There is a Quakers connection to West Ham's 1975 cup-winners - Tommy Taylor was our manager for a while - did he do anything noteworthy with us?
I think we were generally crap under Taylor, but did he sign the bald eagle Barry Conlon?

Re: Darlington V Chorley

What we need to aim for is to start the game in the manner that we went about the Scunny game. Chorley have occasionally been slow starters, as in their last match against Boston, and we need to get at them from the off with help from what should be a decent crowd. It would be good to go some way t...

Taylor's done well today. We've been second to the ball and didn't close down on the edge of the box. They deserved their win.

For me is keep the following - Griffiths , Hedley , Lees , Barrow , Platt , Hatfield, Salkeld , Cornish , Nelson , Main Undecided on Lindley and Rivers at this point , the rest I think we should move on Maybe lindley will have a good career, I hope he does, but I don't think it will be with us pers...

Re: Rushall tickets

Looking on NLTV website our game at Rushall is not listed as being available to watch, which is disappointing. I would have thought there would be plenty of demand from Darlington supporters to stream this game given how crucial it is. I can see that we could take around 400 fans, especially if it ...

Re: Curzon V Darlington

I'm pretty sure someone did some analysis on twitter a while ago that shows Curzon are well run and generate plenty of revenue off the pitch so they're not subsidised.

Plenty of other clubs who are far worse examples.

Armstrong looked utterly broken after beck left, and that very plainly seeped into the team. Jacob Blyth flopped, but he spent his whole time with us hearing interviews in which Armstrong implied he wasn't good enough. Whatever Armstrong did before then - and a whole load of it was good to great - f...

Talking of injury prone players, I have a memory of Noel Whelan coming on as a sub at the Arena and pulling his hamstring as he ran onto the pitch and had to be taken off straight away. Please tell me I haven’t imagined it and this really happened 🤔 Almost - I reckon he lasted maybe two or three mi...

Also, that vile Hartlepool-ish away kit needs to be consigned to the dustbin of history. Just as much to blame for our relegation as Gowling ;) Why has it taken so long this season to root out the cause of the problem? This is obviously a major contributor, and evidence we should never wear blue ag...

Shame other results didn't quite go to plan today - Gloucester seem to be putting a run together so we might need to catch up with some other teams. Spennymoor are starting to get sucked in and their form seems to be horrible. We always had to catch up with Southport, Banbury and Rushall really. Ca...

Re: Darlington V Scunthorpe

This might be a bit negative but a windy game could level things out and hamper the better team more than the other. That would be in our favour of course - every little helps and if Asante plays the ball might bump into him and confuse their keeper on the way in at a queer angle. I can't imagine h...

For a Northern League side Redcar Athletic have clearly got some serious amount of money behind them to have signed Dale Hopson, Adam Boyes, Jason Kennedy, Curtis Round and Kev Burgess.
And yet in the fullness of time I'm sure they'll go exactly the same was as marske

Not a lot of creativity in that line up. But then you could say that about every match so far this season.
I think it shows pretty clearly where btb2 needs to be spent.

Is Griffiths injured?

I think the Scarborough home game was too, but I assumed it to be so...

100% this - no way Gray unites the fan base. The same can be said for Hodson too - far too many people see Frank Tweddle's book on us as their sole source of managerial inspiration. The only thing that will unite the fanbase is winning matches. The reservations about MG would be largely pushed asid...

For me Martin Gray is the obvious choice until the end of the season, he's available, he take's no prisoners - dropping out of this league will set us back years, the people that don't want him back need to bite their tongue for now if it means we stay up. There is no obvious other choice. Needs mu...

Well I for one certainly didn't expect a slightly nebulous green energy "consultancy" to go pop without paying its bills. Perhaps we should have gone for something more consistently reliable, like a bored ape crypto token exchange.

Dial G for Glenwoods is it now then?
