It's just outside Crewe.
Admittedly it's just outside Crewe but it's only 22 miles from Wrexham
I'm struggling to understand why Nantwich's relative proximity to Wrexham is an issue. Nantwich has got a train station and is 30 mins from the M6. There must be harder places to get to.

Re: FA CUP FIRST ROUND

I know Whitby are in the league below us, are they the lowest team ( in terms of league) left in the cup, from the northern section? Anyone Chippenham is the lowest ranked club still standing. They started in the extra preliminary round so that’s 6 wins the same as Liverpool need to win the cup! Yo...

Re: FA CUP FIRST ROUND

There's a great stat in Craig Stoddart's Echo report; this is the first year that Darlo have won 3 FA Cup ties since 1988/9. That year we had three home draws and saw off Runcorn 4-2, Northwich 6-2 and Halifax Town 3-0 (featuring Les McJannet's classy backheeled goal). What makes this year's run al...

Re: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round - Away to Tamworth or Hereford

Same chance as everyone else, but I’m more focused on getting through first Nope. Same chance as everyone else before the first ball is drawn , 1 in 79, but chance (or perhaps probability is a better word) becomes 1 in 78, 1 in 77 and so on as each ball is drawn out (bearing in mind it's 30+ years ...

For those interested in maths and statistics, the chances of getting a bye to the second round are 1.2658% assuming you’re in the draw of course [emoji6]
And the chances increase with every ball that's pulled out of the bag.

Strange as he had the offer to sign for Whickham anyhow, must have wanted the pay out is the only assumption I can come to.
If that is the reason then he really is a Grade A.

Thommo on the long injury list.
What's the story there? In his interview after the Alfreton (?) game I'm sure Thommo said it was just cramp. Anyone know what the problem is as couldn't see anything on official site about it.

Styche is on international duty.
I took Loid's "he didn't even play in the cup defeat" comment to mean "he didn't even play in the cup defeat and yet he still gets stick" rather than "he didn't even play in the cup defeat because he's out of favour/disliked etc".

Re: Hereford v tamworth

So it’s important not to get complacent just because we’re facing a lower league side. I remember us playing Farnborough in the 3rd Round proper about 15 years ago. We were in League Two (or Division 3 as it was) and big favourites to win at home v a non-league side. We lost and missed out on a gam...

Whitby showed tonight that anything can happen in the cup. They made the long journey to Evesham for the replay with Gloucester and had about 7 players injured or unavailable due to the short notice. People saying they prefer Chase as we will have a better chance need a bit of a rethink. I would prefer Chasetown as they are in a lower division and that gives us slightly more chance of being on TV meaning more money. Neither are easy to get to by train!
