Re: Simply not good enough

I think most fans have conceded that it's so much better than last year. There is a hint of disappointment that we aren't higher up the table with more points, but we certainly aren't a million miles away. I'd say a CF and CB would make a massive difference. Pretty much like every player we have whi...

Re: Darlington V Telford

someone had said that Holness was ill. Not sure how true that is.

Best not to dwell too much on Saturday. If you'd have offered me what we've got so far this season (in light of last season) then I'd have snapped your hand off

Re: O'Neill recalled

whilst it's been frustrating watching O'Neill watch games, he is their player and they had injuries. For the ones calling Woodgate and Boro, what is the first thing we did regarding the Walsall replay after we realised we were short of players. We looked for where Bell and Halliday were? They were o...

Re: Darlington v Gainsborough Trinity FA Trophy

I’ve been saying for a while that Donowa should be starting... and really now has to be the time. He’s an immense talent, and honestly, I’m not slagging Campbell off, but given the respective form of the two players, I’d be giving Donowa a game ahead of him for now. Seems strange to call for a chan...

Re: BT Sport coverage Darlo vs. Walsall

just on the stewards. I didn't see any stewards until kick off was approaching (or perhaps had started).

Do the stewards not do the car park, and when that's done, come into the ground? Therefore by the time they'd come into the ground there was already too many people stood there?

Recording of Walsall game

Does anyone have the full programme from last night? If someone could stick it on DVD for me I’d be willing to pay £5 or donation to the club

Re: Darlington V Walsall Match Thread

I've been arguing that Campbell isn't a centre forward, but people have been telling me he is fine in that role as evidenced by the number of goals he scored. So is the consensus now that Campbell isn't a centre forward? Campbell worked tirelessly for the team. Didn't get to see him as much as I'd ...

Re: Tough one to call....Wednesday's game

In the 1st game they had 2/3 almost open goal chances....hopefully they'll wear the same boots. the 2 strikers for Walsall have both been benched. New duo to contend with. Number 25 Macdonald who came on after 20 (and was the best player on the pitch after that) has been starting. Completely differ...

Re: Jack Lambert

Understood but AA has known since the day Tyrone was signed that he'd have to be replaced. It's unfortunate that is sooner than he anticipated but hopefully replacement can be found soon. I am sure there us a lot of work going on behind the scenes. His plan was to transition to Gary Martin in Janua...

Registered on 27th and not dual registered? Bell is an odd one. I get he has a lot of competition here, but i'd like to see him given a go. Maybe he'll get a run in the trophy. I kind of get what you’re saying, but who’s he going to play in front of? He’s got Thompson, Campbell, rivers ...

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget

I must admit I thought that Shields might just grant him another month's loan to allow him to play in this big game. I'm sure they would have extended his loan at somewhere like Whickham at the drop of a hat. Clearly he would love to play in the first round of the cup at a league ground and Shields...

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget

agree with a few, we can't do a boost the budget for everytime we want a player. Clubs get wind of it, it would scupper every deal the board/AA do in the future as they'd always want more £££. Not sure I understand why SS need him. He'll be on a decent wage and he's not playing. A club at that level...

Re: Darlington V Kidderminster

What impressed me the most was how much of a team we looked. We defended as a team, we attacked as a team. The effort was there for us to see. As Q says, it's like night and day in comparison. AA looks like he knows exactly what he's doing. Throughly enjoyed last nights game. Whilst they did have pl...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington Match Thread

I couldn't make the game, so was using flash scores. Part way through the game I saw Tamworth - Darlington 1-2 and thought £UC&. Next thing I know it's come through as Tamworth - Darlington 0-3. Must have been that one on the highlights that half the ground thought had gone in. Think we scored only ...

Re: Burn Gone

one point is that Burn's proposed loan and permanent moves, were so he WASN'T financially worse off. We were going to pay a portion of his wages on loan, and Whickham offered him the same money. This leads me to think that he wanted to be paid off, then go to Whickham

Both aren't likely to start. But I'd expect Justin to get 30 mins against tired legs

I understand that AA has tried everything with Burn. Offered him out on loan to Whitby where he would have received same money (with us paying part wages). Offered to Whickham permanently, in same wages. Offered to train with first team with view to playing RB but made no effort in training so it wa...

Re: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round - Away to Tamworth or Hereford

The aftermath of the game has really exposed what an angry atmosphere there is at Hereford despite them being in the play-off positions. They seem to back the manager Slade but want most of the players out, including Styche, who seems to be hated by most of them. And he didn't even play in the cup ...

I honestly think he'd work well as a youth coach. The attention he gave Saunders before he left. Most youth football is soft so it goes with his style of play (that's not a dig, that's the truth)

the draw could have been better, could have been worse. Whoever we play, it will be tough, but we are capable of winning or at least gaining a replay. Leamington did lose their main goalscorer from last year. Had a decent start but have tailed off a bit.

I can't believe the use of the word "but" on the bunker to be honest. It actually seems to completely b...

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup

To be honest I still wouldn't put Burn in. Laing to face a fitness test before the game. If he fails it I'd expect. A back four of Hedley, Galbriath, Watson, Liddle. Guess the positive is Laing is fit enough for a fitness test, means most likely, even if he doesnt pass for the game tomorrow, he sho...
