Re: Best opponents faced this season

This is my thoughts based on mainly home games Very Good Brackley - proper team with no outstanding individuals Altrincham - ripped us up through hard work, but we never got at them Decent Chorley - but we should have won Bradford - played ok at times Average Stockport - played them at the start of ...

Re: Tommy Wright: 19/20 Season. Yay or Nay

I'm probably a 60-40 in favour of him AND Alan going. If we get someone new in, I'll back them, if we decide to give them another go, I'll back them. I won't spit my dummy out like some of our fans who think we have a godgiven right to be in the playoffs just because DJ stated it or we have a decent...

Re: Blyth...

Blyth might just get picked apart by the new kids on the block, Morpeth, and their minted backer. They'll be in the NPL next season but are aiming for National North after they add a few more players. They were second bottom of Northern League Div 2 in 2010-11 playing in front of 75 fans but haven'...

Re: Tommy Wright: 19/20 Season. Yay or Nay

We had the same poll last month and the result was a majority wanted TW gone. Andy is pro-TW and wouldn't have set this up if Darlo hadn't won three on the spin. For once I actually agree with Darlo_Pete. Doubtless we'll have to have another poll at the end of the season too. Oh get off your fuckin...

Re: TW - Learning His Trade

Would you be happy with Jason Ainsley as manager? Someone who has a virtual blank cheque at the start of the season and can get new players in to create even more competition, yet has proven that even that sort of set up does not guarantee anything? For me the biggest issue with Wright is that he f...

Re: Another summer of change ahead

My opinion (obviously depending on contracts) would be: Release: Maddison - Has ability but had a chance but doesn't instill enough confidence. Burn - not interested from what I hear O'Hanlon - disappointed with him as he started so well for us Henshall - not shown anything really Unsure Ainge - pot...

Re: Next season

can't see that Alfreton would buy Styche for £££ and only give him a contract to the end of the season. He'll be signed up to the end of next season, which means we can't afford him. Also, when people are looking at manager candiates, they need to include managers who can also run an academy. It's ...

Re: Adam Bartlett

I'd defo have him back, but as some have said, would:

a) he be willing to after abuse he got from 'some' people. I would say that some have also applauded him
b) he be affordable

if the answer to a and b are yes then it's a no brainer to me

Yes he was sold to balance the books, however a new budget is available in the summer, how much of that is available to spend I don't know. Not saying we could afford Styche or someone of his level but we need to try to bring someone in to lead the line. Be great to find a Mark Beck type again, alt...

Re: FC United

It’s a good question, as our league placing are getting worse each season. From 5th to 12th to ?th. Let’s re-sign Styche. Getting rid of the twat on the touch line needs to be a priority. Then we could try and get Styche back. Not sure what makes TW a twat? I agree he's not a great manager, but tha...

Re: Darlington V Stockport

I think a lot of the damage to support for the club and income set in during the earlier part of the season when we won just 2 out of 12 League and Cup games at BM. Up until the end of October TM had a goalscorer on the books in Reece Styche along with all of his summer signings and Syers (although...

Re: FANS NETCAFE -this Friday evening.

One thing that we do need to give TW credit on is the running of the academy which he’s doing on his own and not getting paid any extra. Having said that it’s not enough to keep his job if his contract is up. Need a manager that is willing to do the same

Re: Darlington V Chester

The last I checked, we paid to renovate the pitch, and the last I checked, it's the money from the football club that keeps the rugby club going. I'm all for co-operation and better relations, but there's a point where lines should be drawn (and i don't mean literal lines like the ones all over the...

.... I can't believe that the board can honestly sit and think that TW is the man for the job. There's not much in his favour at the minute. ... his work at and involvement in setting up the Academy perhaps? Can't be the only basis for managing the team. Plus someone else could take that on. It wou...

Re: FANS NETCAFE -this Friday evening.

I have no questions for Wright that will do me, the club or Wright any favours. He needs to get some points from the last 6 games, particularly FC Utd, Guiseley and Leamington, he can then bow out not so gracefully. Once safe (if we manage it) we announce Tommy is leaving and BTB relabelled as "fun...

Re: Darlington V Chester

Have to agree with Gramps, the dwindling crowds are the biggest concern. Other concerns are TW's abilities to manage and motivate and I can't see any evidence that it's working. DJ is never going to answer the 'length of contract' question at the netcafe I'm very much in the opinion that if TW's con...

Yes I get your point. I'm no big fan of a lot of TWs decisions/tactics etc but I don't think letting Vaulks go should be used as another excuse to have a go at him. I'll defend him when I think he's got it right although I agree there are plenty of times he's got it wrong. So I understand you not tr...

Normally you would find out if a player is good enough to be in the team by putting him in the team. Do you reckon Vaulks thinks he was given a fair crack of the whip to stake his claim given that his appearance tally this season was 0? That's not a "wank fest", just a legitimate question over a pl...

Nothing to do with bottle, Spennymoor were beaten by a better side on the night. At the end of the season the league table presents a true picture of how sides have performed No complaints. TW would be crucified for playing Burn there. They would say, with the benefit of hindsight...’why play him when we have Elliott, Wheatley etc

I’m not too far off beatroute. Tactically I think TW is very poor, seems to tinker too much. Was slow in the loan market. Took pace out of the team. Finally get a formation that has potential then changes. But he doesn’t try to put the club at risk with overspending, he’ll set up the academy, he has...
