Re: Signings

In his first interview on the YouTube channel and in the echo Armstrong says he has 9 players contracted for next season. Got thinking and could only come up with the following 8. Ainge, Galbraith, Burn, Trotman, Thompson, Wheatley, Nicholson, Glover. Does anyone know who the 9th is? Would be happy ...

Re: Leeds crumbled

The other interesting thing about derby is that their key players (in my view) are mainly loan players. Tomori (CB), Mount (CAM) and Wilson (RW) have been huge for them all season. In that sense they are kind of like us. Should they progress to the league above it may be less of a problem as their p...

Re: Mansfield Town

Seen a lot of "What did Brighton expect to achieve?". As if the best they should expect is finishing just above relegation, which is a little patronising. I think Brighton fans are perfectly entitled to want better than two league wins in 2019, three goals in 10 matches and to finish four points wo...

Re: Mansfield Town

Even mike ashley himself admitted sacking houghton was a mistake and who knows he may return there. Hughton has more integrity than to go back to work for Ashley. Seems like a long time since Darlo played Mansfield, does anyone remember that last game 😏 Unfortunately so. 5-2 defeat away at Field Mi...

I think one thing is for sure. Based on Andy Toman's outbursts, we can safely say he didn't make the shortlist.

Re: Teams in National League North for next season

Fair few new grounds next season. None of them particularly spectacular mind. Shame Kettering no longer play at Rockingham Road that was a proper hodge podge little non league ground. Gloucester have applied to move back to a rebuilt Meadow Park at some point next season (so new ground of sorts for ...

Re: Darlington's 'demise'....

There are loads of different systems. I'd say full time is that players train 5 days per week and have no other employment. Part time there are loads of different models. Darlo train two evenings a week Tuesday and Thursday for a few hours each time. Stockport this season have operated on a highbrid...

Re: New Manager Interviews this week

With South Shields not getting promotion i would go back for my original suggestion of Fenton. Sure Fenton and his assistant were given full time 5 year contracts a year or so ago. They have good financial backing there, a solid fan base and long contracts. Cant see them being interested in leaving...

Re: Playoffs tonight

It's very sad, that the club feels that the only way to get fans to an away game, is to organise travel. This goes to show that they have reached their level and they couldn't support National League football. Alternatively, it could be that it is a club rewarding it's fans loyalty and providing so...

Re: Released players

Only one I would want from York is Bartlet. They weren't very much better than us this season although they were full time. I'd still be interested in Ferguson if he became available too. Think he signed on an 18 month deal for them so he would be one that needs a contract renewal this summer. Can ...

Re: Owners Club

The other problem with that is. With 800 members the DFCSG is a fairly large and representative sample of DFC supporters. Which is important as the DFCSG is the majority shareholder of the club and retains a large amount of power and influence in that respect. If you put the membership money up, it'...

Yet he’s generated £170k in transfer business, had to sell our prize asset CF and midfielder, seen two of his team represent their country, do a mid-season rebuild with loans...he steers us 15 points clear of the drop and, oh yeah, sets up an academy for the good of the club rather than himself as ...

Or me it's the right decision, made at the right time. Absolutely no doubt that Tommy has put the hours in an tried his best. I'd be interested in either Neil Aspin or Chris Swailes. I'm sure there will be some left field applicants so we shall wait and see. As always the team will have my full support and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve next season.

Favourite has to be the 5-1 home win v York on boxing day.

Grade E: Spent most of the season scrapping at the bottom. Non-existent cup runs. Poor signings. Falling attendances. We didn't get relegated so that saves it from an F.

Couldnt understand why we insisted on playing the ball in the air and not on the floor. They were like something out of Avatar so we had no chance of competing most of the time. Did anyone else notice TWs body language? Was just leaning on the dugout or sat down most of the game. He does that most ...

Whoever is manager in the summer faces a massive rebuilding job.Once the loan signings return to their clubs you can count on one hand those players you would want to keep, probably 5 max.Of the loan signings, Turner,Palmer and Smith have looked good and would have these back. Re: Darlington V Bradford PA

Very good win yesterday. I wouldn't go as far as calling it a complete performance, based on some of the chances that we conceded we still have much work to do to improved the solidity of that defensive unit. Don't think that's the best BPA will have played all season but as others have said they ha...

Re: Trotman extends contract

Good move by the club to secure Luke has definitely been one of our best and most consistent players over the last 18 months. He would be more than deserving of the opportunity to test himself full time again. But, as someone mentioned above, he will be going into the final year of his degree next y...

Re: TW - Learning His Trade

Interesting that Trotman has signed a new deal today. Possibly suggesting that we may have Wright in charge again next season unless we are just protecting the club in tying down one of our more valuable assets. I cant get away from the fact that I like Tommy Wright as a man and I really want him t...

Re: TW - Learning His Trade

Problem for me is, I don't see where he is learning. We don't have an effective defensive unit. He has consistently failed to coach this into the players and the way we play. In reality we should have been 2-0 down at half-time v Boston. He gets plaudits for changing it at half time, but did he seri...

Don't see the need for all the comparisons tbh. In my boat TW has failed to deliver this season. There is nothing from last season or this that has proven to me that he can provide long term success to this football club on the pitch. It is his 3rd job in football management his record at any of tho...

I still don't really grasp the concept of it all, or how this is going to bring anything useful. Have just watched Tommy's interview from the weekend. Hard to really know what to make of anything he says anymore.
