Re: Darlington V Chorley
I think I would try something different against Chorley, we know they are a good team and one we don't traditionally do well with. Young Griffiths - Lees - Lawler / Siddick (if fit) - Barrow Headley - Hatfield - Platt Cornish Main - Rutlidge Rationale for me is that Headley has looked good going fo...

Re: Moke gone
For me is keep the following - Griffiths , Hedley , Lees , Barrow , Platt , Hatfield, Salkeld , Cornish , Nelson , Main Undecided on Lindley and Rivers at this point , the rest I think we should move on Maybe lindley will have a good career, I hope he does, but I don't think it will be with us pers...

Re: Mitch Hancox
Sounds like it. If we want to manage risk it feels like we need another striker through the door. What about what's-his-name? If he's not fit now he never will be. :? Even if he’s fit I cannot see the point in playing him as he will be miles short of match fitness with only 7 games to go.Such a sic...

I thought Rivers was outstanding when he came on last night, full of energy, pressed the ball, hassled defenders and made the them sit deeper. Excellent on the ball too.

Point a couple of cctv cameras into the section behind the goal and you’ll find the bell end immediately. Not difficultDarlopartisan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 6:53 pmOn look north, saying our ground could be closed, we need to find this person asap, makes me so angry

Depends on the home team. I’ve watched 4 or 5 and they’ve all been oktheoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 1:16 pmWho on this board has tried streaming a Darlo game on NLTV - If so how did it go?
I’ve picked up somewhere that it’s not very good.

A regular poster on here often posts club finance updates on Twitter. An analysis of those with paid positions and their playing budgets compared to ours would be interesting. I’m sure I saw that Scarborough have a paid commercial team but much higher revenues.

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?
I've always been unsure about the dividing lines between Darlington 1883 Ltd and the main shareholder, DFCSG. As DFCSG has an overwhelming majority of the shares, perhaps it's time for them to appoint the Ltd. Co. Board from its own ranks. it could be the same people, if DFCSG chose, providing they...

but I for one would swap that if a similar opportunity came out of thin air. Re: More local competition for good players now at Blyth
Just read about the takeover at Blyth and how they are already planning for new players next season. Totally get that it does not guarantee success but my god it helps. So that’s basically every other decent non league club in the N East probably able to offer much better deals than we can. We will...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
Fans in general have rose tinted glasses when it comes to ex players or those dropped. Sukar is no better than those we already have. We are going down because 90% of the squad is utter shite and have been for 12 months. We need a complete refresh next season, regardless of which division we are in.

Really poor from our side - I always thought that clubs agree when a signing will be announced ? We seem so far off the mark with keeping fans informed it’s crazy , fan engagement at an all time low for me It feels like information is purposefully held back. DJ has led us to a path of success, over the last few years while keeping the finances in check, so not going into administration again, and 6 leagues down. There have been innovations like the way you can pay by tapping on a terminal to pay which were led by the board members, (very rare at other ...

Yes I know to protect both parties, ie you can’t just give someone a 2 year+ contract and say, sorry your out here’s a months wages You can if there is a clause in the contract which allows you to In which case it's not a two year contract. Fixed term employment contracts require the employee to fu...

What does a "two year contract" mean, then? Have you seriously never seen or signed a contract before? Almost every contract is full of clauses and various terms to protect both parties in case of disputes. That's literally the point of a contract. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk Yes I know...

I’m conflicted. I don’t think mass change will be helpful but I’m so disgruntled with the decisions made and the attitude shown by some people on the two boards. It is highly unlikely that we will stay up, so only because of that I think we keep the same leadership as having wholesale changes off th...

It is a good summary but it doesn’t suit 97s narrative that the club is being mismanaged. Same issue, zero creativity. Hatfield & Platt both tough, hard working midfielders but neither of them can create literally anything. Liddle back to non existent self. Cannot win games with those 3 together. We can't win games with Lees and Lawlor together either. They just aren't solid consistentl...

In the boards defence, they had to take a risk given Armstrong left them up s*** creek with his woeful management That being said given his record would have hoped there is at the very least a breaking clause or agreement he is on reduced wages next year if we go down I’ve never known someone so ob...

We’ve missed out on another target today who has ended up at Shields. As much as I hate the idea, we may be better going with what we have rather than signing people for the sake of it, find a formation that gets us scoring goals again and see what happens I tend to agree. Even with one or two addi...

It has already been stated that we have applied for a 70% grant towards the work. Not absolutely certain that it has been approved, perhaps we are still waiting for the money to come through. Only club officials would know the answer, so as others have said, maybe ask the people in the know what th...
