Re: Kidderminster Harriers 13th Feb
I do wonder if the only reason we are playing league matches is because we want to continue in the trophy and it would look really bad to play one and not the other.

Looking at the BBC weather forecast I don’t think need to, the decision will be made for us.

Re: League restarts 6 February
So the 23 NL clubs effectively get to decide the future of the 66 NLN/NLS clubs and thus give the NL board the result they want ie to complete the season regardless of the consequences. I wonder if this could end up in some kind of legal challenge or, if clubs stick together, refusal to play. H&S du...

Re: Season at risk of finishing early
Looking at option 3, the NL use the word suspend rather than end or cancel the season. Hopefully they don’t intend to try and restart at a later date.

Re: National League North statement
What would happen if the majority of NLN clubs simply turned round and said NO. If 50% or more teams drop out surely the league couldn’t happen. It’s a matter of the clubs sticking together to make change happen.

Can’t believe South Shields were allowed to play a home match on Saturday with a crowd of 600 with the area under a local lockdown. Wonder how much social distancing went on, probably very little.

Re: impact on ground capacity
I think the NL are just desperate to start the season on Oct 3rd but the 1000 limit is going to upset a lot more NL clubs than just us. The question is how long is “ temporary “. If it’s only for a couple of matches we can probably cope, especially if we can bring in some money from on line streamin...

Re: impact on ground capacity
If we do follow the leagues below and have a 900 cap then the arena is a non starter. So we need to find a safe way of getting 900 safely into BM. If 550 is with 2m social distancing could we go for 1m sd and make face masks compulsory. I know face masks aren’t exactly popular but it would get all s...

Re: Ground share
At one point DJ mentioned capacities between 17% and 33% which I assume means 17% (550) with 2m social distancing and 33% if it’s 1m. If so, government advice is that where 2m is not possible then 1m with mitigation i.e. face masks, not standing face to face, is acceptable. So could we make face cov...

Re: October 3rd
Surely instead of a one size fits all solution each club should be working with local health officials, taking into account things like the layout of the ground rather than just using a percentage of capacity. For eg a ground that is very open is likely to be safer than a ground that is enclosed on ...

Re: October 3rd
Would it not be fairer if we have to limit numbers to base it on last season’s average attendance ? I don’t know the exact figures, but let’s say Gateshead ground can hold 10000 but their average gate was 1000 and say numbers were cut to 50 percent because of Covid so they would be allowed 500, we ...

Re: October
A few weeks ago I read somewhere that the FA want all non league football to restart at the same time and not until fans can be present. As for social distancing if the police have no powers to enforce it then football clubs have no chance. But is it really needed at matches at our level? All the pr...

Re: October
If it is the seating which needs social distancing, then for an average gate of 1500 we would need a stadium that could seat 15000. Now can anyone think of somewhere that big yet still in the town? Purely rhetorical & no need to answer that one - George Reynolds was years ahead in his thinking. I'd...

Those rules were written on a one size fits all scenario which is simply not the case. Premier league and on league are worlds apart and need to be treated as such. If the police have no powers to enforce social distancing then volunteer stewards have no chance and you can put up all the signs and m...

BT sport are greedy s@ds. Sky and Amazon are both making a significant number of PL games free to view, BT are not. NLN/NLS clubs need to stick together and find a way to fight this though not sure how. By September it is possible social distancing will be down to 1 metre rather than 2, otherwise sc...

At the AGM DJ said our high earners would be offered reduced terms for next season and, though he didn’t name any one, most of us knew he meant Tommo, Tez and possibly Wheatley so it’s not surprising he’s decided to move on, especially as he was unlikely to be a regular starter.

I see on Look North the chairman of South Shields was saying that they would take legal action against the National league on them being denied promotion & that if they don't get promoted it would cost them between £400K & £500k. Why would they take action against the NL? It's the FA they would nee...

There was a article on the BBC website about why Italy was so much worse than us. Basically it’s because they are a much more ‘tactile’ people than us. Where as we shake hands they kiss cheeks and hug whenever they meet and again when they leave. The perfect way to spread Coronavirus very quickly.

With Thommo, Galbraith and Wheatley on contracts from the TW/MG era I suspect they will be on more money than AA will want to pay so if AA does want to retain them it could well be for less money. If so we could well lose all 3.
