Re: Darlington V Altrincham Match thread
Yes we were absolutely pants today - however we have a bloody good squad who are still working how to gel together, let not press the panic button yet and get behind Tommy, Alan and the players:

Re: Former Players sly digs at TW on twitter
All these ex players whinging earned very nicely out of DFC. Like any business employees move on football is no different. There are very few players who are here because of loyalty (Brown excepted) most if not all will move on if the price is right or a genuine career move.

Re: Sporting Village
Unfortunately until we actually own our own ground we are always going to be a tenant with the problems that brings. At BM there is little way of increasing our commercial activity yet the Arena potentially would. However there is no point moving there if in 2-3 years we had to move out again due to...

How many to Eindhoven
Arguing today with another fan about how many are going to travel to Eindhoven.
I suggested 400-500 which he laughed at but I know of loads of people not even hard core BM attending Darlo fans and part timers that are going to make the trip.

Re: New venue required to . . .
I’m not keen on DBC, but your can’t blame them for this closure. HOF have a a new Chinese investor who has basically told them if you want the investment close 31 stores. Poundland is also about to go into administration with a loss of 6000 jobs.

I’m sure people will find each other most bars are on one long strip.
Just hope there’s no idiots going who can’t hold their drink. Directors in attendance as well so hopefully best behaviour.

I didn’t like the way Gray left and I’m sure on reflection he may have done things differently
but let’s not forget for 5 years he couldn’t do anything wrong remember Whitby. So please remember that when some on here seem to enjoy his obvious torrid time.

Cant be bothered to go to Manchester with the extra costs but there are still seats from DTV with two flights a day to Amsterdam 06.45am & 10.15am return Sunday 09.40pm & 21.35pm. Rail direct to Eindhoven is 1.20mins and costs £16 return.

Re: Raj Singh Takeover
The big difference at Pools is you have a council that want to see the club succeed plus they own the stadium and surrounding ground the complete opposite to what DBC offered to DFC although do now to Mowden. Pools need Raj’s money and perhaps he wants to show his douters that he can still be a succ...

Re: Virgin
Seeing as the guy from Virgin who set the deal up was a mate of Grays it was nailed on that the deal would end even if they hadn’t lost the franchise for the East coast line. Prestigious brand though and hopefully JD and DJ can uncover another good one. If I remember it was a John Tempest who secur...

Re: Supporter Liaison Poll
Personally I don't care what is on the televisions, if there is live sport on whether it be rugby, football, motor racing, cricket or horse racing I would expect it to be on. The majority of us know the scores by the time we get to the bar anyway through social media so what is everybody's gripe. I...

Re: Supporter Liaison Poll
And on the point of connecting with the fans - what is it that we had before that isn't happening now? We've never had it, that's the problem. The clubs Twitter & Facebook feeds are an absolute shambles. Most clubs are engaging, interacting with fans, suggesting new incentives etc. Ours is s***. Th...

Re: Supporter Liaison Poll
Social media is just dangerous in the wrong hands. We got into hot water a few years ago because of 'opinions' posted by volunteers so the matchday twitter became fact based. I don't really think there is that much of a problem with it and given some of the comments from 'fans' on there I wouldn't ...

I’m sure I heard at previous forum rent was £34k per annum. The thing with AGMs is its all historic, I’m more bothered about what the position is now and for once I feel we are finally headed in a much better position.

Re: Definitely no cash turnstiles
It'd be a sad indicator of how decimated our fanbase has become if we can only muster up 1300 or so for York at home Well we've had matches already where only 1,100-1,200 Darlo fans have turned up, plus being all ticket will put some people off. We're near the bottom of the league, and York aren't ...

Re: Extra security measures for Gray on Saturday.
It’s the usual 10-12 twitter trolls who all follow each other and try to out do each other with the most outrage. I suspect they never actually get of their arses and actually help the club. Gray I’m sure will get some banter but the majority of fans would prefer a Darlo win and go home happy.

Re: 500 Club Options to eliminate debt
I'm struggling with work that cost £35,000 more than was budgeted for. We hit all our ground development targets didn't we? Lots of extra paving, dugouts moved back and 4G added in front on them, remedial work on current stand. added fencing work etc it all adds up plus the VAT which wasnt accounte...

Re: 500 Club Options to eliminate debt
DFC will no longer run a budget that predicts a financial loss and risks the clubs future. This type of financial management has to stop. Thanks for the very informative post. This is the part that is most pleasing to read. Except we said exactly the same last year. And the three years before that....

Am I right in saying that the Rugby club own the land at BM? I know if we leave now we would be liable to pay back any grants. What happens if our landlords move (to a new sports hub) and sell the land from under us? If we moved with them would we still be liable? I believe grants would have to be ...

Re: Sports Village
Situations change. I’ve the opposite view, it would be careless to pump more money in to BM until the board have been able to properly evaluate any opportunities that *might* offer a better future for the club. Totally agree once the seating is in we don’t have to spend anymore money on development...

Re: Sports Village
If we are happy to stay at this level then BM is fine however if we are ambitious and want to return to the league then BM will imo just be to expensive to develop & £1.5m + just to relocate the water pipe. If the Sports Village could work if there are several parties involved in the cost of running...

Covers were taken to Bishop from the Arena however they had been stored very badly and were ripped and largely ruined. Some of the better ones were used. On another note the DFC decent lawnmower was taken from the Arena to BM a couple of months ago and after an overhaul at Lloyd it’s as good as new.
