Law changes season 19/20

A bit of light relief from Darlo performances. Picked this up from the website of my local East Anglian league, but I assume these IFAB approved changes will apply at all levels from next season. I like the one about yellow cards for 'illegal' goal celebrations remaining even if the goal is subseque...

Re: Guiseley match thread

Darlington 1 out of 10 Guiseley 1 out of 10 Ref 1 out of 10 And that's being extremely generous. A truly dreadful display and the hundreds who travelled seemed to be rewarded by players with their summer flip-flops on. We deserved better than that from TW and his players. Where was the game plan, w...

Re: Tommy Wright: 19/20 Season. Yay or Nay

If the decision on Wright/White future has already been made, whichever way, today's result and performance is irrelevant, but if not then it may be a timely reminder of what has too often been the norm this season, rather than the relative upturn of the last few results.

If we had a vacancy, would someone (ex Darlo or otherwise) with a five year record like Wright be on the list of potential managers?

Re: FANS NETCAFE -this Friday evening.

Why does a contract need to have a fixed end date? Because if not, then like you can at work, a player could give notice and leave a club at will and without club getting compensation. Your work don't get compensation if you join another company. The fixed term contracts in football ensure clubs ca...

Re: FANS NETCAFE -this Friday evening.

Seems most of the 'big' issues - like Wrights contract situation, is being sidestepped. I know how long Solkskar's ( you know who I mean) contract is, but not the manager of the club I have a share in and help, in a very small way, to finance.

Re: FANS NETCAFE -this Friday evening.

With Wright apparently taking part it will be interesting to see what level of critical questions to him will be selected. Might be a good opportunity for him to do a Theresa May and announce he is going at the end of the season (should have gone long ago but I accept going now would probably lead t...

Re: Tommy Wright

One thing I find very strange in all this is the role of White. He isn't exactly the shy retiring type - if he disagreed with Wright he would surely say so, and this would be difficult to keep private, and you would think he would have walked if he was being sidelined. So do they come as a package, ...

Re: B T B Email

Good, bad or indifferent, managers come and go. To put the future of the club at risk by reducing/stopping btb because of (fully justified) doubts about the current incumbent is a very dangerous reponse. Sooner or later Wright will go - above all we must ensure there is a club for the next manager t...

Gloucester were in the NLN a few seasons ago, didn't we play them in our first season in NLN? This problem is only going to get worse now we have 4 leagues feeding into the NLN/NLS. For those that are really interested in recent and proposed reorgs at various non-league levels- have a look at www.nonleaguematters.co.uk - one of the many forums goes into great detail - bit of a slog to work thru but gives a good picture of what is going on, with the general view that the FA are ...

Seems to be just what we are looking for. Also experience of working in tax ...

Jimmy Lawton

One for the older fans. Earlier today the club announced that former player Jimmy Lawton had died. He played for the club 1961-66 - I think this was in two spells either side of a move to Everton which didn't seem to work out. I remember him as what today would be called an old fashioned centre forw...

Clearly these proposals have been developed by the rugby club and the council for their mutual benefit. If we wanted to be involved then it would simply be as a customer using one of the facilities - in effect the arena as a tenant - paying rent and with little or no oportunity to develop our own in...

We always come back to TW Groundhog Day and i guess we always will no matter whether we produce a good result or two.
