People are quick to whinge about the run offs at Blackwell but at least you can see all the pitch.
Well, as long as more than 2,000 don't turn up that is.

Re: Wright Out

Sorry to hear that Tommy has been sacked, I wish him good luck in finding another job in football management very soon & he finally proves the doubters all wrong. All the best Tommy. In this case the doubters are probably right. Not everyone is cut out to be a football manager and even fewer are cu...

Re: Wright Out

Outrageous to call for Wright's sacking. In Tommy we trust. Who would you replace him with? He's showing signs of turning things around.

Sorry, thought we'd gone back in time there.

So it seems as if he wouldn't come to us until the new year? The Icelandic season is May to September and has just finished, they play 22 games. Does that mean he is having 3 months off to recover?

Soooooo exciting to be in the third round draw - that hasn't happened for years and years and years
If I'm correct, I think this actually is the first time we've ever been in the third qualifying round draw.

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

Well, according to these posts we don't really have any problems so I fail to see why we are 17th in the table. Possibly it's more that some people realise that this is a re-building year, there's gaps in the squad which Armstrong himself has said, we've had injury issues to some key player...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

Well, as much as I think he is a good player, Campbell has not proven he could do a job as a centre forward anywhere. The idea that he can seems to be an act of faith on AA's behalf. And a 1 in 2 record for us this season so far seems to be backing up Armstrong's faith in him as a goalscorer He doe...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

I’d peddle Heaton, Holness, Hedley and get a proper right back and centre forward. If we could get shot of Laing to I would and bring in a new centre back. Watson can cover centre back and full backs and Bascome and Wheatley can cover Atkinson and Hatfield. Not difficult. Fortunately we have a mana...

I think defeat at Kings Lynn won't look so bad come the end of the season, although defeat at home to BPA will probably look even worse.

Re: Small clubs in the north west

Given our attendances, we could certainly be competitive in the NL. The problem is we also have to fund the building of a ground. This has already taken a large amount from the playing budget through the 500 club. Give us a ready built ground and we'd be in a much stronger position.

Generating the millions needed to rebuild BM or build a stadium at the SV from scratch is not going to happen. If we ever want to progress beyond where we are then we can't stay at BM. I'm pretty sure DJ has already come to this conclusion. Absolute nonsense. It's 700 shy of the required capacity f...

Where did I say BM ticked all the boxes? I said it ticks more than anywhere else at current state if play and if the SV / Arena is going for an artificial pitch it has just given itself the exact same barriers that you have said exist at BM - or are they only critical when it suits? - is appropriat...

Round and round the debate goes...without any new information to light so it is just the same debate. Take Dan Maguire out of the Blyth team last season and I bet their performances/results would have been similar to what we are seeing so far this season. Not easy to find a striker like that though.

There was a bit of dodgy distribution from him tonight at times, sometimes he just needs to clear his lines and put his foot through it - but he never hid, always made himself available, and his head didn't drop when he screwed a few of those passes up. He'll never put his foot through it, that's n...

Laing is the new whipping boy I see. Did very little wrong yet his partner alongside him is exempt from any form of criticism. "Error prone" is Laing's middle name. It just looked in dire need of some watering. Surely they have sprinklers anyway, get someone in to turn the things on every day at the state it is now, and it might recover a bit for the seasons start. I’d imagine that’ll be a lot worse to play rugby than football on when it’s dry, so it’s in thei...

Re: Teams in National League North for next season

Isn't there a rule that you don't have to move divisions within 3 years of your last move? Worcester were given such an exemption preventing them being moved back to the North a few years ago. Gloucester went from North to South in 2017-18, so they might be within their rights to refuse to move.
