Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports

Me personally I would go full strength at Rushall and hopefully get the win which realistically barring a complete capitulation would see us pretty much safe. Then I'd be giving a day off to the likes of Barrow, Main, Cornish in the Chorley game. That is the one remaining game where the players sti...

Re: Over the years ~ In what position have we had the best players?

I reckon a high proportion of clubs in the lower leagues would say goalkeeper has traditionally been a strong position. Most clubs have one first choice keeper, which means there are fewer opportunities for goalkeepers to get regular game time than other positions - so you get relatively better play...

Re: We’ve come along way.

It really is incredibly impressive and while the board received a lot of criticism over some of the decisions they made over the last 15 months, they equally deserve some credit for getting the appointment of Watson & Mitchell spot on, as well as the decision to ask the owners for extra funding to ...

Re: Needed points minimum

As I've said before, I expect us to stay up comfortably with room to spare - ie done before the last day, and losing at Spendy doesn't change that. We were never going to win every single match until the end of the season. Obviously mounting injuries are a concern, so we could probably do with a co...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

A full time investor is the way forward for me for the club to get back to the league but that’s very unlikely to happen. Massive socialist in wanting handout shocker. The more thought I give it, the more "I want someone else to take over our football club and pump their money into it and run it fo...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

Lee, thanks for clarifying some of those points. Can I ask why you stepped down from the DFCSG Board when you did? Various reasons. My 3 year term was up and I was embarking on a career change at the time, so they were the triggers. It was mainly down to exhaustion though. I don't mind telling you ...

A quick google search throws up this article Lee wrote 3 years ago which you could see as a precursor to this new document: https://yourclub.darlingtonfc.co.uk/yc-content/defining-success "It gives us an opportunity, as Owners, to finally pause and reflect...what constitutes success for Darlington F...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

The only relevant point is this posters reasoning for the post. He's trying to stir up trouble. Fan owned is best scenario for our club at this present time . that should be all he needs.past DFCSG member. I initially posted having not read the document - which I have now done. I think some very va...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

Just because our current model/management structure isn't perfect, it doesn't mean the only suitable alternative is to sell the club.

We can tweak and restructure what we have without ripping everything up.

Re: Darlington v Banbury 2/03/24

The real deal is having a manager who is just down to knowing the basics required to win games. Not over complicating things and a million miles from what JG was attempting to do. We are right on the coattails now of those above and if and when we are above the dotted line I can see us staying ther...

Mad when you think we managed to lose twice to the worst team in the league. Should have been an easy 6 points. I thought that yesterday. And they're comfortably the shittest, complete whipping boys for everyone but us! What a difference even 4 points would've made! Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using T...

Not sure your point holds up. Playing football with a sore arm is a fair bit easier than playing football with a sore groin!

This guys a warrior Surely playing with a near broken arm can't be anything like as painful as a groin strain? What's "near broken"? Its either broken or it isn't, surely? I guess its either just badly bruised or perhaps a hairline fracture? Either way, no I doubt its as bad as a groin strain as fa...

When was the last time DarloFC fielded an all English team? BTW I don't know the answer - just asking[emoji16] Probably very recently given that most players we recruit are north-east based. Great trivia. I forgot anyone had fielded a all english squad at all in the premier league era. Bound to be a game soon where no english player is in the starting 11. On another note who was the last english manager to win a major trophy, im taking a punt on harry redknapp 16 year ago That's happen...

Re: Curzon V Darlington

Their keeper could barely stand up, yet we weren't shooting. And what was even more mystifying were the short corners or outswinging corners instead of getting the ball under the crossbar. We had 9 shots in the second half. How many up until Hatfield's goal? 0 or 1 perhaps. There are 6 on the highl...

They're fine. As with the home kits, not sure what people expect really?

I've voted for 4 but I'd be happy with 3 as I always regret not getting that burgundy kit we had a few years ago when we played at Bishop Auckland.
