Re: Team for Cup games at Radcliffe and Spenny?

FA Trophy is not to be sniffed at, beat Radcliffe on Saturday and we have a trip to Scarborough which is a potential money spinner if a big crowd turnout. Preliminary Round winners (64) £2,500 First Round Qualifying winners (72) £2,700 Second Round Qualifying winner (36) £3,250 Third Round Qualifyi...

Yes nice pub the Vic,went in there the time before last. Team for Cup games at Radcliffe and Spenny?

Myself I would just play weakened teams and give fringe players a chance, priority has to be to get out of this league and the rest would do some players good.

Whats everyone elses thoughts?

Do the players prefer to play to get match fees, not sure how they are paid?

Re: Prescot Cables v Darlington

Great win, good club Prescot.Atmosphere wws very quiet though compared to some aways. Agreed, great little club and a classic old ground, that grandstand surely has to be the biggest stand in the league?! Had a vague resemblance to the main stand at Consett's old Belle Vue, nice big clubhouse too ju...

Quaker Retail shop on line

I oredered an Avec Black Polo and T Shirt from Quaker Retail on line and have to say I am amazed at the quality of them for the price. Its so good it even makes me look not such a fat git! Bought a City shirt for my youngest at the start of the season and the quality is awful. He will be wearing his ...

How nice to see Darlo play with some width,Mitchell and Watson caused them lots of problems first half.Vital Purewal stays fit.

Nice club Brighouse but would not encourage anyone to walk from the station,I was knackered!

Dont remember the ground being anything special, all I can remember is a wedding reception going on in the Clubhouse at the same time as the game lol. The Metro Link tram is the best way to get from Manchester to the match. The tram stop is 5 minutes from the ground. For anyone coming on the train you can get a tram (towards Ashton) from Piccadily Station that stops at Droylsden. It goes just past Citys Stadium on the way.

Its then a short walk to the ground, couple of pubs next door if I remember.

Re: David Villa Ownership

I was joking with the example of Aguero & Toure. The difference in the case of Man City and United / Chelsea is that they are simply buying clubs, there is no friendly agreement. The owners of City are the same as New York and Melbourne that's where things get murky. I also find it strange that the...

The first pub you come to in the town (not the one right near the station, didn't go in there) was a decent real ale pub doing plenty of food trade too. At some point player ownership must be looked into. I remember years ago when Nike were reportedly stopped from buying (the fat) Ronaldo and then leasing him to teams.
