So this thread is not about Barwick quitting the NL Board? Nice to have some good news though!😁 ttps://www.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com/latest-news/step-1/national-league/389701/brian-barwick-to-stand-down-as-national-league-chairman/?fbclid=IwAR2nSFDlBT-sMzucsEbG2uKQrR5cfIt7F6Qii7DvjQqChTll2g3b44...

Fanzines were a fantastic part of the football culture in 1980S / 1990s
Shame they faded away, over taken by social media.
Selling 1000 copies to crowds of 2500 is an uptake rate most football club can only dream over with programmes or other publications

Re: Punishment for the Boston game
I thought Farsley were fined £1400 because they didn't contest it. In other words they pleaded guilty. Ah. You might be right - just been through the statements and it does state "accept the charge" which you are right could be "plead guilty to the charge". Not sure a personal hearing was an option...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game
FWIW the more influential parties in the NL aren't the members. Hammer Vanarama and BT Sport about it - tarnish their name with the actions of the NL board and you might actually change something. Just seen DCMS are appointing the head of football governance review for about £50k a year. Feels extr...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game
£2k fine and a suspended 2pt deduction (Or 1.4K if we accepted the charge). Interesting to see how the board react, given they were confident at the fans’ forum. It’s a total joke. Clubs couldn’t afford to play, but are being penalised anyway. And a financial penalty for clubs who are struggling fi...

Re: Not playing the Boston match.
I thought that all the charges against clubs for not fulfilling fixtures in NLN/S were effectively ended when season was declared null and void.
If not, then if every club charged insisted on a personal hearing, would take the League months to deal with them all

Poolies not the only ones feeling the pinch. Boreham Wood were surprised not to get the loan. Someone must have clocked their crowds did not merit the freebie dosh they got from the Lottery! Partly...the more interesting thing is their letter actually highlights that the surplus they have mad...

Re: Promotion from Step 2
A few suggestions in random order 1. Every club should opt into this league - register team of players - who are fans etc - all volunteers - pay own travel expenses etc. The proposal could not run with 40+ teams taking part in time available! 2. Is this proposal even lawful? Promotion to the NL is o...

Re: Darlington V Hornchurch Trophy Quarter Final
Should we be good enough to reach the final and the Government Covid-19 escape plan hold water, then a real possibility fans will be watching live at Wembley. At present final is on 6 May, but fans not allowed back until 17 May I wonder if these dates will change. The Trophy Finals seem to be good ...

Understand Premier league West Ham owner is funding their stay in Darlington on Friday night to better prepare which is generous of them. Re: Darlington V Hornchurch Trophy Quarter Final
Hornchurch manager Mark Stimson won the Trophy as a player.
Then won it 3 years running as a manager with Grays & Stevenage.
Not surprising they have had a decent run in Trophy, he like Alun Armstrong can obviously get sides up for big cup games

Interesting to see the news this morning stating that the government are targeting the end of July to have all adults vaccinated. Whilst always having to take governmental statements with a pinch of salt, it is fair to say that progress on the vaccine roll out has already included more people than ...

Re: DFC Voted for League to be Null & Void
Perhaps the time has come to stick with the Trades Description Act and form a proper National League North by inviting the likes of South Shields in and booting out Southerners like Gloucester, Boston etc by having an arbitary line define the North. Nobody in their right mind would consider Glouces...

That's fascinating: what difficulties? How? If you know of a way of issuing a successful legal claim for which the cause of action is a breach of "the rules of Natural Justice", please do tell me - I'm genuinely intrigued. Breach of Contract....a radical concept you may not have heard of. Its only ...

Difficult going forward if the vote overall is to continue the season as the games we have to play still will put a real strain on part time players, or I supose we may decide not to play anyway and accept any "punishment" from the league (hope it's not demotion). .... can they demote 3/4 of t...

Re: DFC Voted for League to be Null & Void
The National League are now saying that an "independent panel", not a "sub-committee", will be appointed to hear each case. So that is already a climb-down from their initial correspondence to clubs within the last 24/48 hours. The cases will be not be heard until the results of the resolution are ...

I agree with all of the above btw. What I wasn't supporting was a perspective that NL Prem sides are quids in. We are quite fortunate really that we aren't on a lifeline yet. Can't imagine was others must be like. It was me that said that NL clubs are "quids in".. and it was in comparison to the fu...

Re: Kettering Town
A club like York that want the season to carry on, would have a very good claim to take ot court that the voting is invalid, because after some clubs voted, the NL moved the goalposts ( re the testing). I would think such an argument had a good chance of succeeding. Not sure this would be much of a...
