Re: Team v BPA

It's all very well having 70% possession but we've got to find a way of picking a route through these gritty, dour, defensive sides full of gamesmanship. Clearly teams have looked at the vids to see how we can struggle to break down teams when we get no time or space to pass the ball around quickly.

Re: Alfreton...

Lots of pitches, like Farsley, Leamington, Kettering and Blyth are far, far worse and much more bobbly and more difficult to play a passing game on than BM. The Arena has had work done on it over the summer but it was as rough as buggery when the last rugby games were played on it last season.

One thing I don't understand is why Wheatley pulls out of those 50/50 tackles :D. Bet the Alfreton players are still shaking from that crunching double... I know I am!

I think they're expecting the vaccine roll-out to be gathering pace in January and making a difference over some of the restrictions.

Alfreton...

It will be a real contrast in styles and the one thing we'll have to be is physically strong. Billy Heath's still foaming at the mouth at the way they lost to Leamington 4-3 after being 3-0 up at half-time. They are a massive, long ball side, led up front by 6ft 3in beast Jake Day and they'll try to...

Re: Darlington V Telford

We are operating with a bigger squad now so that we can rotate and cope when important players are missing in this hectic schedule. I'm sure AA was expecting that those who stepped in would seize their chance and deliver. It also needs pointing out that Telford had several key players missing and fi...

Re: Darlington V Telford

That was a thoroughly awful second half. Ineffective up front and vulnerable at the back at times. We could really do with some scruffy, battling points (never mind the tippy-tappy stuff) before it ends up a season of struggle in the league.

Re: FA rules on abandonment

I think with two players prone after a collision like that it was a bit surprising the game wasn't halted especially in this increasingly cautious health and safety world. Surely even Boston couldn't have complained if the game had been stopped in the circumstances. They were extremely unfortunate ...

Fylde game postponed today because Boston United player has tested positive for covid. I think we are outside the window where it has implications.

If karma works, it should be the appallingly insensitive goalkeeper.

Another £63,000 in the bank for the club if we win the tie, not to be sniffed at. I reckon a one-off away game 50/50 would be a money-spinner too if it can be done.

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20

What's happened to Curzon? They always used to be this nippy, fast-paced side full of talented young loanees who never stopped running and played it on the deck. They seem to have transformed into a big, lumbering, lump-it-up and flick-it-on, set-piece side. They do look a bit flat footed at the bac...

With his pace, goals and ability in the air, I think he has the scope to go on to bigger and better things. We've lost a good un but you couldn't stand in the way of his chance of full-time football and a huge wage rise at a club that looks awash with cash. Wonder what the link is as I can't think t...

Would be good if the NL board just outlined and explained the formula/criteria used to allocate funding as most people were under the impression it was to be centred largely around lost attendances at each club. A bit of transparency might help and could help stem some of the accusations flying arou...

Re: Kidderminster Saturday October 10th

The two managers summed it up really. Their manager said there was only one team in the game after they scored their equaliser and AA said that was because they worked harder and that was hard to take for him.
