Re: Nick Blackwell

I never said knocking them out

That's just an added bonus

Re: Nick Blackwell

To outscore your opponent

The 'aim' isn't to hurt or injure them. It's a sport.

Re: Nick Blackwell

To be honest, I'm not keen on any sport that involves animals, but I see your point. I know a few amateur boxers, and it's true that a lot of young kids who may well be off (or going off) the rails have had their lives turned around through boxing. I know a couple who now work with similar kids them...

Re: Sponsor a Goal scheme 2015/16

I pledged £1 per league goal this season but I'm doing one better. I'll only be able to make half a dozen home games next season (probably less) due to work / family commitments, but I'll be buying a couple of season tickets for me and the old man. I usually pay on the gate, but every little helps.

Re: Nick Blackwell

I didn't mean it in that context

I meant when we see tragedies in sport, we always get people with little or no interest in a sport crying out for changes and sometimes for the sport to be banned.

Re: Nick Blackwell

I completely agree, but the amount of people who are calling for the sport to be banned, and also blaming the referee is absurd.

It's the same as horse racing in that when we get horses dying at the national, people jump on the bandwagon calling for changes,

Re: Nick Blackwell

Why, when other sports are taking commendable action regarding head injuries, are boxers still allowed to go into the ring with the express intent of knocking their opponent senseless? And then Eubank Jr spouts: "This is what boxing needs, two warriors who stand and fight." Incredible. At least his...

Reynolds - Playing by his own rules

Does anyone have a copy of this that they could put onto a DVD or something?

Happy to pay the costs and put something into the Darlo fund

Cheers,

George Best

Today marks the tenth anniversary of his death. I'm sure some on here will have memories of him from his playing days. My old man is a United fan, and still maintains that Best is the greatest player that he's ever since. It seems there are plenty that share those views. Anyone on here old enough to...

Re: England have every chance of progressing in the Euro's

Austria have been slowly building a decent side over the past few years. They were unbeaten in qualifiers and won all five of their away games.

I'd much rather play any of the other pot two sides (excluding Italy)

Switzerland, Hungary and Albania would be the best outcome for me.

Austria?

Do you not watch much international football?

They're certainly not the weakest team in pot two - one of the strongest I'd say

Re: Beckham at Darlo/Bish re class of 92/Salford

I think it's a very odd project which seems to be completely ego driven. In a city that's saturated with football clubs, where a new team driven by fan support is making waves in the form of fcum, it's wholly unnecessary. Half of them say they support bury, but say that area of the city is short of...

The only "fact" involved is that there aren't that many black managers, the rest is nothing but pure conjecture and assumption. Why is this even an issue? Why does there have to be a certain percentage of people in a particular job with a particular skin colour, or a particular gender for that matt...

Re: Darlington FC 2009 Ltd - Liquidator's rpt 2015

I wonder why Norwich gave us money? The only player that comes to mind that is playing there that was once with us is Kyle Lafferty. Just a point, Dan Burn made his 20th game for Fulham at the beginning of October 2014. He has since made his 40th. I believe the original transfer was reported that t...

Other than his final year, he did remarkably well with Dortmund. And to be fair, they did suffer some rotten luck with injuries during his final few months there.
