Re: Hodgy
I'd love to know who turned us down, or withdrew from the running, before we appointed Gowling. It seems like more than just Hodgy said no. I'm still personally disappointed we didn't appoint Lakeland but who knows what actually happened. Is this Lakeland the manager of King's Lynn who have lost 3 ...

Re: Hodgy
David Hodgson was guest speaker at Darlington Towns Xmas do. Says he was offered the managers job following AAs sacking but turned it down as he thought Alun was hard done by. Says that he wouldn’t say no if offered it again though but it does concern him how long he has been away from management a...

Did Armstrong shag your wife? I’ve not seen a vendetta like this in years.The_Natural wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 8:39 pmWtf is Gowling doing trying to creatively stretch the budget, why isn’t he throwing his toys out of the pram and giving self serving interviews about how stacked against him everything is like the last clown in charge ?

Whatever Asante is on it's a waste of scarce resources - he's being paid for cantering around for ten minutes or so, seeming to be quite unfit then it's the usual just wait and see we get from the club. They could tell us honestly when he's likely to be fit. What must the other players think of thi...

And AA’s were great and he spent the 160k well???? In my opinion AA's signings have not been as bad as Gowlings rightly or wrongly. At the end of the day Gowlings signings have been just awful, barring a couple. I cannot see us surviving if he remains in charge and if the board stick with him next season really think the BTB will be a disaster. Re: Warrington
I guess there is something in the data which states this is the correct approach, but it doesn’t look convincing Does it even need to be in the data when a team are 1-0 up in the last minute? If Josh kept someone out of the penalty area and we conceded when the opposition throw everyone forward to ...

Re: Warrington
Mistakes sometimes happen in a congested box like that when virtually everyone bar their somewhat erratic keeper was in the area. Their 20st centre forward was also a difficult obstacle to negotiate :D . TT did save us from an even worse result just afterwards. In all honesty he had very little to ...

Re: Warrington
Hopefully Asanti is fit enough to give us something up front tonight, as I'm not quite sure what we'll do otherwise. We've struggled to score goals even with strikers playing And with Lawlor out I'm worried (even more than usual...) about our ability to keep a clean sheet too So, to sum up, I'm not...

It was an odd move which predictably did not work Don't k ow how you can say PREDICTABLY did not work. I can't find anyone on any thread predicting it would not work, indeed someone actually said he was around the first team at Hull. That to me suggests he would have improved us. I think you are us...

Bugger! with Lawlor having a shoulder injury time for Sukar to step in slongside Lees perhap Sukar whos been sacked off is now needed you mean! Could he be blamed if he didn't really give a toss and just went through the motions for a man who obviously doesn't want him around the club? By all accou...

I just don't think it was a hugely sinister lie, in fact I didn't think it was much more than a throwaway comment. More concerned with the next 10 games tbh. They are make or break for our season. I do suspect the board are thinking that a more 'obvious' appointment might have avoided some of this....

There is contextualising how you feel, and then there is making a clear statement that is very blatantly untrue to make you sound a bit better than you actually are. Making yourself sound better than you are? I guess I am not convinced any right minded individual would see the aftermath of an 8-0 d...

However the Chair of the DFCSG made excuses, that we are part-time, that we played at the weekend, that our players have days-jobs - ALL challenges that Chorley faced before the fixture. That's what I'm not happy with. That is the chair of the majority shareholder. Who gave their perspective on thi...

Re: ASANTE SIGNS!!!
We need a result on Saturday? Really? I think we need to get results against Warrington and Rushall. I honestly do not think it matters if we win, lose or go to pens on Saturday. I think we need some kind of performance, whether that results in a win or not is probably less important, but we need t...

Re: Gowling MUST go!
Depends what value he placed on keeping the score respectable - as I say he may have learned more about the players at his disposal from what happened than just putting everyone behind the ball under siege for 75 minutes. No manager would ever consciously think, “I could keep this respectable but I...

Re: Gowling MUST go!
Telling people off. Sorry I know what I'd do at work if someone 'told me off'. "Bye" Great way to prove my point. We want players with grit and fight, not ones who run away / hide when criticised or disciplined. Nonsense. People perform when they have clarity, capability and motivation to do so. If...

Re: Chorley
I've been looking at these goals again on the highlights and something caught my eye. In goals 5 and 6 T.T. just seems to idly swing a defeated leg out, why doesn't he at least attempt to get down on the ball? To me it's not a good look :( For years (but not lately) I’ve seen goalie warm ups where ...

Based on how the first 5 minutes played out, I’m very confident that Chorley would’ve won this game easily 11 v 11. I don't think Jonno and Morley would have accepted our recent performances. And do what, exactly, to reject it. Be shouty at grown adults? I was speaking to someone at Bolton the other day. He was recounting how Sam Allardyce when he was there would never shout at players. He would always talk to t...

Re: Gowling MUST go!
It's becoming clear that we've made a huge mistake with this appointment. There are alarming signs that there are major problems behind the scenes with organisation, spirit and leadership and that has been clear in most of the games, not just in last night's disastrous performance. It is going to t...
