Re: Update Required?

So I get the points raised about the season starting. An update on the clubs thoughts would be nice, but understand they may not want to say too much at the moment. The playing side though I don't get. Would we all be happy if in the middle of a season we didn't hear anything on the playing side fo...

Re: Update Required?

Hard to give an update when there is nothing concrete to update. As you say we start in a week. We have no idea if fans can be let in. (Nor do any teams who are playing step 2 opponents). There are question marks whether step 2 clubs will play as playing will activate the costs associated (a concern...

Re: Latest friendly

Don't really care about results at this point in pre-season. Nice to see us creating chances and scoring goals, and those goals being shared around between our attacking players over our last 2 games. Biggest frustration is we still haven't been able to play what I would have said is our strongest b...

BBC News - Fans attending sporting events in England from October to be reviewed, says Prime Minister https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/54094363 I think politics is very relevant to us. Not very promising noises being made. One of the things I'm slightly disappointed with, is that the league seems to hav...

Re: Latest friendly

Think 500 club members should get priority somehow? Not for me. Huge respect to those who joined and extended their 500 club memberships when asked, but this is a friendly against a club in the league below, with very limited tickets on sale due to Covid. It's not exactly a need to be there / 'I wa...

Re: Arena it is

Sure I seen on Twitter that still have to pay them the annual fee, supposedly 60k... But the rest was effectively pay as you go. I think the rental/license cost is closer to £30k per annum. But we then pay for other services (car parking, staffing etc) at £1k on a per match basis and then there are...

Re: Latest friendly

Laing and Storey haven’t featured in the two games we’ve played and from the highlights, it looked like Watson was filling in there so I’m not surprised we’ve conceded 8 goals against quality opponents. I’ve no idea whether or not the keeper is any good but surely the above has to be taken into acc...

Re: Latest friendly

Report on the official site sounds like we fashioned ourselves a fair few decent chances. But looking at the team below that played for us. Still no game time for either Storey or Laing. Looking forward to seeing one of them alongside Hunt see who stakes a claim for the other CB slot. Starting team:...

Re: Friendly v Fleetwood

Tough way to start the friendlies, against a playoff chasing league one team who are a week or so away from starting their season. But more than anything just glad to hear we're playing football again. Sounds like we created a few chances so looking forward to seeing them on the highlights later (Ke...

Re: Pre-season friendlies

I don't envy any clubs at this level trying to arrange pre season games. There are differences geographically as well but these are the current proposed start dates. PL2 - 12th September Step 1 / 2 - 3rd October Step 3 / 4 - 19th September Step 5 - North West Counties is 3rd October / Northern Leag...

Pre-season friendlies

Anyone got any idea who we might be facing up against in pre-season friendlies? Considering the FL, NPL and Northern League season will be kicking off in September not much time left to play sides at those levels before their seasons start. Just really leaves us National League sides and the regions...

Well done Will Hatfield. Speaks volumes when a player wins both the player of the year awards voted for by the Fans and by their fellow players. Personally went for Campbell's goal vs York for goal of the season, love watching the ball go in off the bar like that. But Hatfield v Kiddy would have bee...

Whoever we're looking at as our goal keeper, it won't be one time loanee Jake Turner who joins Morcambe on loan for the season from Newcastle. Good luck to the lad, he looked good while here.

Really interesting season coming up. Obvious questions on whether it will start on the 3rd of October and if it starts after that whether there will be any knock on effects of it being a complete season and cup competitions etc. But some of the obvious points of interest seem to be: - Will BPA be as...

Re: Maguire & Langstaff Released

Another good signing and our attacking options look pretty frightening for this league. Campbell, Maguire, Charman, Rivers, Holmes and Donawa. Lots of different options in there to play 2 up top, 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. Hopefully we can get Jack Lambert in to replace Holness and a good loanee keeper. If w...

I suppose the question is did you feel the bug right away or did it take some time? Whilst watching Bury I have sat in and watched some awful games with a tiny sub 2000 crowd spread around Gigg Lane. But I can't imagine it is half as weird as turning to to an away ground with 1000 away fans but jus...

Would still be happy if we could get Jack Lambert, would give us a good attacking midfield option especially if Holness is going to depart. Other than a goalkeeper after that, which I expected might be a loan from Boro (Hemming or Brynn) or Newcastle (Jake Turner) which would likely happen just befo...

Pleased with that one as well. Played for Bolton in the Allardyce years so cant be a pussy cat. As others have said sounds like a leader and experienced head. Played plenty of games in L2 last year as well in a promotion winning side so another one to be excited about.

Happy with that. Everyone knows our key areas to strengthen are GK, CB and CF so to get one of those sorted in the first transfer is pleasing. Right kind of player too, at 6'1 bit of physical presence and an age where he could certainly be an asset in the future. Never seen him play but good pedigre...

What are peoples predictions for the playoffs?
