Re: Burn Gone

I'm not saying he isn't within his rights to do this. But it seems obvious that money is the motivation.

Re: Burn Gone

one point is that Burn's proposed loan and permanent moves, were so he WASN'T financially worse off. We were going to pay a portion of his wages on loan, and Whickham offered him the same money. This leads me to think that he wanted to be paid off, then go to Whickham

Don't forget some of our squad were involved in a midweek game, Bermuda v Guatemala (0-0)
Both aren't likely to start. But I'd expect Justin to get 30 mins against tired legs

how does a transfer window work in terms of 'restraint of trade'. Surely this is restrictive?

Re: Burn Gone

I understand that AA has tried everything with Burn. Offered him out on loan to Whitby where he would have received same money (with us paying part wages). Offered to Whickham permanently, in same wages. Offered to train with first team with view to playing RB but made no effort in training so it wa...

Re: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round - Away to Tamworth or Hereford

The aftermath of the game has really exposed what an angry atmosphere there is at Hereford despite them being in the play-off positions. They seem to back the manager Slade but want most of the players out, including Styche, who seems to be hated by most of them. And he didn't even play in the cup ...

Re: Tommy Wright Stratford manager

I honestly think he'd work well as a youth coach. The attention he gave Saunders before he left. Most youth football is soft so it goes with his style of play (that's not a dig, that's the truth)

Re: Leamington or Chasetown

the draw could have been better, could have been worse. Whoever we play, it will be tough, but we are capable of winning or at least gaining a replay. Leamington did lose their main goalscorer from last year. Had a decent start but have tailed off a bit.

I can't believe the use of the word "but" on the bunker to be honest. It is obvious that many are trying to deliberately combine the issue at hand with contentious refereeing decisions - even though every single one of those decisions came post the incident itself. It actually seems to completely b...

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup

To be honest I still wouldn't put Burn in. Laing to face a fitness test before the game. If he fails it I'd expect. A back four of Hedley, Galbriath, Watson, Liddle. Guess the positive is Laing is fit enough for a fitness test, means most likely, even if he doesnt pass for the game tomorrow, he sho...

Re: Josh Heaton

We cant afford not to have the money from a cup run, a good run would give AA budget to play with. Not necessarily. It would depend on if the club was performing financially better or worse than projected at that time. For example is the commercial hitting target, are the gates hitting forecast? On...

Re: Darlo v York

football really is fine margins. There were a few things that didn't go for us: 1. The ball hitting the post and bouncing out. Centremetres one way and we'd have been 1 up 2. CB getting injured. This meant that we had 2 left footed CBs, with one of them only being 5'10 or 5'11 i would guess (up agai...

It’s not a massive whinge at all! Completely agree that the squad is better than last year, think AA is doing a good job and actually enjoy watching us play now, no issues. Had we not had the injuries, believe we would have had a much better start. All I am saying is that every recent season has se...

my understanding is that Headley is on non-contract terms. If he isn't good enough then we can get rid. If we want to keep him, then we can offer him more. Sensible approach to me

Until we scored I thought we looked garbage. We looked slow, lethargic and didn't look up for a fight which spurred them on a bit. Think our equaliser was massively important. Didn't fancy playing a full half 1-0 behind as the crowd would have got more and more frustrated. After the goal, we were do...

Re: Southport Highlights

the yellow card he gave Donawa was a poor decision. We had a good view of this. It was clearly a foul/yellow card. The Donawa was a foul and the yellow is debatable. I think the frustration for me was that the Liddle challenge went unpunished, the challenge on Bascombe went unpunished and the fact ...

With Thommo no available for Southport game, perhaps a chance to play O'Neill & Campbell as a front pair in a 4-4-2? What you mean like we did on Saturday when Thompson played on the left and Rivers on the right? Looked like a 4-4-2 to me, but people are convincing themselves it was a 4-2-3-1 just ...

Downside is it is horrific, nearly killed the club on more than one occasion, not fit for purpose, may lead to a further reduction in crowd and many more reasons I can’t be bothered to add. The difference is that if we move back as tenants, we won't be responsible to the overall costs of the stadiu...

Two enforced changes: Trotman out: Watson in and swap full backs Holmes out: O'Neill in I’d like to see Atkinson in with Hatfield, that Holness/Hatfield partnership is very poor when we are in possession. They are both very frantic and like a dog with a balloon when they have the ball. I’d also lik...

Thought Liddle and Thompson were very good last night. Loved Liddle's drive and determination. There's plenty of positives to go with some negatives. Just like the start of every season. There's things that have gone well and things we need to work on. I have worries that teams scout us and then pla...

Re: Farsley V Darlington Match Thread

In terms of excuses, the pitch and refs didn’t help. We should of had a free kick for a blatant block on rivers leading to their first goal. In term of individuals there were question marks over a few but thought Hatfield was great, Campbell showed plenty and had the pitch ran as it should he would ...
