Re: Extended ban

I don't think its appalling at all, it may deter others from similar acts. What would be appalling is if it was repeated and the club ended up with a fine.

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

Overspent versus what though? Realistic projections or actuals? If we’ve overspent the total annual budget before income from any cup run is known then I wouldn’t be happy, I don’t mind the spending of the total budget at the start of the year, rather than holding a % aside to cover mid season cost...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

I’m just going off AA’s comments that he’d about maxed his budget before signing Donawa, Bell, Heaton. Maybe that was just the budget that he was allowed at that time that was maxed rather than a “reserve” budget too That's how I understood the budget situation. I'd be disappointed if we have overs...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

I’d peddle Heaton, Holness, Hedley and get a proper right back and centre forward. If we could get shot of Laing to I would and bring in a new centre back. Watson can cover centre back and full backs and Bascome and Wheatley can cover Atkinson and Hatfield. Not difficult. Fortunately we have a mana...

If a long term fan won the Euromillions I may be persuaded to consider letting 50% go, but never to another Reynolds / Singh / Houghton etc.

Re: The Areana

I’ve changed my mind on this a few times, but seeing the state the arena is in currently, with its huge rust patches and filthy, stained facades etc, I would be worried about the long term future if it. Undoubtedly it would be a cheaper option than building something new, or upgrading Blackwell and ...

Re: Gateshead game...

I’m not saying you’re not entitled to an opinion, more questioning the motivation for belittling a player publically with questionable reasoning, particularly after the second game of the season after there has been repeated calls for patience due to new personnel/formation/style of play. Why the n...

Re: Gateshead game...

From the Northern Echo: He elaborated after Saturday’s match, during which Laing enjoyed a solid game, saying: “People were ringing me and sending me stuff they’d seen and it’s unbelievable. Two games. Laingy was getting the brunt of it and I was absolutely flabbergasted. “Things happen off the fie...

Re: Gateshead game...

Absolutely no need for some of these comments on Laing. Yes he got caught a couple of times in possession in the first half but so for example did Trotman yet not a word on that. And as has been pointed out the Gateshead number 9 was a nuisance and gave Galbraith just as much of a tough time. Secon...

Re: Gateshead game...

Laing is the new whipping boy I see. Did very little wrong yet his partner alongside him is exempt from any form of criticism. Laing was abysmal tonight. Was I watching a completely different game tonight? Yes there's a few stray passes which will happen when you're trying to play out from the back...

Re: Tommy Wright

Before the long trip back yesterday I wanted Tommy to leave. However on reflection we as fans are a fickle bunch and shouldn’t rush to a quick decision. If we had won we would all be saying how good Tommy is. He has had to deal with losing some key players this season to balance the books, I doubt ...

Re: Tommy Wright

Whilst I would really like TW to go now the problem is that we no longer have anyone left at the club who could take over until a new permanent manager is appointed. Catch 22, sack TW and end the season leaderless or keep him and, in reality, we still end the season leaderless. It really depends on...

If the refs were any good, they'd be plying their trade higher up the pyramid. Not necessarily. All good refs start at the bottom and work their way higher up. There's no reason (in theory)...

The flip side is that for every single one of these clubs pushing to the promised land (FL) someone else falls out of the trap door and it usually spells trouble for them. Not sure what the answer is. I start to wonder if the chasm between Championship and League One is becoming greater than Premie...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM

I’ll go along for the novelty factor of playing Hartlepool however I’m not overly fussed on it as a competitive game, but there will be fans on both sides that see it as a return of the rivalry. If it makes some money and goes off without any major incidents then I’ll be happy.

Opposing fans laughing at us for playing in an empty venue, so what? They laugh at us anyway for being a failed league club stuck in this awful division. Primacy of tenure could be solved if both parties were motivated to do so, plenty of rugby and football teams have got passed this. Except the on...

I don't think there is any way Tommy will improve, but imagine if we had someone competent and we could challenge, and then had to miss out due to the ground again. That would be a disaster.

Yeah, we'd only have to spend millions on keeping the place running, while the club dies. I'm not watching football in an empty, cavernous, faded pink plastic bowl. No we wouldn't, Mowden would. We would pay an agreed rent, just like we do now. The only risk is if Mowden go bust, then we could be p...

It seems no matter what we do some fans will be alienated. Some say they won't go back to the Arena, (most who say that actually would I expect, they just want to show how much they are against it) and some will pack in due to the tinpot nature of BM. Undoubtedly many have already packed in because...
