Re: Retention for next year

Agree with most. Would let Laing go and hang on to Trotman if we can, but if he gets an offer from higher up or ends up being a side celebrity after Love Island so wants to be closer to home we can make our peace with that. Tez and Thommo are legends but I'd be pulling them in and seeing how they'd...

Re: Retention for next year

I think we need a big ugly experienced CB if we want to go up. Liangs the one to make way.

Still think Thomos got another year in him and thought Donawa would be bought by someone further up the leagues but hes not in the best form atm so that might scupper that.

Re: New kit

I like 1, would be great as rest of the kit is White.

Would love to see the 3 small hoops design of late 60s early 70s (I think) as that is the first home kit I remember.

My first Darlo game in 1975 at SWFC, Darlo wore White shirts and Red shorts as an away kit!

Re: Solihull Moors Away - FA Trophy 1st Rnd

87 sounds right for the away following as it looked more so I counted them.

Solihull really tried to win the game so full credit to the lads.Get a couple or three players back from injury and a couple of signings and we have a great squad.

Re: Leamington (A)

We need a nasty, hard, horrible centre half who can organise and a nasty, hard, horrible , massive centre forward who can bully people, hold the ball up and score goals. Those players must be out there, hard men who drive the team on...and want any win bonus going! I think with those 2 additions an...

Re: Leamington (A)

We are one player, namely an out and out centre forward, from being a bloody good team for this level. Sounds awful on DFR, feels like we dont believe we can win. Agree, need to give the opposition more to worry about and a striker will bring back confidence. Chester and York coming up, you just kn...

Re: Darlington v Gainsborough Trinity FA Trophy

He was warming up on the pitch the other week, so you'd assume so. I'd guess he's maybe training with us, based on that. Sure Kneeshaw was sat behind me v Walsall, was talking about an injury to his mate so think it was him. Was going to have a chat at the end but he left early to go towards the cl...

He's like the Duracell bunny! Incredible energy and stamina, box to box constantly. Big, big addition to the team.
Be amazed if someone higher up the leagues does not come in for him.

Hope not but money talks

Re: Darlington V Walsall Match Thread

I was not disappointed with anyone in a Darlo shirt tonight but if I had to pick one player as the most outstanding performer tonight it would be Michael Liddle. He is a class act at full back. Agree.Liddle was poor at Curzon but has grown into the position with us now.Hes fearless. Cant fault one ...

Well guys it’s really happening. Just drove down A66 near Blands Corner and there are what look like two television towers erected. Re: Louis Laing

Could he be converted to a stopgap striker. He is tall enough to win headers and has a fair amount of skill on the ball so could be a possible option for us.If Hedley and Liddle are available on Wednesday he will be surplus to requirements as a defender.Would give us a different type of threat if s...

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper

Great performance from the players and fans. That said I cant remember in all my years of following football watching a team miss as many easy chances as Walsall did today, we will have to be tighter in the replay. Can see some of our players (and manager) being targeted by other clubs. What a job A...

Anyone calling for Sunderland away or Hartlepool away (did they get through, I haven't checked?) is short sighted. The OBVIOUS best thing for us is the easiest possible home tie in round 1 because there is £36,000 on it. And we're due a home tie. Then if we get through round 1 - same again please i...

Its a shame for TW but I met some Corby directors in Chesham last season (on my way to Wembley with City again) and they liked him but said there was no way he would be brought back as a manager.
