If Mowden go bust there's a stadium we can probably buy for a quid! Not that we could realistically afford to run it.

It might get demolished and we might be able to use some of the land, you never know. Anyone got a spare £10 million?
10m doesn't last long sometimes, just tell that to Mowden

Heard that we could be in for Sol Brynn from Middlesbrough on loan. Only a rumour from twitter though.

Re: The Team 20/21 season

I find comments on Wrightson a little bit odd if I’m honest. He is only 22. He can cover out wide on the right or left. His minutes at Blyth have been fairly limited and last season he played in a shocking team. For the wages he would likely command (not much) and his versatility it makes sense (as...

He’s been offered reduce terms, he isn’t guaranteed a starting place, AA has said he wants another CB, his mate Thommo has left. I can’t see him staying. Will be the end of an era

Re: Potential new signings

I think if we're going to sign a player in the Hopson mould then it will be Jack Lambert. Absolutely agree, just threw Hopson out there as players who could be linked with us. Interesting to see that Alun is wanting to go for a couple of CFs, maybe one in the more Campbell mould(Maguire) and then a...

Re: New deal for, Donawa , Hatfield, Rivers, Holmes Hedley

Last season’s players we’re still waiting on: Laing, Storey, Galbraith, Watson, Liddle, Holness, Atkinson, Campbell, Reid, Wheatley. Could also include Lucas Bell, although he played very little part for the first team. If the bulk of those first 10 senior players sign, we probably only need two or...

Regarding Ainsley, you’ll note how poor their start to the season was last season, you will note the coincidence that they picked up when Taylor came back. I’m not suggesting they are a one man team but they are a different prospect with and without him

Re: Luke Trotman on his way

don't agree with the idea that he's not bothered by football. I think he'll be committed but it takes a lot to travel 3/4 hours up for a training session and a game all the time. He's looking at the bigger picture which is for himself and his family, and I have no problem in someone doing that.

Holness, i believe has been offered a contract as has been said all last season squad other than Elliott and thomo who's gone of his own volition and Trottman who is currently on the books but doesn't want to travel. We await with baited breath on the incoming players. I’d expect over the next week...

Re: Former players

in regards to Hopson, he tweeted that the manager was going for a different style of play which he wouldn't suit. Could be an excuse the manager has given, as Whitby seem to be doing well for a team of their size (plus the geography must cause issues). I'd be interested to see if we would look at Ji...

Re: The moment we've all been waiting for...

I think a source of financial issue always will be players wages. 20/25 years ago wages weren't a massive issue, but since the introduction of sky and the amount of £££ they've put in, clubs have made more money meaning that players could ask for more money and this has spiralled through the divisio...

I'll be honest I would expect an u23 at Newcastle to be earning more than someone at Carlisle but I don't really know after that point it is all a bit of a guess. You don't but I think the perspective is that Armstrong probably does and see him as pivotal. It’s guesswork yes, but I’d also suggest A...

Re: Retention for next year

If I had to be brutal (which the world of football is), I would say: GK - if AA can line someone up then, I'd release both Connell and Elliott. If not, then retain Elliott RB - I'd expect Trotman to go, Hedley to stay LB - Liddle is excellent (Watson is likely to be a cheap backup for LB and CB) CB ...

Looking at the highlights of the Spendy game, there's hardly anyone there. I would have thought the actual attendanc...

from memory Osagi did get a run in the team, then had to be pulled out because of international duty and hasn't got back in since. Wheatley getting back to fitness being the main one. Decent player, but we have better, so no point in holding on.

Good luck to him
