Re: Today's results Saturday November 16th 2019

If you're only going to watch one goal from the weekend, make it Callum Roberts' hat-trick goal for Blyth Spartans, it's amazing, after going the full length of the pitch. He's now got 13 for them this season... they'll be well fecked when he moves on, as he surely will. Aye, nice goal. Good run an...

Re: Be sure to get a ticket

I don't think a rise of £2 would have harmed anybody & it would have brought in more funds into the coffers. It's ok for Premiership sides to do it week in & week out by much more than £2, but not for other clubs? As a matter of fact, no, I don't think it's ok for Prem teams to do it. It might have...

You have to agree any replay prices before the original tie so that no exploitation takes place. FA rules.
Ok thanks for that VV.
But if that rule hadn't been in place you'd have been happy for the club to stiff its fans/owners?

I doubt if they'll be any tickets left by tomorrow. Perhaps the club should have raised ticket prices, like some clubs do when they have big matches, especially if we know that demand would exceed supply.
The mind boggles.

Might be slightly better if unsegregated as hardly any Walsall fans will be coming anyhow, they barely could be bothered to turn up at home on a Saturday - never mind accept the open end segregation on a cold Wednesday night up North.
Will be segregated according to official site.

As Roy Hodgson might say - we also played Wiverpool in our roaring twenties heyday. Applauded off by an appreciative Kop after a gallant 1-0 defeat in the cup. Also we should allow Wednesday after that 40 yard winner in the league cup. Before the league cup lost its lustre. Except he wouldn't thoug...

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper

Julian Joachim played for Walsall the season before we signed him. According to the wonderful, but not necessarily comprehensive, http://www.neilbrown.newcastlefans.com/darlington/darlington.html , Bertrand Bossu left us for Walsall. We had Taiwo Atieno (nope, me neither) on loan from Walsall in 20...

they were very fortuitous with their first goal which was a ridiculous penalty call by the ref. A Farsley player very fairly cleared the ball and Harriers' Ashley Chambers did an elaborate balletic fall over his leg to con the ref who pointed to the spot. It was laughable. Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

Aside from the difficulties for the travelling fans (which doesn't come into it for TV bosses), you can see why each of the live games have been chosen. £75,000 for each club is also not a bad return with prize money for the winners and attendance cash on top. So if you're on the box and get throug...

The buss around this tie is good, maybe 600/800 darlo away support and maybe even more than that. Wallsal station very close to ground. And easily found from motorway .also a definite winnable game . I think we will win and the players are definitely up for it. Bescot Stadium has its own station, w...

I am quite happy with the draw, could have been better and could have been worse. It's a tie against a league club in the 1st Round of the FA Cup, what's not to like about it. We now have 3 league games in between to hopefully move up the table a little and then have a big FA Cup game. I'm with sup...

Admittedly it's just outside Crewe but it's only 22 miles from Wrexham
I'm struggling to understand why Nantwich's relative proximity to Wrexham is an issue. Nantwich has got a train station and is 30 mins from the M6. There must be harder places to get to.

There's a great stat in Craig Stoddart's Echo report; this is the first year that Darlo have won 3 FA Cup ties since 1988/9. That year we had three home draws and saw off Runcorn 4-2, Northwich 6-2 and Halifax Town 3-0 (featuring Les McJannet's classy backheeled goal). What makes this year's run al...

For those interested in maths and statistics, the chances of getting a bye to the second round are 1.2658% assuming you’re in the draw of course [emoji6]
