Do you really think League 2 players would not add anything to our squad going from level 7 to level 6??? I know its a great squad we have at our level, but come on.

Re: Gateshead release thread

I dont think we should get over obsessed with the comings and goings at Gateshead. We've seen MG look at players from much further afield than the north east i.e. Carts & Gask from Halifax and Manchester.

We will acquire players on what they will give to the team rather than where they are based.

Re: Blyth V Workington

We all know, too well, the nature of the beast. It is what it is though. Its a part of the English football landscape and wont change as harsh as it is. In a one match situation it is a little bit like when QPR beat Derby in the playoff final. Derby bossed the game from start to 89th and QPR scored ...

We also need to consider any out goings. I am sure with the season we have had some of our players will be on other clubs radar. Gray has aways said he would not stand in anyones way to progress. Good thing the players we currently have want to play for us so it would take an exeptiona offer for th...

Re: Signings

Something else to consider is the range of where we are capturing players from. The likes of Cartman, Gaskell & Hardy are far from local. MG I imagine will be looking much further a field than Gateshead and Hartlepool for individuals that will improve our squad.

But they won't will they, otherwise they would have been here after the NL promotion or the Evostick Div 1 promotion. It's not like we've had any seasons of struggle is it. They are coming for a day out, a few drinks and a few no doubt for the possibility of trouble. I agree, I think there are a lo...

Re: The Squad for the run in

Amar is a left winger (and forward) though. Dont recall him ever playing on the right. For me I think Mitchell has the legs to play as a wing back meaning you can play Portas and Scott in the middle, Amar on the left and Thompson in a roaming role which defaults back to right midfield if they start ...

Whitby also came and gave a very good account of themselves. One of the best performances at HP from the opposition this season, but as we know have also been relegation threatened.

I believe so. Spent the first 2 years with the club 2 weeks away from fitness.

Today though, i thought he was a great replacement. His cross field balls were causing havoc all day.

Re: STAMFORD MATCH ~ REPORT FROM THEIR LOCAL NEWSPAPER!

Just read it myself. Wasnt at the match, but it certainly looks like a very one sided report. I did note though that Paul Bastock was in goal for them. He is 45 and played against us for St Neots last year pulling off a wonder save from Thompson in the first half. The guy clearly loves just football...

I'm another in the Turnbull camp. Watching him every week is an absolute joy. In his interview pre-season where he proclaimed he was the best midfielder in the Conference and will be again, I though he was a bit of a Billy Big Bollocks but he has delivered and then some. A mention too (like others) ...

I have 2 theories. MGs planned squad numbers are currently too high with either expectation of departures or the Turnbull signing coming as a bonus... ...or it could be a change of heart from Hatchy. He apparently lives down south and hops on the train every Saturday to sit on the bench. Could be th...

Adam Mitchell

Does anyone know whether Gillingham or any other club are continuing their interest in Mitchell?

Would obviously be a blow to the paying staff, but losing players for them to go full time would be a nod to both the progress of the club and the player since joining us.

The officer realised he couldn't get passed so threw the kid across the stand and walked passed him. If there's a need for police pr...
