Re: Atkinson and Gregan gone
There is a kind of Dunkirk spirit coming out of all this mess and this clear out is perhaps what was needed for us to progress. Gray has gone, and with it leaves a legacy for which we are grateful, but the way it was handled leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of most fans, many like me who kept dig...

State of the Pitch
Got a shock when we arrived at around 7pm last night to be told the match had just been declared ON! Upon arriving into the ground, it was easy to see why that an area around 60 square yards in the Tin Shed goalmouth was waterlogged! Think some questions need to be asked in as much as was this a 'on...

Re: Fenwick gone
So out of the players at the Arena pre-season photo shoot, three have departed and one out on loan (plus Wearmouth), and it's still August... Talk of Bartlett on his way soon too.. Fenwick is no big loss having seen what I've seen of him but I still don't see anything better with Caton/Thommo that w...

Re: Poole Town Play Off Issue and Darlo
The statement from the DFCSG makes no mention of this being any kind of oversight or mistake. No apology again. They state that every effort was made by the directors to explore alternative options and the club have been in discussion with the league for some time. The error was clealy discovered a...

You could also perhaps lump Graeme Armstrong in there on the basis of the game at Whitby was the most accomplished performance by a Darlington Centre Forward I've ever seen in one match

Agree with most of the others but whilst not all time 'greats' also consider the likes of Carl Airey, Gary Bannister, Kyle Lafferty, Darren Roberts, Barry Conlon, Jesper Hjorth, Glenn Naylor, Guy Ndumbu-Nsungu, Ian Juryeff and Gary Worthington who all weighed in with important goals at various times

Re: Boxing Day tickets on sale
Seriously, though, I note in the information about tonight's DFCSG meeting that all members are guaranteed a ticket, but what about the rest, including us who recently purchased a mini season ticket? Is that all we need to get in or do we need anything additional? Howay man  This ranks alongs...

Re: Boxing Day tickets on sale
So if there are, say, around 500 season ticket holders, that leaves the balance (around 2500) to go on sale to Darlo/Halifax? What happens if any season ticket holders can't make it, and guess some won't due to the Christmas holidays, assume that place is forfeit as it's unpractical to offer it for ...

Re: Blackwell bar now open to Season Ticket Holders?
But if this is the case, surely it's the wrong way round? The clubhouse has a capacity which once reached, no more can come in until others go out, which will self-regulate due to demand. If it gets to the point that there needs to be additional regulation (such as a fee for access), so be it, but w...

Re: Blackwell bar now open to Season Ticket Holders?
Demand hasn't been a great problem at HP for over 4years in a room half the size of the bar at BM.Cant make my mind up if this is just the club being over cautious or they are trying to milk us.Either way I,or any of lads I chat to in the bar at Bish won't be paying it. That's it in a nutshell. I k...

Re: Darlington FC v Salford City
Not sure how you see Marrs as under threat, quite simply he's been one of our best players over this past month or so, and certainly not under threat from Hunter, who has just returned from two months out injured. Hunter and Brown did OK at centre back on Sunday (not Saturday!) and were solid enough...

Re: Blackwell bar now open to Season Ticket Holders?
What I don't understand is bar access at HP is unregulated, other than if it's busy you may have to queue for a pint, or if it's packed, don't bother. Unless the BM Clubhouse is the size of a portakabin, what's the issue? Most loyal fans, and there are many of us, WILL NOT be paying a £20 surcharge ...

Re: Car parking at BM
Has anyone explored a 'Park and Ride' scheme to alleviate the potential car parking issues as not everyone who supports the team actually lives in the town and as such, have to drive and need SOMEWHERE to park? I have a good friend who owns a local transport company and I mentioned this to him, wher...

Good to see the couple of dozen who turned out for an informative and entertaining couple of hours with Brian, Dave and Ray, just a shame a few more couldn't make it.
A very interesting insight indeed and some exciting plans ahead.

There used to be a signed photo of Kevin Keegan in his Southampton strip playing against Darlo in that friendly/fund raiser, in the Fleece Inn in Northallerton. The former landlords took it with them when they left but as it turns out, I'm still in touch with them so I shall ask if it's still kickin...

Re: Blyth V Workington
They used to have relegation playoffs in the football league back in the 1980s, whereby the third bottom team from, say, division one, played the third top team in division two (eg like Norwich playing Brighton if a snapshot was taken now) with the winner either remaining in, or being promoted to th...

Trophy On Tour - Fleece Inn Northallerton This Thursday
Brian Atkinson as well as one or two of the players will be bringing the Northern League trophy to The Fleece Inn in Northallerton this forthcoming Thursday evening starting at 8pm.
