea of the likely level of interest from Walsall fans for the game, this is probably a fair indication. In 2016, when they were a League One side (now, of course, in League Two), they played Macclesfield (a National League side) at home in the FA Cup first round and there were...

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

According to the records, we've played Walsall 42 times in total, winning 11 of them against Walsall's 18 victories with 13 draws.

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

I think it's the sort of game that would be immediately passed over by anyone planning coverage of the round. It's just not an appealing tie and especially so with the league side being at home. We would have stood a chance with a home tie against league opposition but not with this one.

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

Personally I think it's a shite draw and just seems a real bummer to get yet another away game after already negotiating three tricky away ties. It won't be a great crowd as their fans just sound fed up to the back teeth with their club, with very little enthusiasm for the game. Even given their poo...

Re: Daily Mail report (this one is actually quite good)

Excellent report that has the tone just right, young hungry team and fans united in taking the club forward. It also captures well our fans' inbuilt fear and reserve in a tricky test like this after all that has gone before. Interesting that he refers to the "packed out" away terrace. Tamworth had t...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington Match Thread

Professional and largely controlled performance today. Tamworth looked dangerous in the first half and the great penalty save was pivotal to the outcome. Job well done by all the lads and AA.

Re: Tamworth...

Tamworth look a well resourced club these days. They have a big squad (they currently have six players out on loan) and some experienced performers. That's why they are among the favourites for the title in their league. They were even able to rest some players in their midweek victory. Certainly no...

It might be just me but I'm not really sure what you are suggesting with this post and why it needs a fans forum and what "if true it is worrying" means. And why we need an immediate update on finances.

Re: Burn Gone

One thing about AA as a manager really does stand out. If a player has ability and the right attitude, is hard-working and always gives 100% to the cause, then he is given every chance and is part of the plans, even if not necessarily in the side every game. He's pretty much said this himself. I don...

Re: Tamworth...

I think the installation of the plastic pitch has affected the view of the goal lines when stood behind the goal. The picture below was taken at the cup match against Hereford and it looks like the pitch is a fair bit lower than the one at the top of the thread which was taken when it was a grass pi...

Tamworth are 7th. Stratford are 12th with 4 wins from 11 league games. They said they sacked him because of disappointing results and performances in league and cup.

I see that Liam Hughes played up front for Bradford PA yesterday, he left Stratford after TW's sacking. God knows how many signings Bradford have made this season. They're on their third management team and each one has signed loads of players, only for them to be recycled by the next lot in charge....

Just looking at the away end we'll be housed in next Saturday and a few hundred of us should be able to get a right old racket going in this shed. Is 500+ making the trip realistic? Seems to be a fair bit of interest growing and this run will certainly boost the numbers travelling. https://lh5.googl...

Someone asked how he played and people answered as they saw it. I don't see much in the way of abuse. Ainge never looked very happy while with us and clearly wanted to move on and effectively got a permanent transfer elsewhere. I think we now have better players for the way we play. So all parties a...

Re: Ainge

He'll never again play as a striker, those days are long gone now. He's good enough at defending high balls with his head and belting it clear. And yes he was a nuisance at set-pieces because of his ability in the air. Personally I would rather have Galbraith, Storey and Laing.
