Re: Darlington v Buxton

Huge relief. Despite the dominance of possession it did feel like we were going to let a poor Buxton side get away with a scrappy 1-0 victory with a silly own goal. You’ve got to give SW credit for the positive substitutions and Nelson even more credit for bouncing back in a really big way. Gap is n...

Re: Darlington v Buxton

Wonder if Dan Maw might be given his first chance with so many defenders out. Extra fan points for those who even remember him 😁

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

What a massive missed opportunity last night was. Very pleasing first half performance where we’ve actually created the chances to make our superiority count. Yes it’s a little disheartening to go in at HT one goal behind but why is the mentality in the group so weak that it causes us to completely ...

Ironic but for me, the best we have played away for a long time .
First half perhaps but this second half has been an absolute joke. You would not think this was a team fighting to avoid relegation..

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

Every game feels like all or bust at the minute, Saturday gives us a glimmer of hope but if we do our usual Tuesday night horror show after a win then we’ll be right back to square one with fewer games to spare. Think we should stick with a formation that worked well on Saturday but I wouldn’t be su...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

I’m slightly surprised to see Sukar’s loan at Scarborough being extended. Whilst he’s not the world beater some Darlo fans made him out to be, he is an option in a position we’re short on at the minute, particularly with Lawlor being injured.

Thanks for the confirmation Hednesford!

https://www.hednesfordtownfc.com/2024/0 ... ins-pitmen
To be fair, they have announced it before the FA have signed off the papers.
Now been deleted along with the tweet, a bit embarrassing on their side.

Moke still on loan, Rowe has joined Hednesford on a permanent deal. Presume at the very least their will be a goalkeeper coming in today.

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll

How many times under Gowling did we bemoan playing well, but not really hurting the opposition? It is kind of happening under Watson now. Never. We never played well under Gowling. Every game was tedious negative plodding dogshit and I hate him for it. Under Watson, although results haven't really ...

Armstrong went public last month making himself available for a managerial role again. That could well be a hint that the notice period had been served.
Where was this out of interest? Haven’t heard anything from him.

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll

We were fully spent up before Hatfield came in, that’s what we were told. I’m not sure where you think there’s dishonesty, DJ said again at a fans forum whilst JG was in charge that we were overspending. Clearly, nothing has gone to plan this season and the board have stretched the budget in attemp...

As i said previously, the board made a mistake trusting Armstrong with a 2 year contract and this years budget Since then it’s been scrambling to catch up which is costing us even more, the argument for keeping Gowling wasn’t he was good, just that the die had been cast and we were spending more an...

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24

It was the same against Tamworth, if we had a couple of forwards with bit of pace on the pitch that fat tub of lard wouldn’t have been able to cruise through the game, instead we had one up front and the bloke could have had a deck chair out there. Who are you going for exactly? Salkeld, Curry, Riv...

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24

Bottom line is that the players are not strong enough, fit enough and just blatantly not good enough to keep us in this league. When did we last beat a strong, well organised, physical team………answer is, so long ago I cannot remember. Yes the ref was awful, yes they rolled around injured but even af...

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24

Alfreton Town - what a bunch of twats! They roll around, waste time, break up play, tug shirts, they utilise every trick in the book - not just a few times, but as a fully blown ideology right through a match. Watching them play football is a dull, boring and frustrating afternoon and if I lived in...

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll

From taking to fellow fans I don't detect in the silent majority a groundswell of opinion for people who have made mistakes to resign, be chucked out, guillotined or put in the stocks in the market place for a period of self-reflection. It's clear mistakes have been made that led us to this point a...

Sorry, are we saying we have a GK coach who doesn't actually attend training sessions and just turns up to games when Newcastle aren't playing (presume the suggestion here is he's a Newcastle fan and is watching them play, rather than working?). Re: Brackley v Darlington

Curry might be best as a super sub coming on - I'm not convinced he can do any of the things Main can do in terms of holding the ball up. Setting with two up front against Brackley is a risk, however I am all for trying him instead of Nelson who has brought zero goals to the party this season. We n...

Re: Banbury V Darlington

If we’re trying to take any kind of positives from Tuesday night, or suggest it represents some sort of improvement, we’re kidding ourselves. We see that type of performance all the time from this side. I actually believe that SW is getting somewhere close to the best out of these players. The squad...

Question is, do we hope for the best as things stand, or now we have found another forward who can make us tick, do we back Watson further and throw caution to the wind so we have an even better chance of avoiding the drop? Justin Donowa is available for loan, so I hear. Imagine what he could bring...

Re: Darlington v Hereford

That was much more like it, strong at the back, pace up front and bodies thrown on the line when necessary. That’s exactly what you want to see from a team who is fighting to avoid the drop. Main was everything we haven’t had at any point this season. Someone up there who’s fit, confident and willin...
