Re: Pictures for the forthcoming season

We should have signed Lens Jehmann instead. At least he could sub if the goalie gets injured.

It is dependent on wikipedia being accurate.

Not a great policy to rely on Wikipedia, about the same as believing the Lib Dem or any other political party's manifesto! :!:

Re: Thommo's red

Have seen the 'penalty' incident in real-time from behind the goal and later watched the highlights which gives the 180 degree opposite view. From the front, it looked a stonewall penalty as Thommo was entering the box and shaping to shoot, the only doubt in my mind at the time was whether he got in...

Re: no bottle

Piss poor Ref. Tactically out witted, again. the 2 main people to blame for tonight are The ref, and Martin Gray. When a manager gets sent off about 4/5 times a season, there's no wonder why our players lose their heads instead of rising above other sides trying to get under their skins. Its happen...

Re: Martin Gray - No Tactics

Starting team selection was poor as Gray seems to have fallen out with White who would have not allowed Rammy to engage in their style of play without some retribution. He is the one 'old pro' who could have held the defence together and does a much better job as captain than Brown who seemed to hav...

Yes, quite a disgraceful affair. If it had been Darlo fans involved, FA would have penalised us and given Ramsbottom a walkover in the semi. Where is justice when you need it?

Re: Rain

Respect to those people going off to fork the pitch. They should be given tickets to the semi or at least be given the chance to buy tickets! If the forecast is truly that bad and potentially the semi is also in doubt, perhaps we would have a legitimate reason to swap to another venue. Now if only t...

Re: Playoffs

Yes, some kind of voucher issued at the Burscough game to all fans would be the simplest option. It is a nice problem to have, but again could be a PR minefield and potential cause for grievance if true fans miss out especially the ST holders. Anyway most of us would have been happy to settle for a ...

Re: Ian Ward signs for next season

Yes, good news as he gives us options which we have not had. Martin G will be able to work on his fitness and also the rest of the team to work out how to feed off his flick-ons & getting the right kind of crosses in. Certainly arrived at just the right time for the play-offs and with a couple of go...

Re: Play off tickets.

At least having a stall inside the ground for Burscough will give the gate some kind of boost as it will be rewarding the loyalty of fans i.e. go to the Burscough game and you will be entitled to a ticket for the semifinal playoff. This obviates the need for other methods to distribute tokens and fo...

Re: Playoffs

If only there was a large arena nearer to Darlington where we could get over 15000 people in to see football rather than being worried about the capacity at Heritage Park, then we could switch the matches and everyone who wants to go will get a ticket, nae bother. Anybody out there got any ideas? :-...

Knowing our luck, if we play an understrength side, we would get penalised by the FA and have 30 points deducted or even pushed down a league instead of being promoted!

Loads of people would be up for a new shirt IF we get promoted OR Back to Darlo. Please can someone at least model the new strip at the last league match or better still for the shop to have a stall at the playoffs so we can register for an order. This may even help the shop to estimate get the numb...

Re: New shirt

One thing we continually appear to do is net PR 'Own Goals'. We have conceded more of these off the pitch than on. With a bit of fore-thought, we should be adding a Back to Darlo 2014/2015 logo or badge to coincide with the return from Bishop or a double whammie if we get promotion. Most fans would ...

Looking at the Evo-Stik crowd stats, even our lowest home attendance was only bettered by Harrogate RA's best home attendance which was entirely due to their opposition's away travelling fans (no prizes - it was us again)

I am proud of the efforts that a number of true Darlo fans have made to keep something of the club going. Our attendances are a tribute to their loyalty, no matter what the club is called. The FA and most clubs, particularly the Premiership, are totally out of touch with real fans - just witness the...

Re: Who owns the ground at Blackwell Meadows?

I wouldn't fancy our chances of getting through the EGM if the stance was the the Football Club will be on the 1sts pitch forever (kind of falls in line with the existing fears that we'd push rugby to the side). I might be wrong it might be a long term share, personally I would like to see us share...

First of all, thanks to the DRFC members for agreeing to share the ground - it can't have been easy to bring in a 'lodger' who follows a different rulebook. Both sides need to get together asap and form a Project Board to define exactly what needs to be done and devise a plan that will enable both c...

I didn't know that, must have missed it, it's interesting . Not questioning your reliability Lo but is this info kind of - out there - so to speak?
