Young lad called Luke Armstrong floating around who could be going out on loan?
Considering he done well at National League level, then had a pop at League 1, I don't think he will popping into National North anytime soon.

Re: Dan Maguire signs!!

We may just start with Ainge up front and see how it goes for a while? We will sign a striker, just a question of who really. Interested to see how Armstrong does on this front, he was given Maguire so an early challenge for him no how to get someone similar in his squad. Anyone you would fancy Les...

Really good player, think he will do well at Harrogate a good opportunity for him to play at the top end of non league but still be professional.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the Football League in the next year or two.

Scott Fenwick signing for Gateshead apparently. Whilst he didn’t do much with us, not sure he got into it really. Seems a decent enough signing for them. What happened with him at darlington? I know he was not there long He didn't get chance at Darlo. He also didn't show much in his few brief appea...

Don't you need the UEFA A to run a youth academy.

So it doesn't really matter who it excludes, if they don't have the qualifications then they can't do the role.

Isn't Wood still the chairman of Hampton and Richmond FC. Still down as chairman of Hampton & Richmond but was also Club President at Gateshead until some point last season. Presume it's one of those that looks good at this stage, a bit like our advisory board of McConachie, Hodgson & Chapman (or w...

Re: Gateshead relegated to NLN

Budget of 375k for next season. First of all that's not going to get you much in terms of full time footballers, secondly they're living in cloud cuckoo land if they think they can generate that sort of budget in any case - unless they have a money man putting six figures in. For context, we can't ...

Re: More signings pls xoxo

I believe Maguire has concerns over playing time at spennymoor due to the system they play and Taylor currently has that role , also that the offer he has is very much determined on performance related additions I concur with what you are saying. He also has offers from full time clubs but it’s whe...

Re: More signings pls xoxo

Insane numbers that we can’t compete with running a prudent and sensible financial model. I reckon Maguire would have loved to come and play under Armstrong again and with players he’s played with previously, but I personally wouldn’t turn down that offer, got to look after yourself financially. Wh...

Re: More signings pls xoxo

Literally against all odds if we got Maguire.
We can’t pay him what he has been offered or offer him expectation of going up.

The only card we have is that Armstrong has managed him and he would get a decent wage but not what he can get elsewhere.

Believe he is still in talks with a number of clubs.

Think Dunphy is stepping away now, not sure what that means for them.

They either have some good serious plans or hey are going to be in trouble half way through the season.

Whilst I don't have any real issues with the idea, in fact I promote the idea of us looking long term for stadia, however the idea we can reduce costs by 1m by getting fans to complete jobs just won't happen. Health and safety, timing of jobs, complications, you just need professionals, the things f...

Head of Academy about to be advertised apparently, feel sorry for Whitey TBH as he has to apply for the role. Yes i know, i'm just very badly trying to argue that the FA should have some kind of mechanism to protect against these situations. Essentially, i'm saying 'Darlington 1883' should have been allowed to play in the Conference North, and should have been recognised as a continuation of Darlington FC ...

Those teams you mention were not relegated as far as Darlington is that what you are saying? The reason being is that the rule had changed by then, from a Darlo point of view we are the example. This is what happens to you, we are the precedent and Hereford followed it. Whilst it may seem harsh it h...

Im sure he will bring a few more through the gate been a toon legend and that but whether they still come if it goes wrong remains to be seen Extra fans only come along via a slow build up of a club in the community or winning every week. A big name as manager brings nothing if you aren't winning.

Given their run in 2nd half of last season and further squad strengthening, then AFC Telford are worth a look
Telford dropped out of the play off spots in the run in and have sold their main striker.

They will be decent but can see why they are lower odds.

All depends on what White is on and if we can afford him, will he take a pay cut to just be looking after the Academy rather than that and being assistant. Darlo's turnover is probably between around £500k/£600k (including BTB) but that provides a footballing budget (inc management) of say £300k/£340k - Disclaimer these are rough estimates/guesses. Guessing also, but in agreement that your guess is not a million miles away from the actual figures. We ...
