Re: Rushall v Darlington

If, as has been said on here, the ground capacity is only 1400 then even 400 seats behind the goal capacity is still under the 2000 needed for NPL and miles away from the 3000 needed for NLN. Not even sure how a capacity of 1400 allowed them to play in the NPL all these years let alone get promoted....

The ground is right next to the river Cherwell which may cause a problem.

Re: "Idiotic and reckless behaviour does not support our cause"

Trouble is, even if we identify these idiots, all we can do is ban them from home matches. We can’t ban them from away grounds and we can’t stop them travelling. Until that changes I’m not sure what we can do because these idiots don’t actually care about the club and the fines that we get. Is it a ...

Re: Mark Beck

Beck was always going to leave if a full time offer came along, we were a way back for him. On the plus side we showed we could manage without him when he was injured, we have freed up a chunk of budget to bring in a replacement and, hopefully, will get the transfer fee to add a couple extra bodies ...

It's our own fault for having s*** crowds. That's the end of it. This 100% Kiddi average 700 more than us this season… last weekend’s attendance tells us everything! Larger crowds = bigger budget Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Kiddy are still in a football league ground ,we are in a field w...

Re: Darlington V Guiseley

Ellis took a nasty knock near the end of the Chorley match but played on until the end when maybe he should have gone off so he had definitely had an injury. In his PMI Alun said he hoped he’d be back next week. George Smith said yesterday he expected to be back for Chester away in 2 weeks.

Re: 6 players leave

The travelling time involved for anyone living north of the Tyne just to get to training, home matches or the team bus must really mount up. Playing for Blyth will really reduce that and give them a better chance of first team football.

I do wonder if the only reason we are playing league matches is because we want to continue in the trophy and it would look really bad to play one and not the other.

Re: League restarts 6 February

So the 23 NL clubs effectively get to decide the future of the 66 NLN/NLS clubs and thus give the NL board the result they want ie to complete the season regardless of the consequences. I wonder if this could end up in some kind of legal challenge or, if clubs stick together, refusal to play. H&S du...

Looking at option 3, the NL use the word suspend rather than end or cancel the season. Hopefully they don’t intend to try and restart at a later date.

What would happen if the majority of NLN clubs simply turned round and said NO. If 50% or more teams drop out surely the league couldn’t happen. It’s a matter of the clubs sticking together to make change happen.

Re: impact on ground capacity

I think the NL are just desperate to start the season on Oct 3rd but the 1000 limit is going to upset a lot more NL clubs than just us. The question is how long is “ temporary “. If it’s only for a couple of matches we can probably cope, especially if we can bring in some money from on line streamin...

Re: impact on ground capacity

If we do follow the leagues below and have a 900 cap then the arena is a non starter. So we need to find a safe way of getting 900 safely into BM. If 550 is with 2m social distancing could we go for 1m sd and make face masks compulsory. I know face masks aren’t exactly popular but it would get all s...

Re: Ground share

At one point DJ mentioned capacities between 17% and 33% which I assume means 17% (550) with 2m social distancing and 33% if it’s 1m. If so, government advice is that where 2m is not possible then 1m with mitigation i.e. face masks, not standing face to face, is acceptable. So could we make face cov...

Surely instead of a one size fits all solution each club should be working with local health officials, taking into account things like the layout of the ground rather than just using a percentage of capacity. For eg a ground that is very open is likely to be safer than a ground that is enclosed on ...

Would it not be fairer if we have to limit numbers to base it on last season’s average attendance ? If it is the seating which needs social distancing, then for an average gate of 1500 we would need a stadium that could seat 15000. Now can anyone think of somewhere that big yet still in the town? Purely rhetorical & no need to answer that one - George Reynolds was years ahead in his thinking. I'd...
