Re: Update Required?

I watched the Andrew Marr show and felt slightly more positive by what the minister said actually! He said that he had long discussions with the premier league about the need to support clubs lower down the ladder, progress had been made and was hopeful of an agreement being reached this week. Now w...

Re: Ground share

No brainier on two simple fronts:
1. Increased revenue
2. All true fans can see the game.
Whatever our personal view is on either BM or Arena this has to be put aside on this occasion for the good of the club.

Re: Darlington V Farsley

What a strange game. Honestly thought that was as good as I’ve seen us play for a long long time and some of the football would have graced a higher level and a joy to watch........but we lost!! Ultimately that’s what matters. Think our midfield, wide men and full backs ( if Trotman comes back) are ...

Got to admit that I don’t fully understand business accounts. What I don’t get though is that DJ said a year ago that lessons had been learnt and this year they would budget based on no cup run and lower attendances as they had learnt their lesson and the club must run within its means, hence large ...

This is where some early transparency is needed of the current financial position because it just causes speculation and concern when people start “hearing things”. Surely, DJ said enough times a year ago that we were in a sound position and we would be reducing budgets, crowd predictions, not budge...

Get that it’s our choice to comment, but agree that from an existing players point of view there can be no positive from us suggesting with a number of games to go that we would like to be rid of them etc.

Last 2 gamesShows where we are. Much much better than last season but a country mile off being a top team in this division. No coincidence that the top teams have 11 physically strong players, that’s just the way it is and we have some fantastic footballers but not the physicality. We were just outf...

Fantastic return of points over the festive period and in a league position that we could not have imagined. Still have no idea though what go,s wrong at half time. Yet again we batter a team in first half and miss 3/4 gilt edged chances to make the game safe, then play like a completely different t...

Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website

As usual with Darlo, it is never straightforward is it. The only straightforward answer is for one of us to win the euro lottery, job done! Realistically, neither BM or Arena is the answer as we know for all the reasons that have already been put forward. Nothing to do with fan owned or investor mod...

Another Midfielder

Just read that we are on verge of signing another midfielder! Surely not. We must have about 5 central and 4 wide players yet no centre forward and no experienced centre half which we are absolutely crying out for. Surely another midfielder is the last thing we need. Who is he going to drop....Hatfi...

Agree with most of above posts. Think,we need an experienced, tough centre half who is a leader, organiser and shouter nearly as much as a centre forward. Storey, Laing and Galbraith are too similar in that they can all play for sure but none have the qualities above. Not easy to find mind I realise...

It’s not a massive whinge at all! Completely agree that the squad is better than last year, think AA is doing a good job and actually enjoy watching us play now, no issues. Had we not had the injuries, believe we would have had a much better start. All I am saying is that every recent season has see...

Agree with earlier post, just seems same story but with a different manager and players. We don’t need defenders who can do Cruyf turns or ping 70 yard passes....we need them to be able to defend!!, and in nearly every game there are periods when they simply are not! Again, lovely skilful footballer...

Think AA deserves a huge amount of credit. He has put this squad together at very short notice, got them playing attractive attacking football and yet also reduced the budget significantly. They also seem like a group of players who will give 100% every game win or lose and clearly already have a go...

First half was same old story, unable to play against a well organised physical team who defend deep and close us down. We were shocking to be honest, resorting to long balls to our short forward line! No plan B. Second half was a lot better, getting the ball forward much quicker and using the width...

Agree, unless Campbell comes good, not sure where the goals are going to come from. AA says that Thompson will play behind the striker not out wide. Agree, Hereford and York have made some fantastic signings, experienced, solid tried and tested players and would not be surprised if they were not battling each other for the champions.

Noticed Scott Fenwick liked AA message about players asking for inflated wages etc. Maybe completely wrong but he seems the sarcastic sort so maybe a dig at AA. Which manager changes a team that won its last match by putting 3 centre forwards on the bench and playing no out and out striker at all! God knows what formation it is today. Maybe another new one of 4-6-0. !

The fact is that TW had a budget in the summer of £330k which was clearly a very good budget, and probably higher than most of us thought after all the messages around BTB of operating with a much lower one than previous seasons. Whether it was higher or lower than Gray,s doesn’t disguise the fact t...

We need about 6 strong signings, mentally and physically, at least, and really hope he is not the one to make them!

Maybe just me, but I was amazed that TW,s budget was set at £330k! Appreciate it was reduced as season went on but in terms of his summer recruitment was based on what seems a seriously decent budget. No wonder the play offs were the aim. Makes his underperformance, particularly first half of season...
