Re: Grange Road Sign

I hate it too and hate the rugby club too as I know what the feelings about the football club are like behind the scenes, I won’t attend Blackwell Meadows as it gives money to the rugby club and I refuse to give anything that could benefit them in the slightest. I give to the football club via othe...

Re: Favourite game + season grading

From Spennymoor point of view Favourite Game 3-0 home win v Sutton in FA Trophy for two of the best goals I have ever seen at the Brewery Field and demolishing a National League side. Got to say the Sutton fans were a fantastic bunch as well. or 3-0 win at Hereford. A great performance and having wa...

Two words..."Tin" and "Pot" we are Darlington football club. We've been on some amazing journeys, some not so. One thing that gripes me, lack of respect from the rugby club. Re: Law changes season 19/20

Go on then...I'll bite. Name the black and white contraventions of law which have been seen this season that aren't simply attributed to differences in opinion over level of contact? The bigger issue is complete lack of understanding of law from pundits and players. Still this season an offside was...

Re: Tommy Wright: 19/20 Season. Yay or Nay

I'm probably a 60-40 in favour of him AND Alan going. If we get someone new in, I'll back them, if we decide to give them another go, I'll back them. I won't spit my dummy out like some of our fans who think we have a godgiven right to be in the playoffs just because DJ stated it or we have a decen...

My only real issue based on the finances is that we shouldn't be giving the rugby club that percentage from sponsorship boards and the like that the football club have secured. They lit...

Re: Blyth...

Armstrong sounds exactly like our previous manager. Very well supported and held in high esteem but seemingly ungrateful and constantly pushing for more, more, more, and then getting annoyed when the money isn't there. There seems to be a lot of younger 'ambitious' managers that loathe it when club...

Re: Trotman extends contract

What's not to like. Even if its a new deal with a view to selling him, it will increase the fee the club can hold out for. If its not with a view to selling him, then its keeping one of the better players for another year. Good business whether its by TW ( and he is staying) or whether its by the cl...

Re: TW - Learning His Trade

TW has learnt a hell of a lot this season about managing a squad and footy finances. If TW is here next season I think will see a player budget used with real purpose. Also player budget savings by making much more use of the loan market. Getting quality players from loan signings and on the cheap....

Colchester has a ground built from a plan used by alot of Lower league club over the last few years. As the planning is already done its cost effective and quite quickly built. Now we only need the land and monies and away we go. Dreaming of course.??? I have never liked Colchester's new ground. It...

Re: What Size Ground?

About 10,000 would do us. Feethams was around this and I believe York’s new stadium is about 8000. There may be the odd match 3 or 4 times a decade where we could sell more seats but hardly worth the extra build|running costs. In all seriousness, a ground of 5,000 would be ample for us - 8,000 abso...

What Size Ground?

FCUM have found the costs of building & running their new stadium to have affected their money available for a playing budget. The Arena clearly had running & maintenance ...

It’s very easy I guesss as a Spenny fan to think more games is great but you have no worries whether they are profitable or not as Brad can cover any losses. I can’t see Brad increasing Spenny season tickets by 2 extra games and he has made them cheap already. He even reduced match prices after ini...

4 more midweek games isn’t totally what we would want I guess. Makes no odds it will happen if that’s what they want to do.
If the article is correct the NLN/S teams voted for 24 clubs as opposed to 22.

An extra 2 games home income probably being the motive

Firstly, the budget is set before the season began, so DJ unless he is Mystic Meg could not have based the budget on attendances at the start of this season.
