Re: Hereford

A good point that halts the slide in form. Honestly, I would’ve taken a point before kick off, and a late equaliser is always nice. Haven’t seen any highlights yet, obviously, but nice to see Omar on the scoresheet. He’s been underused lately imo. Should we not have a bit more ambition than to be s...

Re: Hereford

Pretty slim chance this game will go ahead, if not for the condition of the pitch then for the water levels in the surrounding areas. If it is off it would be interesting if an open training session could be arranged, maybe a couple of quid in to raise some funds?

Re: Plucky Salford

Feels like this is for the terraces? Salford were relevant to us when we were in their division and challenging for titles together - now threads just make our fan base look green. I disagree, I realise this isn't Darlo related, however there are about 3 new posts a day on this site, so it's not li...

Mind you, to be fair - I can't remember many on here complaining when G.R. splashed the cash on Heaney/Gabbiadini/Aspen and others - the books didn't balance then. ;)
Absolutely, I've no real problem with it but I find the denial amusing.

Re: Boston Away

Looking at the highlights of the Spendy game, there's hardly anyone there. It's clear that when they give the attendance figure they are including every one of the cut-price and the many free season ticket holders as having attended, whether they do or not. I would have thought the actual attendanc...

Keeping Will is vital for me (if it is within budget of course) as it shows ambition and should hopefully keep management and fans happy.

Re: League restructure

The ideal scenario would be for chorley, fylde and chesterfield to stay in the relegation zone, and for Wrexham to fall in and all drop down to our division. Also, if Kings Lynn and Brackley could go up, and Blyth could pull themselves out of it then the north / south line would have to moved, possi...

Re: New kit

Totally agree. None of them are proper Darlington shirts. Black and white hoops are distinctive and unique and I bet loads of other teams would like to have that. To be fair that first one is pretty similar to our kit from 1889 (black strip down the middle). We had stripes, quarters and a solid bla...

https://darlingtonfc.co.uk/home-kit-vote Disappointed as I would have liked to see us keep the hoops. As far as I know we were the only team in England to play in black and white hoops. Some of those kits could be Derby, Fulham etc. What’s everyones thoughts? Agree, not keen on any and I would have...

Re: Contracts

Not everyone is as cautious with their contracts. Kings Lynn have just signed striker Dayle Southwell and given him a two-and-a-half-year contract. He had apparently been on more than £1,000 a week at Halifax. Another club with an owner pumping the money in. This is why we must aim for promotion as...

Saturday will be tough, as we've played midweek, so we'll probably be a bit tired, against a rested team. I'd be delighted with a draw.

The thing is, there is a massive Elephant in the room. It’s really big and just sat there doing nothing, and it is - where do we play if we get promoted? How much will it cost? How will it be paid for? Armstrong and his players left Blyth because their chairman put a lid on their footballing ambiti...

I think it would be best for the club to end the speculation over why a man has lost his job on this public message board. It's not great for our image so lets wait for the facts and then discuss. Also, conjecturing that advertising boards are not sold and simply staying up will again create doubt a...

To be honest the direct style of play doesn't sound too different to what we used to get to our current division. There isn't one way to play football - which is why Stoddarts report seems to be a little patronising towards Solihull. From what I can pick up they did have more chances than us and fo...

It sill makes me shudder when I think about the wages Styche and Ainge were allegedly paid by us last season. It certainly makes you wonder what wage he was on at Darlo? I mean you would expect £500-£600 you would have thought? More like 900 I don't really see how that would fit into our budget as we'd have blown nearly 15% on one player. Especially as it was widely reported that Hereford offered an uplift...

Here is the future in the arena

This was with around 1600 in attendance. The thought of staring at those pale pink seats with only 6% of the arena filled is depressing.

But how much financially would we stand to lose by shipping out of B.Meadows early? It's all very well making more on extras at The Arena, but what about the assets we leave behind - the Tinshed and side stand, they have a value and they cost us a lot to set up. How many years of extra income at Th...

I know it is nothing compared to his salary when he was playing - but Campbell is owed £180,000 from a what 9 month spell at Macclesfield.

He was contracted on (at least) £20,000 per month at Macclesfield...and that is assume he wasn't even paid anything.

For me Lambert doesn’t really add a lot. Goal scorers are expensive/rare and every team wants one. AA stated after the Motherwell friendly that big lads up front are even harder to find because the trend in academies of late has been to develop smaller more mobile forwards. As for leadership in def...
