Rumour I heard was that the grounds man quit because he wanted to follow the maintenance plan provided by the company that laid the pitch but the rugby club wouldn’t let him. Stop stirring ... Re: Motherwell game

Decent assessment Les but don't forget the quality of the opposition who were very fit and more physical. We will get better and considering this is virtually a brand new team then that was very satisfying especially at the back and midfield.AA will be working on our play in the final third over the ...

Re: Motherwell game

It's extremely early days of course but I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets the strong impression that AA knows exactly what he's doing and is a man with a clear plan even when he has to juggle things on a tight budget. Spoke to AA after the game and he certainly came across well and is no mug.T...

Re: Motherwell game

Pretty much agree with what has been said, much better than last season, more shape, movement and better fitness levels.Considering this was our first game, we certainly have them a far closer game than last year and our defence and midfield were streets better than last season and have 2 key player...

Re: Adam Campbell

Spoke to a Notts County fan about him. Worked very hard but struggled with shooting. A sign of low confidence maybe, so hopefully he can regain that confidence. Best get him to wear earplugs then if he misses any chances in front of the Tin Shed. Practically a new team now and will need time to gel...

Re: New signings and outgoings

The 2 managers are poles apart,AA is doing a great job imo putting a good looking squad together after picking up the pieces of shambolic recruiting by Tommy. These 2 are total opposites and I honestly think we would have had another relegation fight on our hands if DJ had not made his decision. I think Jimmy Seal did a milk round. This makes me think of the time when York were in the old second division and a few of their players came our way Eddie R and Seal but also John Stone who might have been the best of the lot. For want of ..... who was the best player we ever had from York? John ...

Whickham's lowest gate last season was 63 and their highest 310 when they hosted their table topping neighbours Dunston. They had several gates of under 100. Re: New signings and outgoings

We are I’ve heard right against the budget so don’t expect any miracle forward coming in. AA can work wonders with his players and bring the best out of them but no disrespect to Blyth the anticipation of DFC fans is a whole other league, let’s hope he can produce the goods this time round. Could not agree more Lucan ,another 6 games and we would have been in deep trouble. If we had kept Tommy on ,how many of the old squad would still be here. Most of them I reckon, that's how clueless he was, we are in a far better place now thank god.

Re: New signings and outgoings

A massive overhaul has taken place, I suppose the good news is that most of our new players know each other and the manager from previous efforts. Personally, I never really gelled with a lot of the players who played last season - so I'm not bothered that they've left, and as for the multitude of ...

Re: Chris Elliott

So you’re declaring he looks a decent signing off the basis of a couple of YouTube videos, despite having never seen him before. Can’t say that makes sense to be honest. He did spent the majority of last season picking splinters out of his backside on Evenwood’s bench, so, as a radical thought, let...

Signed, according to the Echo. Backup goalkeeper everywhere he's been, as far as I can see. Wonder if we'll go for him, and he'll compete with a loan keeper from Boro as was the rumour. Hemming again, perhaps? He will be first choice according to AA. Saw a couple of videos of Alfreton and he looked...

If your club has just made yet another signing to gather splinters in his arse on the prideofcountydurham bench, should you not be sharing this on your heavily oversubscribed forum along with the other 2,000 season ticket holders. Pretty sure he had a garage business in Consett whilst playing for us, very quick winger similar to Wainy, remember him breaking his neck in a game at Feethams and was never the same player again and left to concentrate on his business.
