Re: Latest friendly

Announcement expected tomorrow from the PM today with CMO and CSO doing theirs today. I think today is a scene set and tomorrow is going to be the what it means. In a nutshell hospital admissions have gone up as have the number of deaths, the rate of infection is doubling every week and if it conti...

Re: Latest friendly

Any news coming from the club friendlies, interviews, player fitness updates. Nothing like keeping supporters engaged. As far as I'm concerned the most important piece of news we are waiting for is from the government regarding crowds, there must surely be an announcement soon with only a fortnight...

/quote] Covid secure is an utter myth. Covid security comes from individual behaviours which no one but the individual themselves can control. Agreed, in part the only time we'll ever be truly "covid secure" is when the virus is out of circulation, for as long as it is here all we can do is do our ...

Only three weeks to go before our first home game. Are the club going to have any test events as I'm sure these have to have taken place before the season starts.
They won't be necessary if what has been suggested in the statement above comes to pass.

Re: impact on ground capacity

Just become aware of this, apparently it was posted 4 days ago and does't appear to have been mentioned on here. A statement from the National League: The Chairman of the National League, Brian Barwick, has today written to The Rt Hon Oliver Dowden CBE MP, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Me...

Some short memories me thinks. Can no-one else remember FatJosh/WasteAucklandgate? Showed his class then. You're thinking of Big Tim, later became the club's photographer! Still a classic though. http://www.darlofc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22038&p=281967&hilit=West+Auckland#p281967

Interesting, wonder if we'll see a similar roll out for the National League? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54014149 Supporters will be allowed back into two games in English Football League competitions next week as test events. Re: Ground share

And that proves my point Arena worshippers don't care if we can get more fans in the Arena than Blackwell meadows they just want to go back. This has been planned by shady characters for years. The Arena will not pass a safety inspection as its a rusting shithole I have already informed the relevant...

Re: impact on ground capacity

Minimum figure at our level is 3,000. So if the same figures were applied - a 15% cap would be 450, and 30% cap would be 900. In short, moving to the Arena would be a waste of money, if this is how they end up doing it for Step 2 as well. We shall see. I would imagine the NL/NLN/NLS will follow a s...

Re: Ground share

This makes no sense. Any club could arrange to play at a suitably sized venue for the period of the restrictions if they feel it necessary. The suggestion isn’t just for Darlington. For many (probably most) clubs at our level this won’t be necessary. Using a %age of the minimum capacity required fo...

Re: Ground share

So by your logic all grounds should exactly equal in size post lock down? Just so not to be seen as unfair? This is total stupidity by the league and may be the end of some clubs. No. Personally I'd have curtailed the league until such a time it was safe for grounds to reopen at 100% capacity, howe...

Re: Ground share

If I read your post correctly, even if a club in NLN/NLS were to play home games at say Wembley Stadium they are still limited to 450 spectators That seems bizarre and illogical. It also means there is unlikely to be a financial case to play at the Arena until those restrictions are limited Indeed,...

Going back to H1987’s point about the Arena almost killing the club, I think it’s unfounded. No it isn't. Apparently the arena is to be demolished to make way for housing and will replaced with a 7,000 capacity stadium for DMP.
