Re: Increasingly unlikely playoffs

What are peoples predictions for the playoffs? I'm going to go for: Gateshead to beat Brackley Altrincham to best Chester York to beat Altrincham (toughest to call, I think Alty are a really good side and whoever wins this wins the lot) Gateshead to beat Boston York to beat Gateshead York promoted. ...

Re: The Team 20/21 season

See Adam Boyes has signed for Marske. Great signing at that level for them. Would have been very nervous signing him that, depending on any kick back on those betting charges he got back in January/February time. That is a major shock, nothing against Marske but this guy was scoring goals for fun p...

Re: 19/20 Season Ticket Refunds

Under Consumer Rights Act we had to offer a refund - which would have resulted in a VAT adjustment. That is absolute there are no questions there. Donations are not subject to VAT. Again that is absolute there is no question there. If all customers received a refund, and then separately donated the...

Re: 19/20 Season Ticket Refunds

Chris Stockdale has confirmed on twitter that the VAT adjustment can be done by the club, once they are aware of fans decisions (ie if they dont request a refund prior to the refund date).

Individuals will not need to request a refund and then donate this to the club.

Re: Increasingly unlikely playoffs

Seems a little unclear where the others stand. Altrincham seem to have said they favour playing them... but the money is a significant caveat. I can’t see any real comment from Chester, Gateshead or Brackley yet? Spending this money strikes me as ridiculous... also, surely the players are all on fu...

Re: Increasingly unlikely playoffs

Would be a bonus if Boston Utd went up through the play-offs as it is like King's Lynn, a helluva way to go for an away game. Equally, Brackley would not be a great loss, although quite a few Darlo exiles in the South do make it to that fixture. Thought Chester were against play-offs due to the cos...

19/20 season review

Well since the National League vote has confirmed that is the end of the season, thought we might as well have a review thread: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50016475808_6d53147d2c_z.jpg We finish on a PPG points total of 61 a couple behind Guiseley and a couple in front of a Farsley. Needed 7...

Re: The Team 20/21 season

I think that it would be helpful if anyone commenting on the actual or potential liabilities under the agreement / contact / lease/ license with DRFC could mention whether or not they have seen, or have a copy of, the actual signed agreement. On a somewhat tangential point while I am no contract / ...

Re: The Team 20/21 season

The rent is calculated on a match basis, not per annum. As far as I understand it, no games played at BM equals no rent due to DRFC to stage football matches. It’s obviously not that as if it was we could walk away at any time with no cost. I expect it’s a match fee with a minimum guaranteed matche...

The reason as I understand it is that the NLN and NLS were not classed as “elite sport” by the DCMS. The NL was considered elite so they can go ahead with play offs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk There are not many Elite sportsmen in the NL I'd say so how do they come to that conclusion probab...

Re: Leagues 1 and 2

There was never going to be a ‘fair’ way to finish the season. Any way you look at it some teams were going to suffer, it just became a case of who’s self interest would win out: - teams in automatic places wanted PPG - Play-off teams want to play for a chance to go up - mid-table didn’t care as lon...

Re: The Team 20/21 season

Surely if he's been released by Gateshead, he'll not be as good as what we've already got? That’ll be the team that finished four points ahead of us with two games in hand and a +16 goal difference. Oliver made 27 appearances for them and he reached the play-offs under Blyth with AA. I also think w...

Re: The Team 20/21 season

His minutes to goals/assists is actually decent. It’s difficult to judge with such limited game-time spread across a number of seasons. He is definitely more of an impact player but at 22, still has time to improve. I certainly wouldn’t be writing it off, like some have, for the reasons I’ve outlin...

Any bad feeling is probably down to the Heed fans who were waving tenners at Darlo fans the last time we met at the arena when we were in the mire financially. I have no gripe with Gateshead as a club or the fans who didnt turn into piss takers at that match. One other thing I dont like about Gates...

Just had a read again and AA is not a fan of BM. Daz Holloway in his Netcafé said that he loved playing at the Arena, although hadn't been back since. Who knows when that game will be rearranged to. But good luck to him. If he wants to take that risk f...

Interesting to see that Alun isn't furloughed atm, as he is busy sorting out the squad for next season. he's probably one of the few managers at our level who isn't furloughed. What makes you say that? Pretty sure he is furloughed. I'm not sure Armstrong is necessarily needed to resign players who ...

i cant see why it cant be extended another month especially as the season wont be starting in August The club need to set a short deadline in order to appropriately plan financially for the year ahead. Fantastic that we've got it to £85,600. I expect there will be a surge in the last 5 or so days as people hit their payday's for May, and if we can get within £10k with 5 days to go I reckon we'll make the £100k mark. I know its all TBC at the moment but contract news on the likes of Hatfield, Campb...

Where's James Montgomery at the moment? I'd be surprised to see him back at nln level, very good keeper.
If you mean the former Gateshead keeper, hes currently at Fylde signed for them last summer from Forest Green.

I would like a big 6'3+ head it and kick it defender, but I dont think it makes financial sense to add a 4th CB especially when Reid can fill in in emergencies, so could see that being a one in one out situation, but then who would be let go? I know that a couple of years ago, we had a youth keeper that made the bench a few times & was quite highly thought of. Sounds to me like Murphy's involvement was a bit of a hijack attempt. He got in ther...
