Re: Darlo v York

We really cant catch a break. Liddle having a fitness test pre game but cant help but think by rushing him in we might do him more harm than good. Assuming he isn't fit. Cant decide what is best do we pack the CM position as suggested above. Or do we stick with something we have probably had more tr...

Re: Darlo v York

It's obvious to everyone else. No it isn't. Plenty can see it's 4-4-2 Campbell is the most advanced man, O'Neill is further back. Irrelevant. You wouldn't expect the two forwards to be always in line. If anything, Campbell drops out of the box looking for the ball, far too often for me. The wingers...

Re: Josh Heaton

Sad to see Josh leave as we all know what he could be. But also respect to the lad. He's young. He wasn't playing as much as he wanted to and he's moved to a club where he could be a first choice. If only Mr Burn had such a professional mind set to picking himself up again. Also credit to Armstrong,...

Re: Darlo v York

554 tickets now sold for the York end. Decent effort. What's the capacity of that side of the ground? Is it 600 or 800?

Hopefully fair few darlo fans will be down too. Would do wonders for cashflow if we could have 2500+ down at BM. Especially if we can get a FA cup bonus the following weekend too.

Darlo v York

Hopefully be a good crowd in BM for it. York are reporting they've sold 450 tickets already. Not bad considering the standard of the away end. Hopefully that will mean we can get a crowd of 2400-2500+. Can only hope a week of no games and a bit of rest will do the lads good. Add to that, the ability...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

Didn't deserve to lose that. But We didn't deserve to win it either. Two fairly average sides. Didn't think they offered a lot going forward. Their left winger was threatening, decent player, but certainly helped by the fact that Holness isn't a natural right back. Often caught out of position but I...

Re: Ben Hedley

Rob Purdie is probably a better example of a player that can play anywhere in midfield as well as both full backs. And you could probably play him in any of those positions all season and he would never let you down. Could probably use Tom Elliott from last season as a more recent example too. thou...

Re: Darlington V Blyth

For every short corner that doesn’t go anywhere a long corner either doesn’t beat the first man or goes too long corners get you far less goals than you think. quick google search gave me this: On average, the data show that a corner is good for (drumroll ....) 0.022 goals. This means that the aver...

Re: Darlington V Blyth

Sounded like another good night for O'Neill he is one of the key members of that attacking 4 at the moment, one that makes the ball stick high up the pitch. Attacking 2. In a 4-4-2. The other 2 in your "attacking 4", we call them "wingers". It was so 4-4-2 last night that a 3 year old could have id...

Re: Darlington V Blyth

A win is a win. Sounds very much like we deserved it with the number of chances created and as others have said. We'll take a few scrapier wins for now while we get some players back from injury. Fear for Blyth. Cutting you cloth is hard, cutting your cloth and appointing a manager with a fairly poo...

Just because more than one person believes something to be true, does not make it true.
Doesn't make it false either. As I've said before, it's a game of opinions. That's what makes it interesting.

Been very tough on us losing 4 to injuries, 2 carrying knocks and now 2 away on international duty. We must surely be due so luck with injuries later on in the season. Likely to mean its basically the same team again from Saturday, with either Wheatley or Holness to come in at CM for Bascombe. No i...

Worst Player: Paddy Deane - Signed by Staunton as a striker. The lad was many things but a footballer was not one of the, never seen a pro with no touch, movement or perception before. To think he made 10 appearances. Worst Goalkeeper: Ashlee Jones - Again in the disastrous league 2 season. Watchin...

Re: King’s Lynn

As I say all personal opinions. If you want to take the same players and call it 4-4-2 that's yours. I'd would say our system is 4-2-3-1. Its these opinions that make football interesting. 4-4-2 isn't my opinion, it's a fact. Yes we can play 4-2-3-1 (or 4-5-1 for us old non trendy fans) and that wa...

As the OP says tough trip. Think they have won alm their home games by increasing margins (2-1, 3-1 and 4-1) and they have a striker in form in Michael Gash. Saying that we can give anyone in this league a game. We do always seem to create chances so let's hope that the 4 forward players bring thei...

Horrible news for both clubs if the worst is confirmed. The only light to be taken from it is that in these situations the football club will go back to where it belongs the fans. They will have their chance to start again and build something positive in their communities. On a slightly different no...

Reading that they've signed a few players to try to shore things up so might be a bit tougher now. Hopefully everyone got through yesterday OK and we get a decent Bank Holiday crowd. Got to admit personal highlight (although not from our highlights) was Liam Watson complaining that the pitch was too big. The club seems to be lurching towards a crisis after only 4 games. There are rumours today that he's released 4 players. If Robbie is one of them we'll have a meltdown. Despite a 10 game preseason Clark seems clueless as to who is his best eleven. Feel sorry for Spartans fans. Great non league club...

Awful treatment of volunteers by the league. Especially considering the likes of Kev have ensured that exiles, like my self, still feel such a close link to the club despite only attending 5-10 games a season max. And keeping that connection has kept the money flowing in from me to the club. So thes...
