Re: Season at risk of finishing early

The grants were given to keep clubs going until fans could be allowed back and Its the government or shall i say the health chiefs who seem to be running the country now who are not permitting fans into the stadium so it there responsibility to help clubs if they want them to continue. If they wont ...

Re: Season at risk of finishing early

[Spenn 66 Its a bit like agreeing to buy a house, when you only have a job for 3 months and no employment agreed beyond that period. You might go ahead on the basis that you could get another job, or that something might turn up. The key here is hope, something footie fans need lots of at the best ...

Re: Season at risk of finishing early

Why the hell would clubs want to take on debts to continue to play a bizare season behind closed doors with no fans. Surely the bulk of national league clubs cans survive on streaming alone too. Seems this has been dragged on very late in the day to the point where current funding has ended. Do they...

Re: Jason Ainsley

I thnk eventually he could well have to look at building a new ground as well as going completely full time. From what I have heard the Brewery Field could never pass the requirements needed for league football due to its location and lack of parking. Not so sure, forest greens ground had bugger al...

I was thinking that as well - I would not be surprised.

Re: Jason Ainsley

Sam Collins might fancy another crack at management I believe Evenwood Utd will have plenty of applicants with Football league experience, a good chairman who still has cash to splash and a large squad why would you not want to get involved. No one really local springs to mind unless brad will cast...

Re: Jason Ainsley

Never saw this comeing. Now if they are going full time then ainsley could not have committed to a full time managerial role and someone else would have been needed but surely the team are not suddenly turning pro part way through the season. A part time to full time transition normally occurs befor...

Some valid points particularly about pubs: -Im really sick of hearing “we can sit in a packed pub but not go to football”. What packed pubs? Hardly as if a pub will have anywhere near the amount in of even a northern league Game. Have these idiots spouting this s*** been to a pub lately? -i think th...

Re: Macclesfield Town

Really sad and terrible timing as I assume they're now too late to compete at any level this season as a phoenix club. I really wish the FA would try and be understanding regarding phoenix clubs. It's bad enough clubs going pop, but it is a reality. This is Bury all over again, who had to sit out a...

Re: Macclesfield Town

£340k of the debt was owed to two individuals a lender and their ex-manager (John Askey) and then a further £190k to HMRC. I thought Sol Campbell also say he didn't ever get paid his salary from them - that doesn't appear to be true based on report. You wonder what the situation was with Askey base...

Cant believe a ex manager is owed Nearly as much as the tax man. Was he on premier league wages or summat. Enjoyed my visit there when they won the national league. Is 500k really alot for a club to go under these days even in the national league

From what i gather the rules out today on crowd restrictions are just for step 3 and below which would be ok for the bulk of clubs at that level but not for step 2 and above, lets hope common sense prevails for above step 3

According to the Echo, DMP RUFC have a salary budget of £350,000 & also need funds to maintain and repair the Arena.
Surely the arena needs a overhaul i.e steel work painted and that to get a safety certificate, would be costly i can imagine

Charlton could be chucked out of the efl if they are not taken over within the next month or so. With TV money and the backing of Mr Weaver I am sure they will be fine. Crowds may not exceed 2000 if fans are allowed but look at Accrington. Harrogate are going to share with Donny Rovers, 45 miles away, until the plaggy pitch is replaced, so gates of 2000 might be a tad optimistic. According to ...
