Apparently we held a practice match against Hartlepool United today and drew 2-2.

I must add this was mixed 11 from Pools.
Thought Hartlepool were trouncing Gateshead today?

Re: National League North statement

Yep. Still feels like a lot of balls to juggle...it was a holding statement from the NL on the day they were due to make a decision so who knows what next. It's a holding statement as they are trying to work out how the season will pan out in a hurry. And given that most clubs will be bankrupt if t...

Re: SEASON POSTPONED?

if we dont start the season, or play a full season, then how can promotion or relegation happen. It also means any football below the "elite" levels is a waste of time. It will be like how the Darlo cricket league worked this summer, nothing riding on the games. You could still have promotions and ...

Re: SEASON POSTPONED?

It all boils down to whether we play the season or not. If we don't play the season I don't know how far the BtB will last us given we won't actually have players to pay. The strange situation we have now in the pyramid. 1 - Playing 2 - Playing 3 - Playing (only playing on basis there would be fans...

Looks like no fans allowed, and our league says with no fans, no games!

Its depressing isn't it?

It is also worrying for clubs in general and their ability to survive.

What is even worse is having to spend Saturday's with out an excuse to get away from the missus

Re: Latest friendly

I'm guessing here, but in legal documents when it says 'Should' that is actually an imperative - i.e. it means 'must' I'd be surprised if the same principle didn't apply here - that 'it's best if spectators keep away from games' actually means that local authorities will say they can't attend. I'm ...

No spectators allowed at NE grounds during the local lockdown
Thats the Northern League and NPL clubs struggling then or games postponed then.

Its going to make it difficult for every club in NE to survive

A bit of a speculative story on the https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8743185/Premier-League-clubs-fear-return-crowds-stadiums-pushed-NOVEMBER.html Has worrying implications for all Elite clubs. Really sad and terrible timing as I assume they're now too late to compete at any level this season as a phoenix club. I really wish the FA would try and be understanding regarding phoenix clubs. It's bad enough clubs going pop, but it is a reality. This is Bury all over again, who had to sit out a...

Quite right the only way at the moment is to manage the VIRUS the best we all can, for now life as we knew it has gone, everyone now knows what is needed to stay safe, managing the situation until hopefully a vaccine is found is really what people have to do. Face covering, distancing, handwashing,...

It was seriously meant. We live in dangerous times, We all need to be careful, anyone who underestimates this virus is being foolish. There are a lot of foolish people out there, and worse even more selfish ones. I think the genuine real worry is that the season will start and then be suspended yet...

Re: Arena it is

If the season doesn't start we don't have obligations to players basically. The standard FA contract effectively works starting from when the playing season begins. I suspect Alun may be a different matter. We would still owe the rugby club for the license to operate - maybe unless that is also dep...

Re: Arena it is

At a football ground, there’ll be protocols and measures in place e.g. social distancing, hand sanitisers, one-way systems, officials supposedly enforcing rules, and so on. Hence why organised sporting events are exempt. Whether it stays that way, who knows. The only issue I can see is if they lift...
