Re: New signings and outgoings

Surely we need to temper our expectations this season. AA has made a good start and I believe will build a team that plays for each other and is fit, but he has had to start from the beginning in building for this season, our budget doesn't allow us to compete with a fair number of "local" non leag...

Re: Jordan Nicholson released

Well they were relegation fodder for much of last season, Nicholson was too, and styche is very much dependent on the way the wind is blowing, so unless they've made some other good signings it isn't pointing to a promotion push for me. I hope they have some grafters to do the work for them or its ...

Re: New signings and outgoings

If we are "up against the budget" as reported above we badly need to release Glover, Ainge and Burn to make any progress towards having the bare bones of a team. If we assume that two of the three are on top wack then you might get 5 from 3 on more reasonable wages, but you can't expect big signing...

I've used the Hospitality and the staff and match-day experience were excellent and they were particularly accommodating of my very young children. I'm 6"4 so the view wasn't an issue, my 5"0 wife found it difficult; the same is true for almost any entertainment we attend. The only disappointment wa...

If his wages were as astronomical as Styche and other signed by Tommy, I'd argue we could get much better value for money, as excellent as he is.

Re: Signings

Has Jameson become a decent keeper since he left us? He always was a decent keeper. IMO he was very good in the Evostik and competent in the NLN, even when he started making mistakes. Half of the fan base had an exaggerated dislike of his abilities. It's probably likely that he has improved since t...

Re: Dan Maguire signs!!

I would be quite happy for Amar Purewal to come back. Purewal was out of his depth in the glue league.Certainly not up to our level now. He wasn't out of his depth at all in the Evostik! Maybe the NLN was a step too far but then again he only made a handful of appearances at this level after a long...

The majority ground ownership would need be held by DFCSG, not DFC, to prevent exactly what you’ve described happening.

Re: Notes from the fans' forum

I think the daft part is having to have seats in place before you "might" go up. You can spend a fortune and never go up or spend it, go up and come straight down. A years grace would appear to the more sensible approach. I suppose if we can decent crowds in and perhaps a cup run we'd have some spa...

Re: Notes from the fans' forum

I don’t get a lot of the purpose of the ground grading criteria - most of the seats and cover are superfluous to most clubs at each respective level.

What is the point?

Burn should never have been given a two-year contract, especially when it was him - allegedly - that approached us to sign. Ainge should never have been given a two-year contract after his serious injury either. benefit of hindsight? IIRC both players seen as positive signings when they joined? Mos...

Re: Signings

Definitely do not want to see Ainge up-front again next season, it was awful to watch. Personally I thought he was half decent in the first 8 or so matches, but we didn't play to his strengths. He was out injured after that, then in and out of the team mostly as a defender, with a few cameos up top...

Re: Signings

Ainge has two problems last season:

1 - He was horrifically unfit throughout.
2 - He is a target man who relies on wingers getting into the box and whipping balls which is the opposite of how we played.

I hope he does somehow because a roaring success but I can’t see it.

The appeal for Armstrong for me is that he’ll probably be able to bring in a good few lads front blyth. Not sure whether that will be the same for Bower. We’ve got a big job on to rebuild A very rational reasoning - both are quality candidates. I'm also surprised and impressed that we've had no lea...

The income from food is negligible in such small amounts. They'd probably be better just renting out the huts to local traders as concessions, for a token amount. Support some local businesses. Food trucks and the like are all the rage these days, i dare say someone would be prepared to do it and g...

I’m shocked that Alan White has got 5 votes! Surely part of the problem rather than the solution? I’d also say that a) we d...
