Fantastic effort to get over £80,000 ... it's been a positive last few months (Southport match apart !) on and off the pitch

Re: Darlington v Brackley Town
Well beaten today by a team superior all over the pitch ... ...just to add insult to injury I had the misfortune of being near a bellend from Brackley for most of the match. This Side Show Bob look-a-like was hugely irritating... I obviously could of moved but I like my usual 'spot' at the open end....

Re: Short-termism
A 'measured' post Gramps of which I entirely agree with... although I would 'dread' another fans forum like the last one. Personally I'm in favour of getting it right 'off the pitch' first and if that means staying in the Conference North for a while so we can get the club infrastructure right then ...

And if we win, we could be in the playoff zone as we are only two points off that !Darlo_Pete wrote:I think next weeks game is crucial, if we lose at Boston then we'll be close or in the relegation zone and the pressure will only build on Gray.

Re: Match thread?
Apart from the opening 30 seconds or so, I thought we played great today. We look 'full' of goals performing like that. It would be nice if we could get regular crowds over 2000 but it appears some 'fans' in the Town still need convincing before they return. The weather didn't help just prior to kic...

I'm sure anyone can just create an account on wiki and change various pages. Well played to those who are doing it on our behalf. I've also noticed the National League website still has us down as Darlington 1883 too. I've sent an e mail to them requesting for our correct name to be reflected acros...

Re: TICKETS FOR THE SALFORD GAME
Don't want to go all Kevin Keegan "I would love it...." but when I read comments like the following on their board I really hope the lads shove it right up where the Salford sun don't shine..... "They've also been having bucket collections in recent weeks. I'm thinking of leaving some buckets with ...

Re: From the Board of Directors Summary of Appeal
A reasonably professional statement from the club in my opinion. We now have a timeline of events and what the basis of the appeal will be. Will the FA accept they communicated the term "500 seats" to the club and not "500 covered seats" ? I doubt it... A quote of £33,000 to move the temp seats from...

Re: UK Manchester Match Thread
Great performance from the team, despite the boardroom upheaval earlier in the day. The atmosphere was great too with the Shed in good voice in various parts of the game. I thought everyone was excellent and credit to Martin Gray for his professionalism in having the lads ready to put on a display l...

Re: Digits gone Darlington FC
Great work by our club director Jon Jowett to get this done. I agree with bantopp and al_quaker Getting rid of the digits was one of three main tasks this season along with getting back playing home games in the town and being competitive in the National North Despite Saturday's result and off the f...

Re: Gainsborough Trinity V Darlington FC Match Thread
Mixed feelings after walking out from this match yesterday ... I've seen some brilliant 0-0 draws in my time ..... this seemed the complete opposite .... a crap 3-3 In my opinion, whilst there were some decent individual performances , there were too many players who didn't perform as well as expect...

Re: Match thread
Very pleasing performance against a side which did have a decent reputation. We nullified them and deservedly won the game. Despite the 10 minutes added on, there was nothing to be alarmed about and we comfortably saw the game out Onto Bradford PA .... we shouldn't under estimate them, it will be a ...

Looking forward to this one...
Yes, we should beat them, but a crap referee, a stupid red card for one of the players or just plain bad luck can be the difference in any match
A disciplined performance by every Darlo player tonight should be enough to beat Altrincham though

Difficult game today. We didn't play well in my opinion. I thought a draw would have been a fair result but it wasn't to be. One win in ten matches is a concern.. At least 'off the pitch' seemed to go better than Boxing Day. A 2,300 crowd fitted comfortably in. Hopefully we will be able to attract t...

Re: Tickets so far
Just making this game happen has been an epic effort by the board, supporters club officials and all the other volunteers. I personally don't think the absence of a beer tent should be an issue on day one. There's bound to be small 'issues' for a few games until everyone has settled in to their matc...

Re: Martin Gray agrees 5 Year Contract
I've just tried to 'tot' up his league record (not cups !!) since he became manager at our nadir.... 4 full seasons and 12 games of this season ..... there might be an odd error in the calculations but it's near enough... Won 137 Drawn 22 Lost 29 Goals for 478 Goals against 166 Stunning record by an...

Re: Bradford PA v Darlo Match Thread
Although we dominated possession for long periods and forced a large amount of corners in the game it felt a bit of a subdued performance from the players on the pitch. In my view, I think those of us in the seats didn't give the kind of 'backing' to the players that we know we are capable of either...

Green Bay Packers get huge support from Milwaukee which is about 100 miles south and that city has a large metropolitan population over a couple of million and it doesn't have an NFL team. I sure when the NFL first arrived on our screens back in the 80's , Green Bay use to play 3 home games a season...
