Re: Burger van

Eh Scott? Not the same thing at all. I was simply putting a rumour to bed and stating a fact. I have no idea who the club use now but just like any decision, it would have been a group one, not down to an individual.

Re: Burger van

Ian was very generous. He didnt charge is at all! We got 30% commission from total takings on his vans, not from profit. He charged us £8 a head for two course meals and practically did the players food for nothing. On top of that, he arranged the transport to pick the arena covers up, helped pick u...

Re: No more match updates for now

I was randomly blocked on twitter from the official_darlo account a couple of weeks ago. I contacted Laura as I wasn't best pleased and she looked into it for me. She confirmed I was blocked, got me unblocked but she doesnt know who did it and why. I just found it odd as I don't personally know the ...

Some steep learning curves for the old board I guess, hoepfully we have learnt these lessons and can budget/plan accurately now. Steep learning curves indeed. Re: How can i donate straight to the club?

Ask the question and use my reply as an example. I would see the position as an account manager/new business role myself therefore you don't generally earn commission on current annual spend, not if it's money coming in anyway which this is. For new business, you could have a different commission st...

Re: How can i donate straight to the club?

I was fully for a commission only position, works extremely well for clubs like ours. I think what Divas is saying though is that you can't earn commission on everything and there has to be a starting point. I work in a sales role and it's all target driven. My target this month might be set at say ...

Re: Name change..

Officially, the club has charged its name. When I was a director, the company was called Darlington FC 1883 then in February 2013, it changed to Darlington 1883. The CIC started out as 'enabling sport' (no idea why) then the name changed again to 1883 CIC in February 2013 then it changed its name ag...

Re: CIC Twitter account - new badge?

I saw this new logo a few moths ago (minus the 12th man thing) however, I also saw a new club logo (replacing the current Quakers one) and it was similar to this CIC one as the idea was that they would work in partnership with each other. Personally, I could get why it's thought the club/CIC would n...

Re: Shildon Away All Ticket

Why do we charge 5% commission when selling tickets to away games anyway? What cost are we covering with this, seeing as we have volunteers selling them from the club shop that would be open anyway. Would be interesting to get an answer on this, especially if the shop is open anyway. Obviously I'm ...

Such a shame for the older folk who might not be able to get up and get a ticket. Seems madness for something that would cost as little as 5% commission. Only people that will lose out are them though.

I won a Star Radio award at the back end of last year and I've donated it to the club. As a result, Verony has arranged 150 clips which showcase the club and our sponsors too which is great.

Re: Commercial manager

I'd like to think the benchmark was £40k. Ideally, I would be nice to see targets kick in at £40k and in increments of maybe £5k after that. I work to targets but they have to be realistic and £40k is probably what we would get in renewed income so anything over that is a bonus and should be targeted.

No programme was originally produced, content was rolled over. A single page sheet isn't enough. New notes, sponsor info, adverts which sponsors have paid for etc hence the 4 page inserts.
