Re: Peter Jameson signs...

Blimey you are quick off the mark :o Just listened to the interview on the York City youtube channel - looks like he wanted to go full time. Also it seems that Andy Collet is coaching at York. Wasn't he coaching with us at the start of last season? Could this be a reason for the demise of Maddison ...

What is clear....

is that we have been over paying for players (on wages and of course travel) and paying above the market rate. Alun seems more savvy and knows what a player should be paid in this league - all these players that have moved from Blyth have presumed moved to be on similar money at Darlo. I am wonderin...

Re: Signings

Hopefully Jameson will sign and that will be the goalkeeper no.1 position filled. I am sure the lure of first team football will be a big factor. I don't think it is wise or financially viable to have two experienced first team keepers with our reduced budget especially with the option of the loan m...

Re: Dan Maguire

I think we should forget about Maguire if York and Spendy want to chuck money at players then we need to walk away, we still are an attractive club to many a player at this level so we should be able to bring in a decent couple of strikers.

He also looked extremely fit for his age, it looked as though he was one of those ex-players that looked after himself fitness wise - whereas others let themselves go a bit - just shows you when your time is up its up! RIP

Re: Lee Clark

He’s a nice guy and I sincerely hope he does well there. But let’s face it, his career has been on a downward trajectory. He was in the Championship only five years ago so it’s quite a drop. And managing part-time non-league players will be different to being in charge of full time professional squ...

Re: 3 players released

Hopefully scope for the new manager to bring in a decent amount of players plus loans. The defence does need sorting out as our goals against column was shocking last year however it improved towards the end of the season. We need a midfield spoiler as we were too light weight, hopefully we will ha...

Re: Blyth statement

At the end of the day managers get sacked, leave of their own accord, Blyth cannot hold him at gun point. No doubt it will happen to us again. But as per the above posts he must have applied for the job, we were inviting applications. They are only seeking legal advice, no doubt just to put the frig...

Re: Alun Armstrong quits

I'd say he'd be a decent shout for a national league job. He's definitely better off getting out of Blyth before he has to deal with next season anyway. Whether he comes to us or goes somewhere else. Exactly, like what Martin Gray should have done at the end of the season with Darlo. If your hearts...

Re: New Manager Interviews this week

I am going to nail my colours to the mast and say our new manager is Alun Armstrong - done a very good job at Blyth - former Darlo player, having the rug from under him pulled - obviously it goes without saying that he wants to get out of this league as soon as possible - wonder what assurances (if ...

Re: Omar Holness - great article

This is something that goes on at all clubs but does baffle me - when there is no manager and yet players get offered new deals. Yes they might be good players in eyes of the fans, but will they be the type of player the new manager wants, will they fit into their system - also it limits the amount ...

Would also think that quite a few fans are holding off until they see who the new manager is.
Spot on, I think the appointment of a good manager at this level will give the boost another boost :)

Re: Released players

Gateshead - pretty much everyone has been released So get Ben Clarke in and half a dozen decent Heed lads and its job done :D Some good lads to be had, mostly local too Maybe we have to "release" a few ourselves first when new Manger arrives before we can sign anyone? Stating the obvious I know. Or...

I hope Jake will turn out for us, I'd be surprised if he didn't. Our young keeper should be on the bench today, let's hope the events of the last few days don't stop him getting his chance. I would be surprised if Jake didn't play, he needs to look after himself now and make sure he secures a contr...

Re: Trotman extends contract

Interesting how players sign new contracts one week and the manager gets the sack the following week, you wonder who is making the footballing decisions within clubs. It doesn't take a genius to understand that Trotman is a very good player at this level, but with a decision yet to be made on the ma...
