Re: Asante thread
I hope the club are negotiating to terminate his contract - it is clear that he is not fit and no longer needed. Do we know if his contract ends at the end of the season? On another note we have signed Cardo Siddick who has an awful injury track record - we need to avoid signing players on long ter...

Re: 2022/23 FINANCIAL RESULTS
Not looked through fully but basically we were about £50k overspend after BTB or at least how it looks. Think we done something similar last year and again season 23/24. That buffer will disappear soon enough and we will have less to spend and very little fall back options for a bad season. We are r...

Re: Matty Young
Yeah if selected looks like he is in Morocco Thu 21st March.
Currently loan ends after Peterborough Sports on Sat 16th March, would hope he can make this game. Looks like he would miss Rushall Olympic away if he signs until end of the season.

Re: Darlington v Buxton
Are they any Armstrong fan boys? The general output of playing Darlington down, went too far from Management to club board members. I think AA had just hit his limit of rebuilding teams, finding players and seeing them sold. He had done it for a good period and his energy levels had gone. From a clu...

Re: Kings Lynn v Darlington 6/01/24
Asante definitely needs some pace around him, which clearly Salkeld and Curry can offer in and around him. At the moment just happy we put up a fight today, hopefully that's part of what Watson brings to us.

Re: Who next?
Whitby manager Nathan Haslam if we accept relegation is now nailed on, would be my choice. Used to the division below and turning out a reasonable team on an average budget (you would think). By all accounts applied last time when Gowling was given the opportunity. Either way we are now skint and lo...

Re: GOWLING OUT
Unfortunately I think there has already been too much damage done to rescue things this season. It's clear that keeping JG won't see a sudden dramatic upturn in fortunes and it would be expecting a lot for a new man to come in and have yet another reorganisation and possibly some more recruitment a...

Re: GOWLING OUT
We need battlers in the team - back to basics would be 4-4-2 with the below involved. Hedley Griffiths Hatfield Hazel (with some support around him, not this lone striker rubbish) Burton (seems happy to mix it a bit) Gowling instead has signed a load of young kids, thrown them into the team and they...

Re: Kaine Felix
Felix hasn't looked like a good player recently. Although I agree Rivers and Salkeld haven't offered anything better. We lack creative quality since Lambert left. Last few games Salkeld has looked like making a contribution but his drive forward has not quite hit goal contribution levels, which at t...

Seems good business to me, Felix had blistering pace but nothing else and his goals record was really poor. This new lad sounds like a great prospect so let's see how he gets on tomorrow. Strong belief/expectation he has applied, I would assume he has a decent chance. Not convinced by someone updating wikipedia but wouldn't surprise me if he was successful.

Re: Curzon crowd
Has there ever been a game postponed for a waterlogged pitch at BM? No. Nathan has already put pictures on twitter, the pitch looks totally fine I don’t think there has, certainly since the drainage was done a few years ago. We've been quite lucky with weather in the last few years. Though of cours...

Re: Club ownership
The club doesn't sell one share. Costs too much to process and I am assuming DFCSG would not allow small holding take up currently.
Any share sales needs to have the approval of DFCSG and to make it worthwhile would need to be a decent amount.

Stod doesn't work on the sports desk anymore, however my understanding is he still completes work on DFC to help promote the club and obviously he is foremost a supporter. Not sure what some people want, Echo doesn't do any stories about DFC then that's rubbish, a lifelong supporter who can help tha...

Re: BTB
BTB is superb and a credit to a fan owned club. However to move forward and pull in investment the model has to change, I’m not sure whether the new three DFC Directors are investing in the club whether by a long term loan to raise money it would certainly be interesting to know. Are there other we...

So far 449 contributors have raised around £109,000. I think in the past we have had about 600 people pledging, so either we have around 150 holding back or we have lost a number of investors. Lets hope it is the former. But we had over 200 investments in the last three days, last year. So this beh...

Re: D.J. interview online now.
I disagree that National North is our limit long term but I do admit that it's our likely limit currently. I was desperate to reach the playoffs this season and to give it a go, but was actually quite nervous how a promotion would affect us next season, we just aren't ready off the pitch or on it. A...

Re: Meeting with board
Yeah kind of agree with the above. What was the point? The stadium vagueness is particularly tedious. Presumably they now have to find time to concoct an excuse because the town didn’t vote as instructed. Who has to concoct an excuse, what for and why? Not sure if this is a serious point, or more a...

Re: Meeting with board
But AA will want a similar size squad still, not like we would get rid of those three and not sign three other players. Yes we didn't get much from them but I would assume AA still wants the same size squad, just get more from them.

Re: Meeting with board
We are currently needing to reduce budget by about £80k I think (pretty sure that's around the reserve reductions we have done). Some of this I assume will be made up from any Beck left over money and if we hit the £150k BTB, however still a drop in player/management spend of rough guess £40k/£60k P...

Re: King's Lynn
Bishops Stortford (224 miles) just promoted to Step 2 may well get placed in the North it seems. I think there are four candidates Oxford City, St Albans, Bishop Stortford and Braintree. I guess it will boil down to the aggregate mileage they would be subjected to. I’ve got vague memories of Bishop...

Re: Meeting with board
Yeah promotion would have caused us a lot of issues, I was never bothered at this stage for promotion. However I wanted us to make the play offs and I would have wanted us to win each game but if we missed out in the playoffs it was probably a decent enough scenario.

Re: Meeting with board
I am guessing a reduced budget for staff/players will be one where everyone has to get behind or may have to look for pastures new.
I would assume this would/should have been discussed when AA signed his new two year contract. Not making the play offs has probably hit us by about between £10k-£20k.

Accounts have good bits and bad bits in, nothing to worry about but we are at our top end of budget at this point. Debt overall reducing and as mentioned most of our debt is owed really to our own owners and will probably be turned into shares at some point. Cup runs and player sales are our only wa...

A little underwhelming tbh- are cleethorpes one league below us or more than that? As others have stated though we do need some one else to rotate Nelson.
