Thanks for a great analysis, as ever, Ginge. Hope your services next season are concerned with our involvement in the other end of the table!
Great work. Takes a while to read it, god knows how long it must take to do it. Looking forward to season 24/25 ‘TheTop Ten’.

Just when NLN wave goodbye to Bishop Stortford, up come Needham Market FC - almost Ipswich!!
I live about 15 miles from Needham so it would be a great game for me. Long way from Darlo but an easy journey - A1 and A14. Dual or better all the way bar a couple of miles at each end.

Re: Blue card & sin bins

Tommy Taylor has been posting about this on Twitter, wondering what would happen if a keeper got binned for 10 minutes. Does an outfielder have to go in goal, or would there be a temporary substitution so a sub keeper could come on (if you had one) and an outfield player go off for the bin period.

Genuine question - would it be normal practice to include break clauses in a players contract, maybe if unavailable from long term injury? Or would that sort of thing be covered by player insurance?

Blood on hands/heads must roll

On this and other social media I’ve seen disgruntled, angry fans vent their frustration with demands that board members and other officials must pay the price for the series of mistakes made this season and last. In adddition we have the unedifying spectacle of twitter verbal punch ups between fans ...

Would normally want it to be on so that we could avoid a n away midweek game, but the way things are I think the games postponed in the hope we can strengthen the team would be the best option.

Thompson says he has put in £8m of his own money since taking over in 2015 and there is no "external debt" for the new owner.
No ‘external’ debt. Assume that means bank loans etc. wonder if this is Raj type ‘no debt’ and at least some of the money he has put in were loans and he wants it back.

Looking forward to Saturday, for what for me is a ‘home’ game. The Linnets demolished us last season, but their fall from grace has been at least as bad as ours. New year, new manager… new start? Could just be. Nearest game for me, back home in time for tea. Had been debating whether to bother and ...

Nothing yet from the club about inviting applications, timetable etc. Maybe me just being impatient to get things going, or could it suggest this time they will go for a target rather than see who applies.

Means another long distance midweek trip in Jan/Feb, but at least gives time to get players fit, and add more midfielders to the squad.

Am finding best odds of us staying up & will put £5 on & my winnings into next season's BTB. Statistically we cannot be so bad for the rest of the season Incidentally, some teams can defend worse than Darlo - get the utube highlights of ex-quaker Ryan Bowman's hat trick for Shrewsbury at Notts last...

Whoever gets the job we can’t assume they were our first choice. Maybe after listening to what we could offer in terms of salary, playing budget etc one or more of the more popular names turned us down. I think Wright wasn’t our first choice when he was appointed.

Whatever else our caretakers achieved during the week, they certainly seem to have got to grips with the essentials of the pre-match training session. A very impressive display of cones. wonder how we ever managed without them.

Re: Bishops Stortford road closures

First game of season for me and it pretty much confirmed everything that’s been written on here and elsewhere. BS were very poor and yet despite huge amount of possession we didn’t look like breaking down a defence that let in 4 against Rushall midweek. Nelson’s shot drew a very good save from their...

There are road closures on the access road to the ground coming of the M11 junction 8. Looks like a long diversion route.

We might have a mid table budget, but we have top of the table support - home and away. It makes a difference. Have you ever seen a fan score a goal? Yes as several Darlo fans have played for the club over the years. A fan scored a goal in the never ending F.A.Cup saga against Hull City in 1960. A ...

Re: Darlington FC communications

The problem we have now is that even if, belatedly, Alun came out with an up-beat interview and said all the right things (short of announcing half a dozen mega signings), the response is almost inevitably going to be - only saying it because you’ve been told to, or something similar. The damage has...
