Re: Season 23/24
Not sure I understand the negativity. Looking at the players in and players out lists, other than Jack Lambert, I don't think we're going to miss anyone that has gone. It was disappointing when Purver left but, by all accounts, Platt is an upgrade. Wheater was seldom fit so Lees is an improvement on...

Re: Darlington FC communications
At least he got a statement announcing his departure, which is more than what Alex Purver got. Purver captained the club in the absence of Moke, played 85 games for the club & was Player of the Season. Poor. Do you know for sure that Scarborough didn't make their announcement in advance of an agree...

Re: AA has to go now surely
It's noticeable that the players you quote that we signed, improved and sold on at a profit are forwards; and that the part of the team that struggles most and looks disorganised is the defence, despite some of them being decent players. Maybe it's not AA who is the weakness in the management team.

Re: Dale Eve...
Late sixties we had a keeper John Hope. Believe we sold him to Newcastle and then he moved on to Sheffield Utd. He was in goal for them at Old Trafford when George Best scored a stunning goal. On a pitch that looked like a mudbath ran from near the centre circle, riding a series of tackles that wou...

Strange how some people view the game. As we walked out we were saying how good it is to see a team that works so hard for each other.

Re: Darlo v Boston Match Thread
I just think we got it wrong from the start last night, trying to accommodate bringing Maguire into the side. If we wanted to give him a start then Charman or Campbell should have been rested and on the bench, and Holness or Hatfield brought in. We gave Wheatley way too much to do on his own in midf...

Re: Ground share
I really can't get my head around the hysteria about the Arena in this context. I'd always be firmly against a long term or permanent return to the Arena because its simply awful watching football in a 25'000 capacity stadium with 1500 people inside. But all the faffing on about "what it represents...

Re: Ground share
Apparently the arena is to be demolished to make way for housing and will replaced with a 7,000 capacity stadium for DMP. Obviously I have no idea how genuine this is but it will be interesting to see what comes out of their EGM. I thought I heard that the land immediately opposite the Arena (owned...

Give your all , expect a Contract extension.
Whispering grass suggests they are being blocked .
So can't expect 100% on pitch .
If not matched off it .
Then I will be called a Troll for telling the truth .

This matter should have been resolved sometime ago, it's not like we didn't know he was joining us in January & we should have foreseen this problem before now. Re: BT Sport coverage Darlo vs. Walsall
We came across well. I had some friends over who knew nowt about us, and i didn't have to explain too much, so that's a sign they did something right. I thought the ground did look good, apart from the open end (which was also weirdly empty when the rest of the ground looked packed - it should've m...

I’m in hospitality which is totally full I’ve been told, that’s the first time this season. TBH when it’s that full it’s oftern difficult to see from the balcony. However who cares for this game as atmosphere should be cracking. Are the numbers the same as usual ? Just wondered if any of the camera...

Re: Be sure to get a ticket
I doubt if they'll be any tickets left by tomorrow. Perhaps the club should have raised ticket prices, like some clubs do when they have big matches, especially if we know that demand would exceed supply. We want floating fans to start coming along regularly, so it's no good pissing them off by mak...

Re: Darlington away vs Bishop Auckland
In the short cameo performances we've seen from Glover since he came here he clearly has ability. As he's obviously getting stronger with age he potentially could be a really good player for us. If we do let him go elsewhere I hope we have a sell on clause included.

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor
There was a clear decision made by Spenny to start going down easily in the second half in the final third of the pitch. They didn't do it in the first half but, particularly in the first 20 minutes or so after the break, they went over at every opportunity and the ref fell for it every time.

Galbraith was out of his depth in the middle a division below. If Wheatley is out it is imperative to play the extra midfielder. Absolutely terrific performance from everyone. Hughes was fabulous as a centre half and rightly was awarded the MOTM. Re: New venue required to . . .
Council made a fast buck buy selling a lot of the town centre retail about 10 years ago to property companies based in London. They charged and still charge London rates and with the financial spiral since 2008 businesses large and small just can't afford or justify paying extortionate rates. It's ...
