Well, aye, if you replaced him with De Gea then we'd probably be top half.

But to suggest any single player has cost us a playoff berth is madness. We are bang average / gash all over the pitch.
Replace him with De Gea and we would have been relegated.

Still got this feeling that Styche will come back. That would be some start to next season's team building but sadly cannot see it but I think he would jump at the chance if finances allow. Re: Nuneaton....

Against an abysmal Nuneaton side we were marginally better in the second half. Even the Home supporters were chanting " You're so bad you're going down with us". The poorest Darlington side I can ever remember. What is the opinion regarding Thommo's fantastic free kick which went in from underside o...

Re: Tommy Wright

Tide of opinion seems to have turned against TW since the Hereford game. Looks like the last straw to give away such a strong position in a crucial relegation battle. Our new strip should be white like the flag waved in the 2nd half. I am obviously in a minority of one, as I thought it was a very e...

Re: Early Bird Season Tickets

We seem to be in just a complete mess again! The 500 club extension obviously hasn't been taken up by as many as needed so now we resort to offering reduced price season tickets for next year , 2 months before this season finishes! It's just again taking future income to fix a current issue! That's...

They were the best side I have seen this season, shape, strength, strong at the back, broke with pace, lots of width and their midfield were excellent. The service from our midfield was non existent, passed the ball around ok but felt sorry for Ainge who was isolated up front on his own and was not give...

Re: Step 4 Reorganisation

To take three games from one season's cup competition and try to draw conclusions from them about the quality of the Northern League is just really bad. The headline that they only get two teams into the last 16 is more the point. That isn't complete dominance is it - that is the result of a lot mo...

What stands out for me was Lawton's form in the 1964/5 season.
In an below average team (we finished 17th), he scored 29 goals. Two were in a brilliant 4-1 cup replay against Hartlepool in front of a packed Feethams (15,000), which got us a home tie against Arsenal in the third round.

Pools playing Harrogate away tomorrow. After Gateshead their next nearest local derby game in a meaningful match.
Perhaps why they haven't sold many tickets for the reserve/youth team game next Tuesday at BM.

Maybe Richard Money will punish his failing first-teamers with an outing in the Durham Challenge Cup on a cold January night at BM.
