Re: Sports village

I doubt if the relationship between us & the rugby club could get much worse. I do feel that without the footie club supporting them financially, then they'd really struggle financially. I don't really know how we move forward from the situation we find ourselves in.

Re: Sports village

DMP making sure that despite the best efforts of Covid-19 Darlo will get a Panto this year, by issuing the classic 'ohhh no it isn't (but we can't comment on open matters)' response: https://www.mowdenpark.com/news/club-statement--darlington-sports-village-2549031.html You have to take the last par...

If the plug is pulled on the sporting village DMP could be more desperate to get us involved in the stadium.
I'd heard that they've already agreed that we would have priority on Saturday's if we played at the Arena, before the Sporting Village was really mentioned.

Re: Sports village

If true it gives us virtually no options & unfortunately our bargaining position with the rugby club will be greatly diminished. Really bad news for the club going forward. Our only possible option would be to play at the Arena, something I think DMP could well be interested in, as there is no way t...

Re: Woodgate Sacked

I think Barnsley have a better chance of overhauling them, so hopefully they'll win. For me the worst result would be a draw, which might relieve the pressure on them & Warnock.

Re: Rugby League

Yes I don't think Toronto entered the RL ladder expecting to not play a home game all season, relegation would be very unfair, although I don't think it is a certainty that they'd end up bottom. Also if relegation was ruled out it would take out a lot of intensity from a good few of the end of seaso...

Good to see that despite a blip, Warnock has carried on from were Woodgate left off. The only question is whether Barnsley & or Luton can catch Boro.

I think it will be very unpredictable as to who goes up. The lockdown will definitely even things up & I think any team in the play-offs could go up.

Re: Potential new signings

I think the most frustrating things, are that it's taking so long for any news about new signings & that we haven't had the usual leaks of potential targets. The lack of news about potential targets is probably good for the club, as it is far better for contract talks to take place in private than o...

Great news for Wigan, that John Bateman is returning from the Canberra Raiders, were he has been a great success at the start of next season. It seems curious that there has been a steady trickle of especially Wigan players who have gone over to the NRL been a success, but then return to their origi...

Re: Potential new signings

I was queuing for a haircut this morning & I was talking to a chap who's been going to watch Darlo for years. He said that we are trying to get a keeper from Wigan, who was born in this area, but he didn't know his name. Also no surprise to hear that we are after O.Neill from Boro.

Strange times as normally the players would all have been recruited, they'd be now back in training & we'd be looking forward to pre-season friendlies.

Sad to here that Wigan Athletic have gone into administration & face the prospect of relegation to Div 1. I hope the football authorities are lenient on Wigan & I'm sure Wigan won't be the last club to go into administration over the summer.

Re: Alan Walsh

I think it is unfair to compare Walshy & Thommo. Walshy was playing in a struggling side, whilst Thommo played in a team that was nearly always on top in the league we were playing in. Both players rightly hold a special place in fan's hearts. Does anybody think any future player will break Walshy &...

He could end up at Vicarage Road.
Could also end up at The Abbey, Cambridge
Perhaps either of the St. James Park's may be an option?

Best game was obviously Walsall away, the away support was fantastic. Best moment was Wheatley's goal in the same game. Best goal was Hatfield's goal at Guiseley. Best player definitely was Hatfield, the midfield driving force that we've been missing for a long time. Grade B at times we were excelle...
