Re: Fans forum needed

To be honest Clive Owen are a well respected firm of accountants and I doubt they will be charging the earth - the main thing is that the cashflow is managed and that we keep within the budget. I don't see John Woolnough going as any issue - I think more than likely he was spending too much time inv...

Re: Ainge

Interesting article where AA says we are contributing "a bit towards his wage" at Boston. Looks like AA and the Board did a good job in saving us some money before his contract expires. I guess the difference between Ainge and Burn is that one wants to play regularly, and the other appears not to w...

Re: Burn Gone

It's really sad that the signing of a Darlington lad should have turned into this awful saga. Whatever the rights and wrongs, thank God it has finally been brought to an end. We should not be offering 2 year contracts to anybody, ok Galbraith and Thommo are exceptions but this has been worse than t...

I think the unwillingness to go out on loan says a lot. Best scenario him going, local lad that has not done himself any favours.

Re: John Woolnough

He didn’t last long wonder what’s happened. .. It's a huge commitment in terms of time for someone on top of their day job. Perhaps too much for a volunteer to do alone. Him resigning is not necessarily an indication of anything having gone on. He needs to put his paid work ahead of his voluntary c...

really good result considering the issues we have had at the back - the players that Alun has brought in recently have done the job really well.

Re: He fought the law, and the law won

So 11 unelected judges passed judgement that an unelected Prime Minister was unlawful. We live in a Democracy? In my opinion the judges crossed a line yesterday, we know nothing about them and their political persuasion. I believe this ruling is good for Boris and for Farage - because the referendum...

Anyone worked at HC one Head Office?

Been offered a job there but I am unsure whether it’s right for me in that its an open plan office and I am used to having my own office. Anyone worked there ?

Re: Josh Heaton

I think AA should give Burn a shot - we are paying his wages after all.
We have seen with Tait that he has turned his fortunes around under Watson.
With Heaton ultimately he knew he was third choice and I doubt that would have changed for the foreseeable, waiting for an injury to happen.

Re: Josh Heaton

I think it would be good to keep him, but he needs game time - so get him out on loan to a club in the Preston area - he needs to get his confidence back.

Re: Fuck the EFL

I have been re-reading through some of the articles at the time of our demise in 2012. I still blame Raj 100%. Yes he got fucked over by Southern Cross going bust which must have seriously hurt him financially, but he should have walked away and given the club to the supporters for £1 - and let us c...

Re: International duty

I suspect when they do go off for international duty then Alun will go into the loan market - I think he won't at the moment as we can make it work with the players we have but when Bascombe is gone then Atkinson will move into centre mid - I think then we will look to get either a left or right bac...

Re: Darlington V Kettering

Dont think they had a shot at goal Our goalie made a great save at about 30 mins. A hard low shot that was dealt with brilliantly - this, to me was a key moment in the game. Apart from Mr Q walking around the pitch in what appeared to be black ladies stockings :o Last kick of the game their player ...

Re: Darlington V Kettering

Thought Liddle was outstanding today covering as right back. I was doubtful that this formation would work with Campbell upfront but the front players look to link really well. Really like the potential of Donawa - love the fact he is not scared to have a shot at goal. Great to see Heaton back and h...

Re: Gateshead game...

A draw was a fair result.
In terms of Laing I thought he did ok, they was a lack of passing options at times so he had to play it across the back or hoof it away.
Funniest bits of the night were the Physio running on and the guy on the Mic, he kept getting everything wrong ala Alan Partridge.

very good player - goal scoring midfielder. Presume he was allowed to leave because of the distance he would have to travel.

New Striker

I think on the paper the additions look great this season.
However, I think the only area where we are short (literally) is up front.
I presume Alun will see how Campbell starts and if things are not going well, will venture into the loan market for a striker.

Re: Josh Heaton

very harsh article on the BBC sport website about him - Stubbs got sacked very early on before Heaton got a chance in the first team, and then the new manager didn't fancy him so he never got a look in. I am surprised he hasn't came back as he is still young enough to get another shot, not doubt his...

Re: North Ferriby wound up

One of my favourite memories at Blackwell was the game against North Ferriby in the snow, absolutely freezing cold, stood next to a group of lads with no coats who I think were just pass through and catching a game (think they were on a lads weekend). North Ferriby threw in the towel that game, they...

Re: Will Hatfield

Hopefully this will be the midfielder we have been missing since Turnbull left. I reckon the main reason it went Pete Tonge for Tommy was that the team lacked leaders on the pitch, in this league you need characters with something about them. Main area of concern is up front at the minute, do we hav...

Re: Jordan Nicholson released

I’m sure it’s been posted in here but Jordan Nicholson has joined Reece Styche at Hereford. So (if true) Styche has notched up another Club to mark on his bedpost. Three in 12 months and counting. I never understood some fans "loyalty" to him. Yes circumstances may have meant we had to sell him, bu...

What is clear....

is that we have been over paying for players (on wages and of course travel) and paying above the market rate. Alun seems more savvy and knows what a player should be paid in this league - all these players that have moved from Blyth have presumed moved to be on similar money at Darlo. I am wonderin...

Hopefully Jameson will sign and that will be the goalkeeper no.1 position filled. I am sure the lure of first team football will be a big factor. I don't think it is wise or financially viable to have two experienced first team keepers with our reduced budget especially with the option of the loan m...

Re: Dan Maguire

I think we should forget about Maguire if York and Spendy want to chuck money at players then we need to walk away, we still are an attractive club to many a player at this level so we should be able to bring in a decent couple of strikers.
